    my standard at least at this time is the Taylor GS Mini. not sure if they would classify that as a parlor guitar but it is definitely not the old Dreadnought size that I used to haul around all the time. Don't have one yet waiting for it to go on sale but it really has a really good sound to it. Something worth comparing to.

    J.N. makes some awesome guitars, their Cigar Box Guitars are also great.

    Great sound and variety! How about a review with only the stand mic so we can hear the acoustic only voice? Thanks!!

    As a journeyman layout metal fabricator, the "old fashioned has proven to be not only the most accurate, its also simple - Sometimes - most of the time - if it isnt broke - and its ptoven and reliable - there's no reason to complicate

    Have you played the newest Aura sound that Martin has out? And have you tried out the new Yamaha Thr10X with any of your instruments? I have seen them demoed on youtube, but not enough room in the budget for a purchase as of yet.

    Quite Helpful. I have a parlor conversion -lap slide- and it is set up for Open D and G. What problems do you think I might face? Where should I begin. I am also learning acoustic guitar. I heard that is different from lap slide. Can not find many videos on the subject. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Nice guitar. I think the trick to 24" scale guitars is raising the action a hair, the strings just need a little more room to work properly given the reduced tension.

      Yes, but that means replacing the nut every time you won't to play a bit of slide ?.

    • @MikeSavageguitars
      @MikeSavageguitars Před 7 lety

      You can work to a compromise if you want to play slide and picking or fit a nut riser, or you could simply raise the saddle instead of the nut. I meant just for regular playing as the short scale increases the arc of the string vibration and requires more room to fully produce the note.

    Well done demo. In this price range, I think the Alvarez parlors like the AP70 sound significantly better, much less boxy and more beautiful to look at. Same for the Fender PM-2 Parlor.

    Well on a an imperial note, we Americans like the British foot pound inch method. Sorry. I have an education which versed me well with the metric system. But my dislike of metric is simple. Using mm is quite unnerving. I don't have the eyes of my 20 year youth. I don't measure anything to the 64th of an inch. I save that for matching which I use a veneer caliper or micrometer for. I can calculate with fairly good ease imperial measurement. Also, I was not raised in life thinking about how far 90 km is away. It's fine if that is all you, but I don't, Americans don't and never will. We have gone through time using this method and it still works.
    I love your metric Channel, and subscribed and even watch the commercials to help out. So you see my .05£ is just another 7 cents.
    Great job!
    😊

    im not really sure what i like about this guitar. at one point while listening, i thought wow! i liked the electric sound lows, but the mids? highs? got too piezo quacky. i loved the boxy sounds conducive to most parlors that have depth. maybe because you used very heavy strings....

    Please! Alway play first! Give viewers something to admire first. Then you can 'clap-trap' all you like!
