- People routinely experience occasional tremors. If they last longer or are more pronounced it could be a sign of something more serious. Sponsored by Swedish.
Thank you for this video. I have been diagnosed with essential tremor and a friend with Parkinson’s. This is the clearest explanation I’ve heard. 🇨🇦
GREAT interview! The interviewer was outstanding, she asked the key questions. Thanks!
I have ET, it’s hereditary and passed down by my father, there is a procedure now called focused ultrasound that stops the tremor in one arm and it’s non evasive. Good luck everyone and God bless
What about cala trio
My mom has ET is there anything to help? I'm getting starting to get worried as she gets older :(
@@raineyrobb watch EONutrition (Elliot Overton) as he discusses B1 and how it helps nerve problem tremendously, even eliminating 80% of Parkinson symptoms, some getting 100% remission.
@@raineyrobb there are some medications that can help such as beta blockers, benzos, seizure medications etc. There is also surgery if it is severe.
I don't want the DBS (deep brain stem) treatment. I thought about the ultrasound but my doc says it's still early and you can only do it once and it may do nothing or very little, whereas with DBS you can dial the strength up and down. I'll likely just suffer for the rest of my life.
This is a really well done interview. Questions are precise and to the point and the answers are clear and detailed. Excellent! Thank you very much.
The doctor is super knowledgeable and articulate and interviewer has well-chosen questions, articulate as well...borderline infomercial vibe to it...🤔my 2 cents
I'm convinced that essential tremor is stress related.
This was really helpful. Thank you🙌🏼🩷
My ET began in my fifties the same time my mums began. It only affects my head. As with mum I mostly don’t feel my head shaking but my grandkids have asked me why my head is shaking. I can also hear it moving with certain jackets I wear. It’s just something I live with
Great info 👍
I’m a 20 year old male and been living with ET for as long as i can remember, I been smoking weed for years and that seems to be the only thing to calm it down
My dad and I both have et. My dad smokes marijuana and he drinks alcohol. He said the alcohol helps more for him but only if he has 1 or 2 drinks. After that it can increase them. Weird how tremors work.
I wish we had more research done here in Australia about ET. Im 57 and have had this since around 10. However Im lucky enough to be in the small percentage that Propanolol helps to some degree. I wish they had mentioned what new drugs they were researching for ET.
0:45 PD affects bodily functions: digestion, blood pressure, bladder/bowel, tremors, gradual decline in mobility; late stage: memory/thinking.
This is very interesting, i am 78 this year and i am a male ,and my head and body started shaking slightly a few years ago and it does seem to be getting worse....it is not very bad at the moment but it is a a bit embarrasing sometimes.
Very useful 👍
Also I have been having more problems with balance issues dropping things etc as far as digestion I already have a digestive disorder plus I've also been diagnosed with some bone disorders with arthritic conditions not yet been diagnosed for ra or lupus but I am definitely progressing in that so it's a lot going on with me but I do all I can for myself and I stay active
I've lived with ET since my early teens. I can attest to the fact that my hands and arms shake as much at rest as when I am doing something. I've had over 50 years of experience with it...
@@luckyj.ferguson6308 Of course I do.
@@luckyj.ferguson6308 No, that makes zero difference. We're not all the same, not everything works for everyone. If there were some panacea, I'm sure my neurologist would have told me about it.
I appreciate your thoughts, but you are hardly qualified to offer advice for a medical issue.
@@davidfairful2227 watch EONutrition - you wont' be sorry. There you'll find help! B1 is the key - dosing is key, gradually increasing the dose. Everyone is different for dosage. Some only need 200mg; some 2,000mg. Your Neurologist may not tell you about B1 because there's no money in it. B1 is saving my life!
Do you have ridgidity with your et? For example, if they were to do a ridgidity test, would you have a cogwheel response? I'm asking for my dad. He has essential tremor but also has cogwheel ridgidity when I test his arm.
Sadly, that is not true. The medical community does not except readily any of these things, such as vitamins, which can make a world of difference for some people. If you see the difference in your own life, and in many other people, because they have been studies, and yet some of these, Parkinson’s groups will not even listen to it.
I have a mild tremors and it's frustrating sometimes because when I hold a cup to get poured sometimes people ask me why my hand shakes.
When I get very tired my hands shakes alot.
