Hi Garath I am so pleased that your vidos are varied Supporting your local businesses is a big deal !!! Also I love ❤ to see how types differ .Sharing these is good so different here in Suffolk Thanks you are a star 🌟 getting a takeaway in to enjoy together ❤ hope you've got a nice chilled drink too enjoy Lyndax
The same order down where I live costs £17.40p. However, all the containers here are much shallower and contain 30 - 40% less. Also the bag of chips would be half the size! You're getting value for money in Barrow-in-Furness compared to down south... Great work fella!
Curry! Curry is a different thing! Way back in 1989, I traveled from Los Angeles to Japan, for a two month job. I had to eat the available foods there . And curry with rice is a big thing there, weather in that area is often cold and rainy so people eat warm spicy foods. Early on after our arrival by plane, we were out by the beach one morning, in the dark, and for lunch we were given bowls of curry shrimp, with rice, hot, and a weird chopped sweet pickle on the side to balance the flavor. There was iced coffee in cans to drink with this. A delicious hot curry meal! I’m enjoying your videos as they are inspiring me to try new foods. 🙂💜
Now as always I'm going back 20 years or more but I remember the local Chinese back in the day there chips where brilliant and apparently they used all the meat fats they had left over to cook the chips, made them the tastiest chips around, greasy as hell but lovely
I remember Them chips 🍟 as well really thick ones as well Even The local Chippie Did There Fish in fat not oil Had A Lovely taste to them as well as the chips x
Well said about the chips, I don't mind frozen ones such as them. Our local Chinese have the same ones too and they compliment the curry sauce in my opinion.
I tend to go for pork, chicken or duck, as the beef tends to be quite chewy. UK Chinese Takeaway seems to be the best outside of Hong Kong, I've not been the China though, but have eaten in Birmingham where the local Chinese Community eat, it's so different. Love your content, keep going.
You need to try Chilli oil from takeaway too. Livens up basically everything from a Chinese! It's basically a pot full of crushed chilli with a bit oil (well from my local anyway). As you like your heat you really need to try it... I only found out about it because I always asked for everything spicy and the owner turned round one day and said I'll put some of this in your food, just give it a mix in when your home. Now they put it in my order without me even asking now..... Sorry for the long comment. But you can tell I love it haha.
Gareth, my fave, next to salted chillie ribs. I put on nearly 3 stone eating stuff like this during lockdown. Thankyou for another great video and hope you and your good lady enjoy 😘😘
Keep up the good reviews buddy good content love your unique stuff “Now I’ve been shopping” Walking round Tesco “As You Do” and quality sets you apart that Chinese has made me hungry haha 😂👍🏻🍺
Garrett good review, l do like you're reviews of local businesses. lt has been awhile since l last commented on you're reviews due work. l had one of those Greggs Festive Bakes £2.10 in London, last week when l went back to my jobs head office. For sure everything is going up big time in prices.
These Chinese take away's have got their cooking and dish sizes down to a fine art. Hugely great value and tastes to die for. You couldn't make it at home for the price and the supermarkets cannot compete on this either or the flavours I think.
Just as I was about to have a banana piece for lunch and I have to watch this! Looks delicious Gareth, making me even more hungrier. Hope you and good lady enjoyed it. All the best pal. 👍
Well jealous! We would have to travel 30 minutes to nearest take away restaurants. My hubby makes all our Staying Inn food or we buy at ASDA fortnightly. Those curries are lovely. I’ve never heard of a mixed meat curry before. Thanks again for sharing.
When I last bought chips from a Chinese chippy in Twyford, Berkshire, about 20 years ago they had a large tray of partially fried chips behind the counter, covered with a kitchen towel. You ordered your chips and the girl took a portion off the tray and fried them, so that they were fried twice. They were prepared from fresh potatoes and the chips were the best you could get anywhere in the area. As it happens, I stopped off today at my favourite Chinese takeaway and bought a portion of crab and sweetcorn soup to eat in the car. £2.50. I always keep a clean spoon in the glove box.
