    Made it to mighty ruler 2 days ago. Here are the patterns I noticed from red players:
    1. If you are far away from each other in neutral, they WILL do a running move to get in and get plus frames. Side step/walk when far away or when you see them start to dash forward and whiff punish.
    2. Red ranks abuse power crush and heat burst like crazy. You need to be hitting them with your fastest lows and get them to start crouching asap. Then you start hitting them with your big mids. Also start grabbing them early because grabs will beat armor.
    3. Abuse grabs in general. Hardly anyone can break them at this level. Just don’t use 1 break grabs because everyone is mashing 1. Start practicing grab breaks on your own time
    4. Try to always be plus and take your frame advantage. It’s crazy how much people still mash at these ranks. You’ll be frame trapping people over and over and they will still mash.
    5. Start offensively side-stepping if you know you are -4 or better
    6. If they heat burst to get you off them, expect them to heat smash right away. Let them waste their heat.
    7. Everyone at these ranks has a trick they abuse. Figure out their trick and they will crumble most likely.

      @@momarenah969 if you’re -4 or better, you have enough room to side step and dodge some people’s moves. Usually just their jabs. If they do something with a bit of tracking you could get hit but that is why you sidestep into block. If you’re sure your opponent will mash something, you can sidestep, let them whiff, and then punish

    Don’t worry about your rank so much, just work on getting yourself better. From the last chart we had your rank means you’re better than approximately 65% of the players that makes you good at the game, so at this point I recommend you just focus on small improvements on yourself and eventually you will continue to move up. Which leads me to my final thing have fun in the red ranks because once you get to blue rank people start to plug when they lose and it becomes less fun.

So with that information being a red rank would actually even put you higher. Don’t try to be a gatekeeper being in red rank is a good rank. I also suffer from Acute Analysis Paralysis. It's inevitable, the mid-match overthinking. Meanwhile your opponent presses ALL the buttons. Things will improve as you become more comfortable with your character and the game mechanics, then you'll be on your way to a sweet, sweet flow state. Keep at it, good luck out there!

    80 matches already! I can hardly believe it.
    You're right about keeping things simple: I've met Jin players in purple ranks who use very simple gameplans, but it takes a solid defence to counter it. Though, another important part is to keep your gameplan simple, but unpredictable as well. I think what happened with that Tenryu Law at the end is he downloaded your flow chart and punished you hard for it.
    Here's hoping for Shinryu before game 100!

    All players out there shouldn't feel bad about not being able to perfectly execute your gameplans right at the start. Practicing something in training mode or against ai is completely different to playing a human opponent either in person or in ranked. It takes me a while myself, but practice makes perfect as you gain a sense of comfortability and confidence in your play.
    Great video as always btw! We need more channels like this that can make Tekken's overwhelming systems seem so approachable.

    I got jin to flame ruler awhile back and got bored and changed to zafina which my zafina is currently at raijin . Having played jin against many characters that blow u up against a wall u urself have really good wall pressure and damage.
    While in heat utilize ur b1+2 especially against a wall ! followed by ur df 3 kicks for sweeps .
    db4 4 3 against walls aswell it picks up at the end even if the oppenent is layed against the wall at a lower position
    B42 when u got them in a wall splat is a great way to reset the wall splat for added damage / pressure
    Ff2 is super important when u expect a wake up when there down aswell as f3 to keep them from pushing up / being agressive
    One last thing ur armor move needs to be used to stop pressure .
    With these tips u will have enough to address many player's in red ranks to respect the punish damage especially on walls

  • @OThatsNice
    @OThatsNice Před 2 měsíci

    Using ff2 is great for catching people on run ups and you can use 21 for frame traps and mix lows into it. Wave dash into 2 can prevent combos from hitting unless they’re ducking or use an unblockable attack. Also use f4 without holding for a counter hit and pushback. Def check out Devilster for a great example.

  • @aminaV_
    @aminaV_ Před 28 dny

    I have some tips as someone who's been playing since Tekken Tag 1 haha:
    1- Defense is super important. Even when you don't know the matchup (bc seriously there's just too much characters and moves/ strings in the game), then just block. It's not always your turn to press and that's why you end up getting obliterated so quickly. A lot of opponents like to frame trap you (even when they don't even know they're doing it, they just see what moves work and clip their opponents in a row, thus they abuse it)
    2- look at your opponent's character more than your own. This way you'll learn their flow charts and habits a bit easier and the animation of the moves they're using often. It's very important to try to try to memorise the animation of the moves. This way you'll know better how to defend against it later on in ranked.
    3 - frames are so important. For too long in T7 I was too lazy to learn then. I finally did like literally a month before T8 came out and even though some frame data changed, I was still given a headstart. With frames come punishes, so know your main character's 10, 12, 13, 14, and 15 frame punishes. I'd usually just use the 10 and 15 (especially when I'm unsure about the opponent's moves on block). The 10 frame punish is safe and the 15 frame one you'd only obviously use when they whiff a launch or you block their attempt at a launch).
    4 - Remember not to just be linear in the match. A lot of moves ppl throw at you can be sidestepped. Granted it's hard to know when you and which moves, but you'll learn the more you play and there are popular ones like the running 3/4 moves of most characters which is like a flying kick (or punch) than can be stepped. Many opponent (especially in low level) like to do this.
    5 - Just have fun! Worrying about your rank can make you nervous wnd anxious during the match. It can also make you mad if you lose. Its important to have a clear mindset as mood can really affect the way you play (been through that, it was not fun haha). I notice that when I'm patient and trying to read the opponent instead of just throw flow charts at them, i play way better xx

    @hollowedboi5937 Před 2 měsíci

    I’d say to focus on your i10, 12, 13, 14, and 15+ punishes. Knowing when you are and they are plus, or who’s turn it is, helps to allow them to dig their own grave. Have those come as second nature with the recording and defense feature in practice mode. Continue blocking to see how your opponent responds, what patterns they make. And clean up combos in the middle of the arena and to the wall. Rest is practicing seeing strings from players you fight that often clip you.
    And yeah haha the rage arts.
    That mid knee to low heel step thing Lili does gets me all the time so for sure I’m gonna be practicing that as one of my warm ups before online matches. (It’s like -16 or something if you block the low so that could be an opportunity for a hella good damaging punish to capitalize on)

    Winning, losing, it's all part of the process. Just don't fall into the trap of feeling like you deserved to win, or that the other opponent only got lucky.
    Don't be a brat.
    Getting better at the game is one thing, but the thing that carries you over is a better attitude.

This shit is broken and work even on normal games, not ranked.