My wife is suffering from E.T. Her father had and her sister and one of the brother also having E, T. I'm sure it's hereditary. I have 2 boys aged 33 and 35. My wife now is 68. She is taking medication prescribed by our doctor. She gets it more when she is hungry, reading a book ,,cooking etc. Any suggestions pl. From Australia
Those were great questions! Thank-you for asking them. I'm 69 and my dominate left hand shakes only when I try to write. The shaking is getting bad enough that my writing is almost illegible. I have no other symptoms. From what I've learned, there is no medication that specifically addresses Essential Tremors - not yet anyway.
MRI guided focused ultrasound for tremor
My Neuro just gave me some Propenol to try...
I have essential tremors ,just diagnosed..I shake at rest and when I go to do something.I also know differences in parkinsons and essential tremor because I have taken care of my mother brother and two sisters who have parkinsons..that’s my two cents.😊
In your opinion, is it hereditary? Did you ever see if you have any of the genes?
Look up EONutrition - best way to eliminate symptoms for any neuro stuff including any tremors.
@@downhomegirl5 My two sisters have it;it's not hereditary. I firmly believe it's caused by chemicals of every kind. My sister lives in Florida where they spray their lawns all the time (at least they do in their gated community). My 2 sisters who have Parkinson's never cared about organic, but my one sister and I have done lots of organic. Plus I believe mercury from shots and fillings can get in the way of healing from it. People have eliminated many symptoms from Parkinsons, MS, ALS, etc. with the B1 (thiamine) protocol. If you know anyone interested, watch on you tube EONutrition. By doing just this B1 I now healed my IBS of 14 yrs. I tried every diet and lowly B1 worked like magic. I tell everyone about it.
i was diagnosed with ET but i shake when sitting still, even while sleeping... sometimes it wakes me up...
My wife is also diagnosed with ET. But like you, she shakes when she relaxes.
Can both diseases can alternate therapy like accupressure, accupunture helpful?
Impossible to read sub titles as it goes too fast
Surprised no mention of Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's or Cala Trio wrist device for Essential Tremor; my sister in law has Parkinson's and has the DBS device implanted in her brain with great success. I have Essential Tremor and plan on applying for the Cala Trio wrist bracelet next year when my new Medicare Plan will help cover cost.
Cala trio is a rather new device offered for ET. Keep in mind this video is from 4 years ago.
What if you have the tremors both when you are trying to do things and sitting in a prone position in bed.
It’s frustrating. Many ppl have tremors with both characteristics to some degree. There are clearly Parkinson’s patients with tremors during movement as well.
So I'm still trying to figure out what is progressively happening to me I was diagnosed with tremor disorder about 2 years ago after I had a head injury I never actually went to get the MRI brain scan long story short my doctor is a great doctor but I personally did not care for the neurologist who saw me basically told me the brain scan MRI will be a waste of my time and that she thinks that this is just tremor disorder it's part physiological I am prescribed for propanol which does help them but they are progressing I'm curious does essential tremor also affect the legs preferably in my left leg and I noticed when I get more stressed out I have them mind you that I am 46 going on 47 and Parkinson's does run in my family. It's very discouraging as a person who has chronic illnesses to have to basically wait for things to progress worse in order to get diagnosed I'm beginning to feel like this is possibly Parkinson's however the only symptoms I'm having are the tremoring weird feelings in my hands constant shaking not intention tremors either just it's a constant vibration in my body it's become very discouraging and stressful because it is progressing
You should get an mri especially since it runs in your family. There is a high risk of getting the gene.
How are you doing now, a year later? Best wishes to you.
i was on Depakote for 9 years for a seizure disorder This is how Depakote affected me it caused massive weight gain, memory loss, a hand tremor a one point i stoped eating i had no appitite i was severly depressed and suisidal . i was taken off but still had a small tremore this is my personal experience of the medication and i know that everyone will react diffrently to any kind of medication
now i have a tremor in my left hand as it is my nondominante and my right hand also shakes not a big shake but i can feel it even if no one sees
How r u now
Cala trio to help?
I know psych meds can cause tremors. If your worried ask for an mri
For me it's like when I grab my phone my hands shake a little bit should I worry
My tremour related to stress, but as gotten better over time. Only have tremours under severe stress conditions.
Cala trio device to help?
