2:02 That's actually dog language. When a dog does the cat crawl then rolls over and shows their belly, that's to show other dogs or even people they're not aggressive and would be happy to play.
And what a beautiful, sweet, loving dog you have!!
It's a submissive gesture....ready to conform to the authority or will of others; meekly obedient or passive.
my dog always does that
I don t think you need to explain it. Are there really people that can t read animal gestures? Genuinely asking

He was definitely too small, in my eyes. He was supposed to resemble the Grim for godâs sake!
But, remember, Sirius had to be small enough to fit under the whoppin willow
Wolf dogs are absolutely gorgeous, but damn I wish people would stop breeding them. All they see is a beautiful dog and they end up not being able to control it b/c they're NOT just a regular dog.
The problem is not breeding. Because if we think about that they should stop breeding Pugs (deformed dogs) they should stop breeding some types of cats (because it gets sick of the bones) and etc... If we think about breeding they should stop EVERY TYPE of breeding because is a torture to the female. The problem is who take care of the wolf dog.
@@dalilarocha4562 No, breeding is part of the problem. Pure breds are a different matter, but mixing the genes of a wolf and a dog is a serious gamble in terms of how the puppies will turn out. Dogs have less cortisol than wolves, which makes them less stressed around people. There's a chance that the hybrid will express lower stress and comfort around people, but there is an equally high chance that it will not, and have very wild instincts. This uncertainty will most definitely lead to pups getting euthanized.
Straight up, we should stop breeding animals that are deformed. I am not talking about all breeds (labs and such are fine, since their issues are minimal and can be prevented with proper lineage), but those who have life altering, cruel genetic deformities like the pug, english bulldog, or the french bulldog. Some of these animals are so genetically fucked that they cannot even give birth naturally! If we truly love dogs, we need to show it by stopping such horrific breeding habits
@@Drspoe That's how dogs were born. If people really cared about that dog's should not exist right now!
Wolf dogs look lost, they aren't supposed to be.
My uncle had a wolf dog named Achilles and let me tell you the only thing he's ever done wrong was steal my cookies when I was eight, otherwise he was a sweetheart.
I doubt that dog was a real wolfdog. The only way to tell is with a DNA test.
Achilles! Love that name. Is the dog named after Achillis a hero that fought in the battle of Troy?
How dare he steal your cookies đĄ
Let's hope those cookies weren't chocolate or chocolate chip. (chocolate is basically poison to dogs.)
Stole your cookies... and your heart!
That's gotta be the most beautiful dog I've ever seen, she's a work of art
Wolfdog* meaning that she has wolf DNA in her
She looks quite majestic doesnât she? Plus she has the prettiest eyes Iâve ever seen
And that's the problem.
Not a dog
Absolutely stunning beauty.
Ok. So, she wakes up every morning at 4:30am and walks the dogs for 2 hours. Also, Indigo has chewed up 2 couches. That level of patience and commitment is so beyond impressive. I'm exhausted just imagining that.
After a while in turns into a lifestyle
Yes but at the same time it is beneficial for her own health too
2 couches isn't much! We had a German Shepherd named Shadow who did about $10,000 in damage because he had separation anxiety!!!
Luckily, after months if extending our time away from him so he knew we would come back he never destroyed anything else. Unfortunately he got bit several times by a Western Diamondback, which he survived, but we had to put him to sleep when he was only 5 because it eventually caused neurological paralysis. If we had still been in California he would have gone to U.C. Davis for treatment. But we were in a shithole town in Colorado, and the vets don't know much of anything, so our only option was euthanasia. If he was even a trained vet!
Point is, that's probably the sane thing Indigo went through.
Thanks for giving her the love she deserves!
Ahhhh I'm sorry Rip sweet wolf. Was Indigo high content? I have wolves here in Colorado. Anywhere we go they have to where orange vests so they don't get shot.
My dad did that with my dog Gizmo every time he goes & scratches at his door at like 4-5am in the morning like for the 1st two yrs that we got him. Heâd wake up from a dead sleep & walks Gizmo & then when they come home? He goes back to sleep & my dog will come back & jump on my bed to sleep with me lol. Itâs a chihuahua.
