RED RANKS Are HARDER than you think

- As a beginner to the Tekken series I'm on a mission to play 100 ranked matches to see how far an absolute beginner can get! We've played 80 matches so far and now we get to 90. The red ranks have proven to be the biggest challenges for beginners and I'm no different but this episode we break past our limits!
- Hry
This is how I felt about red ranks back on TEKKEN 7. Thought it was literally impossible, but taking breaks helped me achieve Fujin. Breaks are imperative for when it comes to ranked. They help immensely with your mental attitude, which of course is very important when it comes to TEKKEN.
Probably because everyone else got promoted and all the same nooobs that you beat before have reached red ranks while you were taking a break. So when you return, you are just beating the same level of players you beat before and you think you have improved.
this guy definitely had to play for 10 hrs straight before hitting eliminator
This is so real.
@@Ryuuthegreatno….just no. Hell of a reach there buddy.
One string I recommend is 314, when they start blocking the low part, instead of 4, hold forward to get into zen and do up 1 to launch instead, it then creates a 50/50 on the string, its what helped me get from garyu to mighty ruler in 2 weeks
I second it
Loving this series. Keep up the good work!
I loved how the drag just flipped and gave up. I laughed so hard.
This has been lots of fun to watch. One thing to look into. A lot of tekken players add a heat move to combos without knowing why they are doing it. If you check practice you will find that unless you extend the combo in some way, you are actually doing LESS damage than if you finished it properly. Saving a heat smash for a "get off of me" moment can be a life saver not to mention if you get a move that puts you in heat, you get life back. Something to think about. Looking forward to more vids!
Very true. There's not always a good reason to add heat to a combo. I do it when I know I can use it for wall pressure and when the combo with guarantee half life even without losing heat. I also keep it for a heat dash as you can gain life from it and there's the potential to get a combo from it if it lands. Heat dash is also a nice get off me move. This wasting in in a combo that won't leave them with less than half life isn't good. Or spending it at the start of a round. Unless you have a very good reason for doing so lol. I use Xiaoyu and her heat is super strong, especially with her 50/50s and mix-ups. Her b4,1 heat activation move is also a 14 frame punish and her RDS 50/50 is strong so it's pretty good to keep heat in the game instead of use it up early on.
Ngl, dont be afraid to demote XD Cause the promo after will give u more points to restart higher than u were before. I've done this a couple times, really saves time from having to get those points up again.
But you did amazing against that Drag, great sidestepping, even tho u got clipped, u still tried and it worked most of the time. U broke his grabs pretty consistently, so you are definitely improving alot. Keep it up.
You have good energy and vibes. XD subbed.
Damm this video popped in my algorithm after verbally complaining about being stuck in the red ranks. We in da matrix 4real
Great content man. I’m also a tekken noob so I feel the red rank struggle
It’s definitely hard but Tekken is too much fun to quit
Love your content keep it up 🙌
Thank you! Will do!
Round 2 of the drag fight went hard ngl
1,2,3 is not a frame trap. It's 0 on block. A frame trap is when you have advantage. Also, 2,1,44 is way riskier at -31 than 1,3,4 at -13. It's also easier to see for people who know because he drags his foot for like 5 frames. If 1,3,4 gets blocked, you're taking 30 damage. If 2,1,44 gets blocked, you're taking 70 damage. If your opponent starts blocking the low of 1,3,4, just mix it up. Do 1,3 back dash to look for a whiff or 1,3 side step, or 1,3,DF3 (DF3 is a 12 frame mid) or you can do 1,3 into another 1,3 and maybe finish it, maybe don't. It's all about being unpredictable.
Yoo love the content. I'm a Flame ruler Jin main and I can see you're missing out on a ton of free damage from combos, also good tip is to use the other heat smash the Jin has near wall since you can get 85 damage with a wall splat combo with it, and if it's blocked you get 21+ frames to get a free 50/50, also I'd suggest you optimize your combos and wall combos with jin, also after landing a heat engager you're always +17 so you get another free 50/50 with that, I'd say use Db,3 super good low poke that's +3 on hit, also DF,1 is a super good mid check and can used as a string with 4, can wall splat and is a very nice tool to catch people crouching, FF4 is also great for that leaves you at -4 and combos if you hit them. also always try to enter zen and get free mix ups that way moves that do that are 2,4 into zen, f4 into zen, b3 into zen, learn the options you get in zen and you'll easily rank up.
the tekken tag music on your first matches gave me such a nolgesta, gotta praise you Enjin for coming so far and may i ask you somthing?
thank you for the praise! whats your question?
@@EnjinFGC do happen to have your own discord server?, it would be pretty Nice to keep touch with ya,mate
Hey man, when you do your bound, if you’re not able to get to the wall then I think you should do crouch into ws1,3,3. It forces breaking step into 50/50 for the downed opponent. If they choose backroll then get hit with cd1, if they choose quick get-up they need to immediately block your hellsweep option. Sometimes people just forget that cd1 exists and they get reset with another launcher.
Hope u keep It up bro 🎉🎉🎉🎉 GET OUT OF red rank , YO CAN DO IT !!!
I started playing quick match to get used to the red ranks ! And still playing them till Im comfortable and more knowledgable to continue to get out of the red ranks .
