So I've got my carpet pulled up in my living room and thought this would be a great time to do a video on my new Black and Decker Cordless Drill and Impact Driver combo set. I'm really enjoying not having to drag an extension cord all over the place. Even though this set comes with 2 power tools, there's only one battery in the box. The nice thing is that this battery works with all of Black and Decker's 20 volt cordless tools. It simply clicks into place and feels very secure. It also adds counterweight to the handle so the drill feels totally balanced.
On both the drill and impact driver, the forward and reverse switch can be easily accessed with a thumb and index finger. And the handles are covered in a tough grippy rubber material. Near the heat vent they attached a clever rubber gasket so the drill won't slide when it's set down on it's side. And like most drills these days there's an LED light next to the trigger.
On the drill in particular, there's a bit holder on the back for storing the included combination Philips and flat head bit. But I always keep a set with me so I've got all the attachments I need for whatever I'm doing. The Black and Decker cordless drill also has this torque dial. And to be honest, this is the first drill I've owned or used with this feature. It helps prevent over-tightening of screws.
Moving onto the impact driver, it's almost exactly the same as the drill except it's a little stubbier in front. But this is what you need to drive in tough screws which I demonstrate in the video. The front of the impact driver is different than the drill.
And if you've never used one before, here's how to insert a bit. Just pull out on the collar, insert and release. It's now locked in and secure. To remove it just reverse the process. The bits that are compatible have a little notch at the end that the driver holds onto.
If I need to use something other than just a Philips head, I can attach a magnetic holder and insert the square, hex, flat or other bits as well. And I've listed everything I've talked about here in the description so it's easy for you to find! One more thing about the impact driver is that in addition to the anti-slip pad at the back, they've also added a small rubber pad on the front. I've found it really helps to have this here and it would've been nice if the drill had this too!
For so long, I've been using my corded Ryobi drill and it still works great... But I'm fully embracing cordless tools after owning this Black and Decker combo for about a month. It's so nice not having to grab an extension cord or find an outlet to plug in. And this Black and Decker drill has plenty of power to drive in screws. The drill setting on the torque dial is perfect for driving screws into wood. But even in my floor, there are some tough spots. So when the screw head starts slipping, that's when I grab the impact driver.
The impact driver has a jack hammer effect that drives the screw in the rest of the way without stripping the head. And it's nice to have because I put a lot of screws into my floor to help stop the annoying squeaking I had. I'm definitely impressed with it's performance! And as I mentioned before, this is the first time I've owned an impact driver but it's awesome when I need to drive in stubborn screws!
Overall this Black and Decker cordless drill and impact driver set has been an awesome purchase. Normally the price is about $100 but I often see it discounted on Amazon. They're part of Black and Decker's 20 volt tool line so the batteries will work on a lot of their other tools as well. I've since purchased their cordless reciprocating saw and just the other day I bought their cordless trimmer. All of them are great for everyday home projects and they're very affordable.
So when you're ready to go cordless, give this Black and Decker drill combo kit a try! If this video was helpful please give me a thumbs up and hit the subscribe button to stay up to date on all home repair projects!

Bought the combo about 2 weeks ago for 80, also came with charger n battery. If I would've bought just the impact driver (charger, battery) it wouldve been 75. Been using around the house works great

Yes! This tool combo is a great deal! And it goes on sale occasionally. I have a few other Black snd Decker cordless tools and it’s nice to be able to swap batteries between them all. Just watch the prices and they’ll go on sale at some point. Didn’t know why I kept using my corded drill for so long!

Nice! Great price for 2 tools! I use mine all the time. Mostly the drill bit the impact driver has come in handy at times.

I bought this exact same package about a year ago. I like the driver a lot, but the drill I find extremely useless.