I raised a wolf dog from a 2 week baby when it's mom tragically died. I was 12 so we grew up together. We were inseparable. It's a very special bond. You can't ever forget it's a wolf and not just a dog that has generations of breeding to be a pet. Priceless experience. Thanks for sharing Dodo!
There is a lot of myth and wives' tale about selective breeding. I've raised all sorts of "wild" creatures doing animal rescue, including wolves (not just wolf mixes). They imprint because they're mammals. Had zero trouble cohabitating them with my squirrels or possums or any of our other animals. They didn't get along with my geese, because geese are dicks.
@@st0n3p0ny aw, poor geese, they get a bad rap! ;-)
LOL geese are quite horrid...and quite scary.
Michelle Anderson weird flex but ok
@@st0n3p0ny this has to be my favorite comment of all time!
P.s. I got bit on the ass by a goose during my grandmother's funeral... Goosed by a goose... Geese are dicks...
I had a wolf dog growing up... and he was the BEST of both worlds. His mom was a German shepherd police dog who went camping with her owner and came back pregnant. Danny was the only one who took her color. All the rest of the litter looked like wolves. Danny was the absolute best dog I could have asked for. He was loving and affectionate, he was protective yet social... and insanely intelligent. The older he got, the more wolf like features he had... but at the heart of it was that pack mentality that kept us until he had to be put down. To breed these beautiful creatures and then throw them away is wrong on every level. Iâm grateful to hear a happy ending for this pretty girl. Her eyes are captivating....
"We've gone through two couches that she's eaten".......I'm sorry she WHAT?!
She's not a regular dog. It's only part of the reason she needs specialist care.
Wolf-dog hybrids donât act like regular dogs most of time. Iâve known three and while they were all beautiful, sweet and loved people they all required way more work and training than a normal dog.
nallen100 our rescue pit ate a phone, couch, and remote control. She also wouldnât eat unless we were home
I was just like: The WHOLE Couch?! Like, even the WOODEN FRAMEWORK?! Girl ...
My Chocolate Labrador ate our Laundry door when he was a puppy. There were no pieces from the giant hole. Because he had eaten the bits he chewed off.
Iâm really not a âdog personâ being bit by a shepherd at a young age, but this wolf catches my heart for some reason. Hope she finds a home.
There is a person that I work with. *She's my boss* she is afraid of dog's. Similar story. But she just witnessed a German shepherd one day & the German shepherd came by to hang out with her & her best friend. & one day the German shepherd went out & mauled her best friend face off. & I offered her to pet Zoey. Our Goldendoodle. There's my issue there. She doesn't want to. & I am like boss. I promise you to heart she loves people. She wants to meet everyone she sees. She is a very socialized dog. She wants to meet everyone. She loves giving lots of kisses. & petting. So in my opinion. I think people need to realize how much to really trust a person. I am saying I am one of those people that say ye. Go ahead & pet my dog. They don't bite. No I am brutally honest with anyone. We only owned 1 dog that ever bit anyone. & we raised him sense a pup. It was a English Mastiff. & yes I agree dogs can snap. Or click. But come on a goldendoodle any of them like F1 F2 F3 ect will never in a lifetime will ever attack anyone. Again it's the way a dog owner interacts with the dog & to other's. If there is a dog owner that respects people. The dog will respect other people. Plain & simple. Also to note have your dog socialized with people at a young age. Better chance the out come will be better than dark.
Im not a real dog Trainer. Like i never went to school for it or anything, but i definitely know enough to get by. Ive jumped into two situations where i got bit. Once i jumped in and stopped a girl from being bit. I think it could have escalated to a maul if i wasnt there. But i stopped the attack and ended up getting bit in the process. But it wasn't my worst bite. The other one was incredibly agitated over a child's toy and the owner needed to get it away. It wasn't the dog's toy. The owner said that the best thing to do would be to let the dog have it. No, no, no. I was gonna get that toy. Even after trading a treat for the toy after it ate its treat it came back for the toy. I got bit, but i managed to dislodge its jaw from my arm and get it to submit. It took over an hour. And it was obvious he had been allowed to do whatever it wanted. I was bleeding, but after cleaning it up really well i never went to the drs. (I know its like SUPER bad not to, but i never go to the drs, aven when i broke a bone in my hand.) And still after that i still have never been afraid of an animal. I would still save that little girls my little ponny stuffed thing any day. Im just glad the little girl wasnt bitten. The owners ended up getting rid of the dog the next year.
