Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is a 2013 action-adventure game, and the sixth main installment in the Assassin's Creed series. A sequel to 2012's Assassin's Creed III, the game will see the player take on the role of an Abstergo Entertainment research analyst as they explore the story of Edward Kenway -- father to Haytham Kenway, grandfather to Ratonhnhaké:ton and an ancestor of Desmond Miles.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag will be set primarily on and around the islands in the Caribbean Sea during the Golden Age of Piracy in the early 18th century, with the three major cities consisting of Havana, Nassau and Kingston.

The pistol swords are probably the most anime weapon you could have in an Assassin's Creed game.

Exact same setup I use : pistol swords, golden flintlocks, and Mayan outfit, it's the best way to kick some ass.

Me: Why not? If it's the same thing that Kenway's using, it's only impractical in combat if you actually try to use the "pistol" part of the sword at long range
Not because of the already poor range of firearms of that time period, but because the length of the sword would probably make it hard to keep steady with one hand, and since most of the weapon's length is a sharp blade, there's not much room to place a second hand that would keep the weapon stable.
I feel like that's why I love how Kenway uses the pistol swords. You can't aim the pistol swords manually like a pistol because he knows that they're not really great for shooting at a distance. So he uses the pistol part of the swords at point blank range, where he practically can't miss.
This is all just pure speculation on my part. What would I know?
The pistol sword reminds me of Captain Harlock somehow, he has some kind of sword/rapier which the "blade" is also the barrel

First, equip pistols or rope darts. Then start a kill streak. While Edward is finishing off one enemy, highlight another target, and hold the tool button. When the killing animation ends, he will perform a double tool kill.

Cant unlock the pistol swords, i had 100% in the progress tracker and in the achievements i got 25/30.
I never liked that outfit, always looked weird to me, then again when I play o wear the whaler outfit so what do I knowXD Awesome gameplay as always!

@@paraskevaspapantonakis its an armor from the first civilization its cannon to the AC lore people complain about Odyssey because you ride magic unicorns, fight cyclops and minotaurs, the story is trash, the animations in the cutscenes are trash, the characters are lifeless, the RPG combat is lame and its not an AC game

I'm 2 months late, but anyways. Right after killing someone, press the pistol tool when you're close to some other enemy. It only works if there's still another enemy left
I think at times you forgot what the armor does lol.

Hey friends, currently trying to decide if I'm gonna buy this on Steam Summer Sale (Between this and Far Cry 4) I own FC 3 but have never played an AC, I'm very interested in playing this one but the ship bits don't look very fun, so with that in mind, how much time would I spend in-game doing ship related stuff?
There's a lot of ship stuff, but it's a lot more fun than it looks.
you spend half your time doing ship battles. it took me a month to finish this game thats without all the collectables)

kill someone with your main weapon, then hold whatever button you use to shoot ur pistol or rope dart.
i played this game on xbox 360 so if i wanted to jill 2 people fast i just pressed Y twice(makes Edward shoot the guys)
Actually, what you do is this: Get in a fight with at least 3 enemies, at least 1 or 2 of them being some you can easily kill (normal guard or knife-wielding guard) Kill one enemy with a finisher (the kill animation caused by counter kills and the end of combos (using someone as a human shield also counts). If someone (they can't be an officer or a brute) is still close enough to you when the kill animation on the first enemy ends, immediately use either your rope dart or pistol on the second enemy (the one close enough to you). If this works correctly, it should trigger the animation killing the two enemies. It may seem complicated, but it's actually very easily done, and I actually do it all the time (it's very effective and ends fights a lot faster, as well). If you read the instructions I just gave and then look at what he does in the video, it starts to make a lot more sense. EDIT: look at 0:26, it's a perfect example of how to do it.

you gotta finish all the assassins contracts to get that pistol swords including the ones at the forts
@@thauhirbenjamin3648 I thought they are Naval Contracts? Because in order to get the Golden Flintlocks you have to complete “Naval” Contracts which it says on the fort, So I don’t think those fort Contracts count as Assassin Contracts because the only way to Complete them is through Naval Battles and stuff. Hope you understand.

Ya have to hit a counter while fighting with a group, then he goes into like a killing streak force when he can lay a finisher on other enemy's without counter. So when he goes to this killing streak mode, you just have to push the button that is for shooting instead of an attack button, and he will kill 2 in the same time.

@@ezioauditoredafirenze3501 It's been a long time since I played this game, but if I remember correctly, it's not a counter, you have to get him into a killing streak so that he will kill the next automaticly with one hit. In this killing streak, you either have to press or hold the shoot button (triangle I think).