So I was in Red Ranks up until tonight. Was it a fucking grind man...What pushed me over to purple was me bumping into a godlike Kaz named dtN_dee in ranked who was Tekken God in T7 and played since Tag 2(13 yrs.) No ass beating could hold a candle to that and I just sort of leveled up and went on a tear. My mental was so different after that.
I’m still in Orange with my boy Paul but I’m feeling good about the improvement I’ve made. Let’s get it!
You got this!
W video like always 🔥
It's crazy how being visibly stressed out might affect your gameplay. This Drag started going for the same sequences by the end of your match, there wasn't really even a need for paying attention to which grab he attempted - he only used the 1 + 2 one. I guess that's a good thing for someone like me, cuz I never can properly determine which hand goes out first lol
I think we should coin a new rank "God of demotion"
I haven’t watched the video, but as someone who got to fujin in tekken 7, I found hitting fujin in tekken 8, was way to easy, like a lot of people don’t know frame data, and just won with frame traps. Soo my tip, like phidx said just do frame traps. Also happy to see new people getting into tekken, hope u stick with the game.
Don't throw away 1,3,4! Use it maybe once or twice per set !! When used as a mix. It won't be punished normally. Always use as much of your kit as possible, when needed of course. Unsafe Strings, become SAFE on the MENTAL GAME. Always remember that! (I'm a Flame Ruler, also working my way up! Just some of the advice I was given from my local scene from Blue Rank / Tekken God Players)
They always tell me, "You gotta get washed before you can get clean." Keep on grindin' brother.
7:01 Mention, I was labbing KIngs' throws and saw that all his grabs when you're crouching are not breakable so caution if you opponent catches on💀
Currently my favourite series on CZcams, the dragonuv fight was cinematic.
Thank you !
Instead of just going 1, 2 and 2, 1 on a defensive opponent, try Ewhf and use the +5 it gives you! You can watch their tendencies, if they like to mash you can frametrap or step, if they keep blocking you can repeat ewhf until they are backed to the wall! If you spam ewhf successfully they will try to duck and you just opened up your chunky mid game! Sometimes people try to downplay how important electric is to jin I feel! Keep grinding execution, be smart with it, one of the best moves in the game! Gl keep having fun man!
Red ranks are only a problem to brand new players, which is the point of a ranking system.
You'll get there
I made it to Tenryu and lost like 6 matches in a row and now i'm back at Shinryu and extremely discouraged.
Hey bro from one jin to another, end your combos by doing df 33 (the feint that knocks downwards) into the df red eyes stance which grants a higher damage mixup, the normal thing to do there is 1 it hits people on the floor and if they do a wakeup kick they get launched but if they adapt by standing up fast do 4 2 for a hellsweep and if they try to sidestep do 3
Great tip im gonna try that
Oh shit turtle playing tekken I hope this shit blows up
very nice content man!!!
why so small amount of wathes/likes!?
Our favorite Punching bag returns
I tell you what it took me 800 matches to get to purple as a new player so you are already better than me lol
I’m red rank Jin player also and red rank is pretty tough
I still believe you little bro
if you going for grap use DF 3+2
Well, I'm just gonna tell you Jin's broken combo ender.
After you get your opponent on a tornado state, do:
Dash, crouch, While Standing 1, 3~3... Then hold forward to transition to Devil Stance, then press 2 to "pancake flip" them from the ground.
Once they flip, you are free to do a hellsweep or a Wavedash FF3 to launch them again and put them in the exact same situation.
I think u meant press 1 to cd1 hit them off the ground.
And if ppl escape this mixup by holding up u can apply 50/50 with ff3 if they block cd1.
@@riceyboi7069 Probably? I'm gonna review my inputs.
My little brother was using the move. He's Flame Ruler right now.
I'm a Blue rank Yoshi main, so I haven't studied much of Jin's moves yet.
@@AngeloGene yea it's 1, I'm a blue rank Jin I would hope I know the move I abuse 🤣
Just here to comment to boost that algorithm baby!
you are a certified W
Red ranks is indeed hard for us non tekken gurus I’ve been stuck at Shinryu with Nina for a couple days😂
we gotta grind hard they think its easy!
Yea bro it’s ok to lose man. You have to stay aggressive in this game don’t want to be the one on defense. I’m in the high ranks right now
Red ranks in 8 are basically yellow ranks in 7. Just need to get used to people mashing & never blocking. Once you figure out that out & their weakness they fall apart.
hype 🔥🔥🔥
Got lock in red but only cause i got tired of the game , and in 3h got purple you just have to spam until you get the rythme and then be lucky and not endup againt à tekken god who up his second caracter
You can escape going down! Hope i helped! ;) ahuhuauhahua
What do you have you rank specifications set to no restrictions,2 only or 3 preferred
It’s set to 3
@@EnjinFGC hmmm ok
5:27 look point more than rank cause 140 mean over tekken ruler (130k)
11:56 You're plus 7 when you hit a low wake up kick. You should have thrown him there instead of letting him attack. Also on D2 you're plus 4. You should be doing WS4 or WS 1,2 or a throw there. You have really good movement and throw breaks, with some more frame knowledge, you'll get way past red ranks.
Instead of just going 1, 2 and 2, 1 on a defensive opponent, try Ewhf and use the +5 it gives you! You can watch their tendencies, if they like to mash you can frametrap or step, if they keep blocking you can repeat ewhf until they are backed to the wall! What are your matchmaking settings I’m in eliminator with Kazuya but I’m getting matched with Fujin ranks
