r/Insaneparents I've covered a lot of crazy parents on this channel, but the parents in today's video are the craziest of the craziest. The father in the first story wants to cast some sort of evil vampire Christian spell on OP that sucks out his life force so that the father can literally become younger. We've also got a mom who forces her kids to drink their own... well, you'll just have to listen to that one for yourself. Alot of heavily religious parents have this mindset.....I got punished for loosing mine at 18 and my mother not only physically attacked me when I stood up for myself, but her and my step father took my phone and my laptop(which I paid for with my paycheck from my first job) and would hide them from me. She would then go into my room to secretly check up on me, and because she worked with me, told everyone not to let me use their phones because I went against their orders.

That's my abusive mother. I was just hitting 10 years no contact with her when the pandemic hit. She tried to use the excuse of 'being worried about me' to reconnect. I let voicemail take it then immediately deleted the message.
It occurred to me then that she cannot really be sure if I am alive or dead at this stage - my name is unusual so I never use it in social media, etc. A friend volunteered to call my mother just to set her mind at rest on that topic. But: 1) I don't want to subject my friend to my mother's BC, 2) I know that (in my mother's eyes) would open the door for her to try harder to contact me, and what I admit in a secret dark place inside myself, 3) I kind of enjoy the fact that knowing I wouldn't contact her even during a pandemic, and that she really must be uncomfortable about not having control over me any more, and that she must also be uncomfortable not really being able to find out anything about me, even if I am alive or dead, must be driving her absolutely crazy.
I went no contact for my own mental, physical, emotional, and every other aspect of my health. I stay no contact for those reasons. But, yes, I am also at the point where I am staying no contact because part of me enjoys the fact that it has to be messing with her head.
Turn about is fair play, eh? :D

The first story is quite funny as being a Christian, this man goes against so many teachings that the Bible talks about. For one, do not commit murder, but it also says in the Bible that by thinking things, you already did it in your heart which is not good. This Dad goes on an insane trip about thinking of killing this man. Also, forgiveness. The Bible says you should always forgive, but this Dad won't. If God can forgive everyone for their sins, why can't this Dad forgive this man. And, if this was not rape, his daughter was as much to blame for happening as he is, regardless of their sex. That religious dad started by saying he got over it, but what really sent him over the edge was learning that his daughter wasn't OP's only partner... not that his daughter's sexual relationships are his business, but OP's and his partners' are DEFINITELY none of that man's business.
And no, dummy, you're not the one who determines whether he's made proper amends or not. Especially since you already forgave him and decided to take it back for reasons wholly unrelated to your family.
Why is it that religious people tend to understand their religion LESS than those outside of it? Genuine question.

There are people who understand their religion, and there are people who use that religion as a weapon and an excuse to be horrible. The man used his “faith” as a weapon to condemn the guy, which is totally against Christian doctrine. People choose to not know about their religion/faith so they can cherry pick what they believe and how they practice, which gives a bad name to true people of faith and it’s abhorrent. 13:25 - Paramedic here. My heart really goes out to the other family members of that kid, and to the crew who responded to that call. I've dealt with victims of neglect and abuse (all adults, so APS got involved), but I almost never have pedi calls. Those are insanely hard on an emotional level, and all the worse for it being so completely preventable. I hope that woman serves time, and her other children (which I'm sure exist) are placed with someone reasonable.
Edit: "tubed him" means putting a plastic tube down into the airway to keep it open and stable. Probably an endotracheal (ET) tube, but might be one of the others.
"coded him" means chest compressions to keep blood flowing, squeezing a big plastic bulb into the tube to push air into the lungs (called "bagging"), and running medications into the patient via an IV line to try to get the body to start itself up again. A typical code goes for 30-40min before deciding the patient is dead (which is a whole 'nother process), but it's not at all surprising they went longer for a child.