That was only one dog tho.... most dogs arenât like that.. get over the fear
@@brooklynbound0 Yeah imagine seeing your friend get mauled possibly to death by a dog and a little spoiled brat like you says "Get over it. Its just one dog" You have no right to say that to someone who has been through something terrible.
@@brooklynbound0 getting over fears takes time and a lot of anxiety, you do realize that, right? you cant say "get over the fear" because you dont know what they go through all the time with it.
I don't understand how people have that much energy to deal with 3 dogs AND work in a dog shelter.
Wdym, that is a dream come true.
The love for dogs gives them the energy.
As The Name Suggests my dream
@K9 idk even so, she wakes up at 4:30 am to give the wolf dog a 2hour walk.
With all she has to do, care and walk the other dogs, the shelter..
It still alot without a regular job.
I wish I had a third of her energy !
My aunt adopted a second generation wolfdog that had been abandoned by its owners as a puppy when they realized how much care he needed. My aunt adored him, and renamed him to Blue (I suppose that wolfdogs named after colors is pretty common, after watching this video). He was the sweetest thing ever. He seldom barked, and he only ever growled at one person in his entire life.
He went through a lot with my aunt, and when he died, she was heartbroken. I wasn't alive when he was, but I've heard so much about him, and when looking at photos, he looks exactly like a wolf. I really wish people would stop mistreating these animals, they can give so much love back.
Most people assume wolves violent animals and set out traps for them...
I just wanna say thank you for looking after her instead of letting her suffer đđđ
I grew up in Alaska and had a chance to save a wolf puppy, his name was Shadow and he became a kennel-mate to my shepherd.
Both died a week apart and in very old age. My Shep was more dangerous then my wolf, and both were lovers.
I've also heard of such thinks, wehn People socialize Wolf Pups with dogs. People who steal Puppys and try to have them as a pet are the real problem which makes me throw up my Breakfast. Saving them? Everytime. Only having them because its cool? Dude ... these People deserve to be fed to a Shark.
No offense against you, in case you understood something wrong ... i love your story and im so sorry because they died ...
Aw I'm glad they had each other and you! They can play together while they wait for you :)
She's not just a wolf dog. She's a model!
It's most likely not a wolf dog at all. Wolf dogs don't have blue eyes. It's definitely an interesting mix of northern breeds. If there was some wolf content, it would be pretty low

First off thank you for the rescue! Anyone that rescues a dog is a special person. Period! Second thank you for not giving up on a wolf dog. They are truely missunderstood. I wish people would stop breeding them because they are not needed. If someone wants a wolf-like dog get a husky or even a German Sheppard.
I found what I thought was a husky running in my neighborhood 12 years ago. What I found out by my vet and a local wolf expert was that Roxie probably was a wolf dog. But with help and education, I kept her for over 10 years. It was tough at times but she turned out to be a very loving dog. Not so good with other dogs but with humans including kids of all ages. She was amazing with kids (well supervised of course)! Even till she was near the end of her life she acted like a pup around kids. I was so privileged to have her in my life. I now have a newfie. Now that's a great breed for an expert and responsible owner.

Iâve known wolf dogs, and this is the first time Iâve ever see this behavior, thatâs one special pup. And sheâs a beauty. đđ»
Sounds like she has the perfect home with you.
Sheâs a gorgeous dog and her story is amazing, but I wish people would stop breeding wolves and dogs. Theyâre really two different species who live in completely different environments. A wolf is a wild animal who deserves to live in the wild, while a dog is a fully domesticated animal and a much better choice for pet owners. Wolfdogs normally only act like domesticated dogs for 1-2 years. At around the age of 3, wolfdogs develop into much more reckless and confused animals. Most wolfdog pups are lost to neglect, abuse, euthanasia, escape, and misunderstanding. Also, most pet owners donât have enough space to keep a wolfdog. Just like wolves, wolfdogs need space to roam, and high trafficed areas with cars can scare wolfdogs, as theyâre relatively shy animals
Wolf Dogs are such beautiful and wonderful animals. I had a Wolf/German Shepard mix and he was the most loyal and loving animal I can remember growing up with as a kid. Indigo doing better makes me happy!
