- Just as a little break from the recent Tokai guitars, i wanted to see what peoples opinion on this as an acoutic tool, or if youve considered this before? I think if someone wants an authentic sounding acoustic guitar as a live tool or home recording tool this guitar presents some interesting things.
Its no replacement for a real acoustic of course, but interesting!
Thanks for watching! And sorry again for the camera cutting out.
I own one of these guitars and was pleasantly surprised at the playability and tone. I really enjoy it. Thanks for the video,
After your review I bought this and it does an amazing job on stage for those occasional ballads especially in Drop-D. String volume is perfectly balanced for me and the onboard EQ does an excellent job.
No way glad it worked out! This was one of my earliest vids and learnt so much since so nice to know it holds up haha.
good day .. thanks for the informative video, I would like to ask if the guitar is ovation and are the first three strings nylon or steel?
Its not although they make similar if not same ones. Its acoustic strings 😁
ele é totalmente sólido no corpo?ou ao menos, onde é o cavalete, para que o tampo não empene mais fácil com o tempo? obrigado
what is string guage?
hi everyone, for who owns this guitar, could a roland gk 3 fit it in or there is not enough room between the strings and the body? thanks to who will answer
I think it would fit. There is also just enough depth in the top to chisel down very slightly if you wanted abit more clearance. But it would be a job for skilled hands!
Nice guitar and playing. What song at 5:22-5:40? Really nice playing.
The past recedes by the great John Frusciante :) Thanks dude, over 2 years ago one of my first vids!
Thanks for the video. I am very interested in a thin body acoustic which feels electric. I’m assuming the action will be high and also it is probably fitted out with 12s. If I get the axe, I’ll try try to replace and adjust top nut and bridge piece plus switch to a set of 10s. Hopefully the pressure on the bridge setup will be enough to activate the pickup.
You made a nice honest video demo.
Again, thank you.
John Paiva
Thanks for watching. If your in the UK give Nilam Music a shout and tell him i sent you. He really knows how to set these up to play like an electric with proper action gauges etc.
Greetings, I actually bought one a few months ago when there weren't many reviews on it. I must say I was impressed with it from the start, so far so good I also have a Martin but they are definitely two different guitars, but I am able to get some great sound out of it and it is totally comfortable I sometimes forget how much I paid for it. I had a Godin in the past a this JN I must say has really surprised my.
They are great value little tools if youre open to them. Since this video went out i have heard of a small number of cases of the bridge coming off the guitar as its mounted ontop on the laquer which isnt ideal. But other then that there a niche little guitar that does a good job
Excellent 👍
Many thanks
@@Paul-D hi greetings from France 👋. I m waiting to get this guitar délivered, bought it second Hand.... If you get to read this: which acoustic AMP are you using? I m contemplating getting one.... Bye
This was a while ago but if i remember it was the blackstar 30 w Id acoustic amp. Affordable amp tbf. The marshall ad30 is often found cheap used and thats good too
@@Paul-D merci beaucoup ✌️
I wonder if I could have a Fender tele or strat necked installed on one of these?. I would use this for gigging.
I guess you could but there would be a fair neck pocket gap pretty sure these necks are wider
@@Paul-D The Fender Strat neck bolted up perfectly! Had a professional luthier set it up. The neck pocket was exact along with screw holes, etc, even though the neck at the bridge is wider than a Fender neck. Plays even better now !
What string gauge and brand do you recommend for this guitar. I have one and I was thinking about electric guitar strings on it.
I would just use Ernie ball earthwood extra lights personally :)
@@Paul-D Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated
Dall'Inghilterra all'Italia!
Very nice. How thick is this guitar's body please?
Marginally thicker then a traditional tele
Porcupine Tree - audience goes clap clap clap
