Absolutely insane, I’ve never seen anything like it, that’s why recruiting is so important at these big time programs.
I personally think it was the change on offensive play calling, we were absolutely refusing to run anything other than a run up the gut and a screen. Once we changed the play calling our offense got better

One side carrying the other is never going to be a formula for success. In college football, at some point you're running into teams that are going to put up points. The last title they won the defense was phenomenal and we still spotted Alabama a 21 to 3 lead and 35 for the game. Idk any other team that can do that and win against a program like that. Or have what, 3 to 4 turnovers in the championship game and win by 3 scores?

If OSU sticks to passing they can't lose. Stroud had a great game hampered by play calling(8/9 passing for a qtr and a half). Their defense stops it from being a shootout. They move the ball throwing it on first and second.

That performance on defense by Tuimoloau has to be the best I have ever seen by a defensive player, college or pro.
If this game is indicative of his talent, he’s a sure first round NFL Pick and the first linebacker taken in the draft.

14:38 The fact that you can *hear* the ball being intercepted makes for some fantastic ASMR. The whole play was just insane. One fluid motion from getting around the block, picking off the pass, running it in, and placing the ball down ever so gently like a nice little cherry on top. Greatest 7 seconds of the game, lol.

I always get nervous when we travel to happy valley. PSU fans are crazy. I’ve never quite seen a defensive performance like I saw from JTT today. Dude is an absolute monster. Extremely happy to see Ohio State to respond. This was our first true test, and also a major test on the road. We really put the mail in the coffin towards the end.

Dogshit QB + Dogshit Coaching caused a loss for PSU. At least our defense helf them fairly well (I expected a huge blowout) and we managed to score on them a couple times.

I was worried for a second when Allen got a TD with 9 mins left, but when henderson immediately scored that worry withered right away and then after Tuimoloau happened I got comfortable again

What an electric defense OSU has compared to last year. Jim Knowles won me over on the first play of that Notre Dame game when he replaced our starter after missing that tackle on Notre Dames’ Styles. What a difference a year makes. OSU’s defends is in beast mold!

No question, Tuimoloau was a defensive "beast" for the Buckeyes and kept them in the game. Hopefully, Bucks will still be No.2 in the country, as Georgia is trouncing Florida as I type this, so the Bulldogs should remain No.1. Speaking of which, my condolences to the family of former Georgia coach Vince Dooley in the passing of their loved one. He was quite a figure in their football program, including winning the National Championship in 1980. A huge loss.
I actually think tennessee should swap with UGA, I'm just not as impressed with uga as I am with ut and I think tennessee is gonna beat them down this Saturday.

- Stop trying to force the run game. Focus on the passing game 1st, let the defense adjust to prevent that passing game and that will open up the run game.
- Henderson is not Miyan. You need different playcalls for each RB. Miyan is a true tough RB and Henderson is more of the explosive RB.
- Fix your 3rd and 1 playcalls. Would it hurt to do a QB run here or mix it up so the RB jumps over the defense?
- Too many repeat calls. If the playcall fails, dont force it again. Mix it up and keep trying new things every play.
- You have a generational WR. Maximize him. Nobody can cover him out there and he never drops passes.
Overall so many errors on Day end which nearly cost OSU the game.

We played poorly in all phases of the game except for forcing turnovers. We allowed 500 yards although some of those were garbage time

James Franklin and company had a good game plan and made the game more competitive to watch. In the off-season James Franklin needs to put together a high powered offense that can compete inside the Big Ten Conference. OSU can't keep relying on the second half of the game to bail them out, because they'll end up playing a team who can win in all four quarters of the game. OSU-Penn st was fun to watch..
If he has not been able to find anyone better than Sean Clifford in SIX years then he can't recruit QB's.
Big Game James has been trying to do that for 8 years now, and still can't put it together at this next level. Even if Clifford didn't suck, James and his ever-revolving offensive staff still leave this PSU team at a constant disadvantage with stubborn, non-adjusting scheming and horrible play calling...time and time again. He just doesn't have it unfortunately.
OSU vs Penn has always come down to that type of game. For whatever reason they play each other hard. Penn Statw will never be able to recruit like OSU which in the end talent will prevail. Marvin Harrison Jr is from what state (Pennsylvania) . No way he was attending PSU

I was wondering when JT would have a Breakout game. Now Jack Sawyer needs to rise to the occasion.
I was thinking the same thing... hopefully it'll happen. Especially since we've heard about how good Sawyer has been in practice. Sawyer and Tuimoloau both played TE in high school sometimes so they both have receiving skills (sawyer also played QB sometimes, believe it or not)
But what I'm hoping for is for them both to become monsters bc last time we had a DE beast (Chase Young), teams started triple teaming him at the end of the season bc no matter how many sacks it cost you, its better to be hit by other DL than Young, who will strip the football. But if Sawyer and Tuimoloau break out, it won't be possible to double team them both without terrible consequences...
I'm really hyped for what the 2023 defense could look like...

PSU gave OSU all they could handle for 3.5 quarters. It took a heroic effort from that OSU LB and a bit of luck to beat PSU today. If it wasn't for him coming away with 3 turnovers, PSU very well could have won that game. Looks like The Game is gonna be for all the marbles again. Looking forward to it.

Ryan Day/Kevin Wilson's play calling and schemes stink. 9 drives and only 16 points with 4 FGs and 3 made! The Defense saved their asses in this game. The major problem is that Ryan Day and Kevin Wilson do not seem to study the opponents, chart a smart scheme or do smart play calling (in both Iowa and Penn State games). With such pathetic Offensive scheme and play calling they will lose if they continue that way vs Michigan and beyond.