I get your point, but actually they're exactly the same species, both wolfs and dogs have the same latin name as a species: Canis Lupus, they're just different subspecies ;)
If they were different species they couldn't procreate fertile offspring
Sloths are Beautiful - I agree but wolfdogs normally change drastically at two years of age - not three. As an animal advocate, I agree that wolves and dogs should not be bred.
@@spacebug30 Dogs are Canis lupus familiaris. Even though they can be considered a subspecies there are many differences between wolves and dogs, and because those differences came from selective breeding and adaptation to live among us, they are more noticeable.
People have problems providing dogs what they need, the mayority of people cannot provide what a wolfdog needs. You put that together with the fact that they sell wolfdogs saying they behave just like dogs but look like wolves and It's a recepy for disaster, that's why wolfdogs sanctuaries are full and they breeding should stop.

Ok I dont see enough people talking about those GORGUS ice blue eyes on that dog and with her midnight coat Oh My Gosh one of Gods many Masterpieces
This is the first time Iâve heard that a wolf dog actually had more dog tendencies. Usually they are super moody and will tell you if youâre allowed in their pack. Granted she has to walk it 2 hours a day and itâs destroyed two couches but still
Depends largely on how much wolf is in them and how much exercise they get. I have 2 wolfdogs, a Cane Corso, and 2 mastiffs. A lot of people want that wolf look in their wolfdog so they get high-content wolfdogs which is really where the behaviour is definitely more wolflike. With most low-content or a good deal of mid-content you can get the wolf appearance but without much of the wolf behaviour. More dog like in personality.
But much like Bengal cats people want to see that 'wild' behaviour which is where you get overwhelmed owners and under exercised/worked/trained dogs and thus a bad reputation.
Both of my wolves are high-content and they definitely exhibit that wolf mentality and behaviour. But I also keep them exhausted and do search and rescue with them as if gives them an outlet for their prey drive. They are a dog that NEEDS a job. They need an activity to do. I average a 22-30km walk every morning, some seeking exercises, trails up the mountain after that and some toy time and then when they're finally tired I can try actual serious command training. And I do it all again after I get home from work. On average probably half my waking time is taken with the dogs.
There's also the added problem that many wolfdog hybrids that are high-content can't physically digest kibble and have to be on a raw diet...guess how expensive it is to feed a 140lb wolfdog never mind two. Another problem that comes up with hybridization is that (much in the same way a mutt is healthier then a purebred) the genetics can produce a dog much bigger then either parent (one of my wolfdog's heads come up to my shoulder when he's standing on all fours. He's almost twice as tall as my Cane Corso)
I've met several wolf dogs & they were all so beautiful & well-behaved. I always wanted one but have been too afraid because I have cats. My friends have said it would probably not be a good fit, especially if they're not young puppies. I'm lucky to have rescued dogs from the street who love my cats. It makes me happy just to see yours has a wonderful home!
Thanks for rescuing them.đđđ Your cats are lucky too.đđđđ
You are wise to keep cats separated from a wolf dog. My first dog was a wolf hybrid and he was loving and well behaved. But their prey drive is stronger than a normal dog's and you need to really be aware of it. Mine never hurt or killed a cat but he tried several times. They need special care and environment to thrive, not a good choice of pet for most people.
We have two wolf dogs mid content and they are fine around animals they have been introduced to. We had a Foster fox and they did great with her. Every situation is unique
If the cats ran even in play the prey drive in the wolf half would likely kick in and a cat would become dinner.
Karen Sellers unless they grew up around other animals I wouldn't suggest getting one, even then my wolf dog killed a chicken accidentally during play. They aren't dogs you can keep your eye off of, mine also killed baby magpies out of malice cause the adults had been pecking at him. They're smart and have very sharp instincts.