I'm assuming it isn't the kids urine because they would notice if their mother was taking their urine. What would she explain that as?
Kid: mommy I need to go to the bathroom!
Mother: just pee in this cup sweetie!

Mother: takes pee to the kitchen and puts it in the fridge.

When I was a preteen, I needed bras so I told my mom about it and she said, "you aren't developed yet." but I w a s. I had to ask my friend if she could buy some for me with the small amount of money I had as a 12-year-old. I got them - wore them and when my sister and mom found out, they accused me of stuffing my bra (: And they wonder why I'm not comfy talking to them about this sort of thing. Don't EVER accuse your child of something like that - especially in regards to their our puberty and development. This is just one of the plethora of reasons why as a 19-year-old, I don't feel comfortable confiding in my family what-so-ever. Another thing was when I had lost a ton of weight through unhealthy ways and when I spoke to my parents that I feared I may have an ED, they said, "oh, that's normal. you're being overdramatic," despite that fact that I was bulimic and I told them so. Two years later, I'm not recovered but when I began showing signs of BED, I was shamed almost daily.
You'd think, "Oh, maybe this is a one-off thing so they assumed you were being dramatic." Nope. I've been fixated on weight since I was 9 and they know this.

“Parents need to stop and let the kids handle it.”
So, if the kids have to handle it, you should know that they’ll handle it violently. Kids don’t know that it’s wrong to punch people, and at fourteen, they’re at the point in life that they hate the common tropes of resolutions in movies, especially those in *disney.* That includes talking about their problems to try and peacefully. You *know* they’re gonna get in a fistfight.

    • @15stargamer98
      @15stargamer98 Pƙed 4 lety

Alright dude I don’t know where you learned anything, but please compete to win a Darwin Award.
Teens are not inherently anything at all, apart from growing. If they’re violent, it’s because they were raised to be so. Teens don’t hate the trope of resolutions, they just are seeing that the world is more complex than a Disney movie and are still emotionally feeling stuff out. If you think teens aren’t going to try to talk out their issues before they break them, that’s just wrong. In fact, the woman in the spotlight for that specific problem was being told her teen’s emotions and that he needed some emotional support, but was promptly spurned.
Teens aren’t going to get in a fistfight at the drop of a pen, and thinking that teens are all pugilistic is a serious issue. Most settings a teen could get into a fistfight in, primarily school, would seriously punish both sides for participating in a fistfight and you’re literally delusional if you think that the school would offer any form of effective help to stop the bullying.
People like you, who think that teens are one-dimensional, contrary bombs ready to blow up at a moment’s notice are the main reason that the idea persists across generations.
Tl;dr: you’re wrong on a fundamental level and you’re only worsening the problem by trying to say that it’s not a big deal, since bullying can quite measurably change how a person thinks about themselves, and thusly how they perform, drastically for the worse. People, regardless of age, are like flowers. You don’t just let weeds grow on a flower, you’ve got to be an active, but not controlling, force that they can turn to if you want them to be able to know what to do about it in future.
Now I’m not agreeing with the parent here, since she’s literally a lunatic, but you’re not right in your assessment either. I don’t know what your adolescence has been like, or if you’re still experiencing it, but teens aren’t just going to punch each other unless they have serious beef with each other.
Bullying is about lowering a person’s perception of their own value, telling them they aren’t worth anything, and slowly getting them to believe it. Kids who are emotionally wrought enough to come to others for support are pretty much beyond the point where they would start a fistfight because at that point they are starting to question their own value themselves, and their ability to take their aggressor in a fight as a result.

We (I'm also Christian) are not even supposed to follow the Old Testament laws because we have a new covenant. In fact, we shouldn't even follow the rules made by Paul in his letters. Because they 1, are addressed to specific churches with specific problems, 2, because Paul "or more accurately Paulus) was a product of his time. He was an important apostle but his words are not law. Jesus is the one we need to listen to the most. Paul's letters are without worth or meaning but they have to be read with understanding of their origin. Same with the Old Testament.