Very clear and informative. Thank you Dr. (wish they had put your name on the screen)
They did... 0:50
I have seen lately my mom having head tremors and I told her about this but she replied that she hasn't noticed having the tremors. Could this be possible? She has hyperthyroidism for years and maybe this is a side effect of her medication.
It's very common for other people to notice my tremors more than I do. I hadn't even thought about it until my sister told me at a young age "Your hands shake just like Dad." As the years passed, the tremors became worse and started to limit my daily activities. I do notice when I can't get a spoon to my mouth without spilling the contents beforehand, but I'll often tremble without thinking about it until someone else points it out.
I got ET at 18. I'm 45 now and it's gotten fairly unbearable in the last couple years. Ofc my luck, I'm in the 50% of those who do not respond to the meds. 😢
Big difference memorizing vs learning medicine!
I have tremor in the whole body and Im 11 years old and I started feeling tired but I think it is because of a cold I have but the question is after I drink coffee and choloate I start shaking but normal I have sometimes a bit of shaking and Im confused because I dont know if i have a tremor or shakines from stress please answer
Both chocolate and coffee and tea have caffeine, that makes them stimulants that will increase tremors, watch what you drink,no soda unless caffeine free!!
Very good video I have tremor
I’m 20 and I notice I’ll get like this tingly chills sensation and I shake my head back and forth really quick without purposely doing it some days it doesn’t happen some days it happens multiple times I just look like I shake my head no randomly real quick what is this? I’m only 20?
I know I have this too and always thought WTF is this early signs of Parkinsons as I'm like am I chaking my head side side this is weird involuntary feeling I have had for years lol if I figure anything out I'll let you know I have a syndrome called Elher's Danlos which is a mutation on a gene which affect brain eye and joints Well it affects ligaments which make your joints loose so I am here researching for a friend with Parkinson's and I'm thinking maybe nerve damage in the spine causing in proper signal to brain due to squished never in Spine But I have only started putting my brain around this
@@nicolepoirier3631 same hero bruh, neck stiffness with head n hand tremors. How uh now?
I have a question about my eye because my eye is got cloud
Does a MRI scan reveal one is having Parkinson’s Disease?
No not in early stages especially
May never be seen. If seen it is a positive but if not seen it doesn’t mean you do not have PD
MRI can detect low levels of dopamine and decreased black and gray matter.
Not sure which i have I only have tremors in my head even when sitting still or laying in bed. The dr says its familiar tremors but I just not sure.
I was diagnosed with TBI and post concussion syndrome for a head injury. I landed on back of my head. Ive been having balance and dizziness issues..and lately my wife noticed my hand shaking a little bit. I didn't notice until she said something. Should i be worried??
My hubby has tremors ,when sleeping it doesnt happen when he is using his hand it doesnt happen , now i noticed it is in his jaw as well ,the meds they gave him are not working

I got them a week after a tick bite! I really believe , because never had any handtremors before. Maybe more people have a tick born diesease without knowing?
What is tick born??
@@navjeet11 When you are bitten by a tick.
Very possible. My best friend died at age of 39 after a tick bite. Flu, Meningitis, Coma and waking up before death. His brain was literally burned. He was recognizing nobody and he had idiotic behavior. It is sad and scary what tick bite could do to a human.
I'm just 24 and since last month my fingers are shaking and feeling stiffness as well in wrist and hand, plzz give some advice on this
Your doctor may help you control the tremors by prescribing a beta blocker. Alternatively, low-THC products might help too although that might violate an employer's drug and substance use policy.
Best.
If you have two cocktails and your tremor stops it’s Essential Tremor. Easy.
0r whiskey calms it it's essential tremors
@@debbie2382 I keep a nice bottle of “Medicinal Tequila” for vegetable chopping and such.
Well god dammit my tremor is when I’m sitting still
My tremors started in my left leg at rest. Now think I have early PD. I'm 61

Dr Madida on CZcams indeed really helped me a lot in reversing my Parkinson disease.
How did you do it? Can you please point me in the right direction
Try B vitamins
"diagnosed on a clinical basis"....translation...the doctors just eyeball it!
Yup
If they're looking for essential tremor then the neurologist will have you move your hands rather quickly and check for shaking afterwards.
Excuse me, I've done much research before I went to the Neurologist. He said I definitely have essential tremor. I set a date with one of the neurosurgeons. It all went very well. I still have to get the other side done. Don't underestimate these doctors.
