I love jimny's had mine 10 years, but I wish they did a diesel variant in the UK. I think they were available as a 1.5 diesel in other countries but I'm not 100% sure.

Not sure if anyone else has mentioned, but doing tug of war or towing out of a bog like that with a strap around the tow ball can be potentially deadly. Tow balls are designed to have majority downward pressure, so when you try applying a sideways pulling force on it like that, the towball can potentially turn into a missile, where it can snap off and be flung in the direction of the pulling force, ie through your rear window etc. Just letting you know.
This strap is not a catapult , it's the latest kind of straps that when torn just drop on the ground. No shooting or catapulting anything with this one 😊
@@LifeofSmokey believe that all you want. Using a towball this way is dumb, stupid and dangerous. In fact a “tug of war” between 2 vehicles is one of the most stupid things regardless.
Totally agree that all straps, ropes, cables and chains should always be secured on some kind of closed system.
But that's total bullshit that tow balls are designed for downward pressure only. Shit. You're not even supposed to have more than 100kg weight on end of the trailer hitch when you attach your trailer (most of the weight should be on the axle of the trailer so the vehicle you're pulling with handles properly). And obviously if you have 2000kg trailer that you're PULLING, most of the force that the hitch ball will endure is literally pulling. So it's meant for pulling (to the specified limit at least, be it 500 or 3000 kg trailer - usually the brake/engine performance and strength of the vehicle's frame is the limiting factor how big of a trailer you can pull with it, not the hitch itself).
Then again, always use closed loops and designated towing points for towing or whatever and don't use your hitch ball for anything else than what it is meant for.
Downward pressure? And how about the 3 ton trailer? Where does that pull on? 🤣
Yeah nah, towballs are made to hold weight AND pull weight. It's kind of what the whole point of them is.

In the states you ideally use both…the Ram to tow kitted out Samurais to the trails for wheeling.
So, the jimny 5 door is finally going to be displayed at a showroom in my city tomorrow morning at 10am for the first time :)
We already booked one but never seen it.
It does not not as cute as the 3 door one but after seeing your mods I am hopeful :) My favourite is the tires u got on yours.
They say the 5 door is very comfortable but I'm hoping that bigger tough ass tires will also add some extra cushion to the ride.

Obviously it’s horses for courses but in my humble experience the JB74 is a true 4x4.
My JB74 has been lifted, diff locked, under protection, warn evo vr 8000 winch, 235s MTs, long range fuel tank and the list goes on and on.
Nothing stops this Jimny, rock hop, water cross, chest deep bog holes, vertical climbs, sand dunes or big rig rut trails do not bother my JB74.
I’ve only ever used the winch to recover other vehicles, the jimny is in a league of its own and so much fun modifying a Jimny to your personal needs.

It all about the cost , when off-roading things does tend to break and which ever is the cheapest to fix win ! Also, not mention the peace of mind of knowing repairs are not going to break the bank let one enjoy more while off roading.
Extra challenges : Drag race backwards. Braking distance on mud at 60 km/h. 👍😁

Jimny gets flogged at pretty much every stage but in all the comments everyone seems to want one. They just a fun and budget friendly 4wd. But let it be known also a very capable 4wd that can hit well above its weight off-road
How about a test about how far will the light reach. Or in fog which one is more capabale to see through.
This video makes absolutely no sense. It's illogical, incongruous and even ridiculous... but sometimes those are the best videos, irrational is not bad. The result was obvious, we knew it from the beginning, but it was very fun to see 🤣
Let's be honest, TRX is a monster and we all know it, but it's hard to gauge how ridiculously powerful it is. This video gives us a good perspective.

TRX, yes someone of our village has one. Its a Monster for sure, but I am really sure, if it comes to hard consitions I will have to recover this beast with my 2000 Pajero Sport (K90)😂

@@LifeofSmokey seriously? Diesel v petrol tax I guess? Here we're taxed on the size of the engine too, my Harley is seen as a massive engine to alot of people when compared to cars.
People genuinely don't drive what they'd like to here, between tax, insurance and import costs.
@@josephbrowne3533 nope in Belgium and ONLY in Belgium a cargo car needs to have 50% of the wheelbase to be "cargospace". A ram is a pickup so that's a cargo car no problem. The Jimny does not have that 50% space so you have to pay full amount of roadtax because it's considered a normal car. AND the Jimny has very high emmisions for a 1050kg car that's why it's so expensive 😅

I know the Jimny with 4 seats couldn't be got here because of emissions. But my sister used to love having the older land rover discoverys and the governmental weighing of the cost of ownership priced them out of reasonable ownership, both passenger ones and converted cargo ones. The tax might be high on one but the insurance would be high on the other (both too high in my opinion) and turns out the cargo out would have to pay extra at toll roads.
And tractors pay almost nothing in road tax despite chewing up the roads.