I love chow mein, I tried cooking them at home but they were never the same as from a takeaway. I bought msg from a Chinese takeaway, absolute game changer!
Very nice mate!... I don't know if this has any basis in reality for others... But for me... every Chinese Takeaway I've ever tried... They always serve a huge amount of Chips... 🍟 Not like other types of Takeaways... They're usually very skimpy with their portions of Chips they serve... And if i'm not mistaken... i think a lot of Chinese Takeaways usually cook using Peanut Oil... And from what I've heard... Peanut Oil can be quite expensive compared to Vegetable Oil... But the Chips definitely have quite a unique taste... When bought from a Chinese Takeaway... and i must say... i do like them a lot... Not as much as my local Chippy... but they're still very good Chips all the same... Many thanks for the review Gareth... You've now made me very hungry mate... 😋 Cheers. 🍺
Hello again Gareth, I've found that on the whole Chinese takeaways are generous with their portions. I normally have curried special with boiled rice and prawn crackers, just typing about Chinese food making me feel hungry.
What I always do when I order a special curry from the Chinese is say no onions, as they use a lot to pack the meal out , also that way you get extra meat , love the review Gaz , see you on the next one , hope you and your good lady enjoyed it .
Looks all very nice ,can't beat fresh chips ,but don't mind decent frozen ,that's deep fried , special curry my favourite ,a ask for it hot and spicy ,they put in fresh chilli's, enough there for three people ,or a family, great value
I make my own chicken balls, with cut chicken into cubes and make the batter out of flour and water mixed together, when you have the right consistency you want dip the chicken cubes in the batter 8at a time, then fry them in a chip pan of vegetable oil. They will rise to the top and go light brown, scope out and drain on paper towels while you cook another batch, then put the first batch back in to fry again, same with 2batch, drain and put in bowl. Salt on top then toss around in bowl . Ready to serve, beautiful and not thick stogy balls like Chinese and you get 2 packs for the price of one. Also make your own sweet and sour sauce to. Hope you try making them.
Hello Gareth In Birmingham a lot pubs closed down and they turned them into Indian Chinese self service theme restaurants do you have them in Barrow-in-Furness and have you been to one and reviewed it
15 quids feck all these days for a meal for two! And if it’s tasty then even better! Looked like some serious portions too just like the Chinese philosophy of making sure your guest feels sated. Another good vlog Gareth 👍
I love UK Chinese cuisine (UK is different to other countries)..made especially for our palette and importantly the ingredients available in mid 1850 China Towns here in UK...ie Liverpool which is the oldest. I cook my own now though I follow Khoan Vongs channel and just follow the videos! If I can replicate UK Chinese cuisine anyone can! The noodles looked like #1 Lucky Boat noodles, personally I prefer the thinnner ones which are #2 Lucky boat. Give it a go Gareth. Ps the chips would be 15mm AVIKO from cash & carry
I ordered a house special curry earlier tonight after watching this video lol Was craving one..It came in a round foil container and was full to the brim. Lush

Absolutely the best part of any Chinese meal is the few chips you eat out of the bag as you are driving home from the takeaway!
Haha yes I do it lol 🤣😋😋👍

And then you reseal the bag so nobody knows you've been naughty!

My local Chinese does a decent mixed special curry, but it's 50 percent packed out with peas and onions. Looked decent.

I love Chinese curry. Have that with chips.
And I love sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style, with egg fried rice.
When I get Chinese curry I sometimes ask them to make it hotter or add extra chilli to it if it’s normally been too mild.
Hot yes like mine hot but not too hot.
Damn!! I'm so hungry, I'll be having some of that when I get home and then some!!!, You lucky Bugger!!!

The chips look to be full of fat and will therefore be tasty you need to be mindful of fatty food it can block your arteries over time.
Try The Great Wall or Water Lilly. Used to love the Wai Ming but ain't as good as it used to be. Great review mate 👍
