Agent Orange is a toxic herbicide used in Vietnam in the 1960s. Many veterans who served in the Vietnam War were exposed to Agent Orange and have developed illnesses as a result. Since Agent Orange has been studied more extensively, the VA has made it easier for veterans with illnesses linked to the herbicide to establish service connections without having to develop a lot of evidence.
An illness that has been definitively linked to Agent Orange is known as a “presumptive” illness for claims purposes. The VA “presumes” that if a veteran served in an area where Agent Orange was used and now has an illness that has been linked to it, that is all the evidence necessary to establish service connection unless there was an intervening cause.
New evidence for and against an Agent Orange connection surfaces almost every month. So, bureaucrats could change this list by adding or subtracting conditions at any time.
Additionally, veterans must prove they were deployed in a particular area at a particular time. Before the PACT Act, these areas were limited to Vietnam and the waters surrounding Vietnam at certain times. Now, the list includes parts of Southeast Asia; the Korean demilitarized zone; and bases in Guam, American Samoa, and other areas.
A VA disability attorney must still work to obtain as high a rating as possible, which depends on the veteran’s level of impairment due to their illness. The resulting rating could be between 10% and 100%.
Other Agent Orange-related conditions include various kinds of heart disease and cancer. Benefits may be available, but the claimant must provide evidence that exposure to Agent Orange caused their individual condition. They may have to show they actually handled the herbicide or were directly in contact with it.
An experienced veteran disability lawyer can facilitate the development of evidence in these claims. For a free consultation, contact Cameron Firm, P.C. at (800) 861-7262 or fill out the contact box on our website. We are here to represent veterans nationwide.

I can concur to this claim. I am a US Navy vet and have Parkinson's and heart disease due to exposure to A.O. In Vietnam. Thanks to Jaqueline McCormick of The Cameron Firm she came through and got me 100% VA disability. ☝👍
