âshow us evidence â
starseed girl: âbut thats limitingâ
lmao what
Itâs not limiting. But science have has a limit. You wonât find empirical evidence for everything. You cannot prove the past happened with empirical evidence.
NR Ramirez i can agree with that to a certain extent but i dont believe we can take her word for being a reincarnated alien as actual proof. however, its not like we can be presented with an alien body or have any physical evidence presented to us just yet, so most people rely on the statistical probability of aliens.
Angelina LasiÄ I agree, there is also evidence contrary her claim. Because if sheâs talking about just the physical realms (by what is empirically observe) , then in this physical realm itâs unlikely for that to happen to her.
Unless an alien were to bend the laws of nature and cause someone to be an alien. Then that could be probable, but not reasonable. That would be an âidkâ position. But the evidence thatâs contrary to her claim would lead to a âno that canât happen to herâ
Her parents could also attest that she isnât an alien. The hospital she was born in can also attest.
And I think that astral projection can just be explained away with lucid dreaming.
@Nobody Wtf
@@tan1591 There's deductive reasoning and inductive reasoning to determine conclusions. Neither side can really deductive conclude that it is guaranteed she is right or wrong. However, through inductive reasoning I'm pretty sure most rational people would see the vast amount of evidence stacked against the idea of "starseeds" and conclude that it is most probably incorrect and not a real justified belief. I don't think she could even really give much evidence to suggest that it is probable... So I feel like I'm inclined to just see her as being irrational for holding this belief...
Anyway, when it comes to the part about proving the past, this is actually a thing in philosophy. It's the Omphalos hypothesis essentially, or the "five-minute hypothesis" the way Bertrand Russell puts it where basically you technically can't prove that the universe and everyone's memories and such were not created as little as even 5 minutes ago... There's various problems with this, but one is just the sheer fact that it is unfalsifiable AND unverifiable through science... That means it's basically on the same level as unicorns and centaurs flying around extremely distant in space... I can argue that it doesn't make sense for there to be space unicorns and space centaurs, but neither of us could really prove or disprove it without being able to see the whole of maybe not even just this universe, but all universes and things that might be similar to universes and so on... Still, if I provide evidence about things like the lack of oxygen and lack of evolutionary evidence and what not to argue why space unicorns and space centaurs PROBABLY don't exist, then if you're a rational thinker you should probably be able to come to agreement that these things PROBABLY don't exist... That doesn't mean they don't exist, but like unless you have some weird inductive reasoning of your own to provide for why these things PROBABLY do exist, the inductive reasoning should be able to get us both as rational thinkers to the same conclusion...
Obviously the starseed thing probably isn't QUITE as ridiculous as space unicorns and space centaurs, but all the same I'm pretty sure if you went into a long debate over the topic then assuming you're both thinking rationally and not like emotionally tied to the idea or anything and haven't made it like a part of your identity or something like that to bias yourself into believing in spite of logic, then I'm pretty sure both people would quite easily come to the conclusion that it's ridiculous...
I mean, I guess you could get into question what is considered 'evidence' to support inductive reasoning when it comes to things like the raven's paradox where a green apple could arguably be proof of ravens being black, but that's a whole other rabbit hole to go down...

@illol xox Drugs alter perception in a way that affects how you perceive reality, any "evidence" or "Sightings" that comes while high is simply a delusion.
@@josephwayneliang6524 I wouldn't say that. Though I think most of the people that claim they have had some crazy insights on drugs are wrong, I do believe it can widen your perception of things. Like anything that's not related to an external concept or thing is a valid experience imo. Why would you deny that you can learn about yourself and your understanding of things when experiencing extreme states of consciousness? It's pretty common even without drugs. Think about people with near death experiences. As far as I'm concerned you learn from the experiences you make and it would be ignorant to say taking drugs isn't an experience you can learn from.

The statement "science is based on perception" actually angers me. The fact that mathematicians, physicists, researchers, and scientists have dedicated their life's work to observing natural phenomena and deriving equations based off scientific evidence and their accomplishments are being undermined by a woman who thinks she's a star seed.
Were these people drug tested before coming onto the show?
Yeah lauren really annoyed and irritated me.. She continuous to cut that older guy just to say "its perception"...i was like WHAT!?

I agree, these guys took drugs and then were claiming that they've seen aliens đœđł
Thereâs been a lot of beliefs from scientists FDA and more that have been proven untrue
Doctors have handed out vaccines they claimed to be safe and then years down the road find out it was contaminated with cancer causing agents, hint the polio vaccine given out around 1970. Much of science, doctors, and more is based on perception because it is trial and error and still continues to be because not everything works for everyone. Itâs like doctors have claimed being vegan is unhealthy yet for some people being vegan saved their lives. It is perception
Some people really can't comprehend that scientists aren't afraid to say "I don't know." That's the point of science: to figure out the unknown through evidence.
@@imjaysn8743 frankly i think that mental state is an extension of physicality. the fact that chemicals can alter perception suggest this, and our brains, like in many other organisms, heavily depend on this capability to enable life-promoting feats

This episode really needed a neuroscientist. These âout-of-the-ordinary experiencesâ from drug use can be easily explained with some brain science.
There is actual scientific research into DMT not being a traditional hallucinogen but rather a compound that may remove your brains filters of perception of reality, meaning that what you experience on DMT might very well be real.
This research is especially done by psychologists, neuroscientists, and pharmacists.
So yeah it's not as easy to debunk everything.
@@user-mk5vj5bf3j give source
They canât be easily explained though, which is exactly what makes them out of the ordinary. The current research on psychedelics is extremely scarce because of the legalities of researching illegal substances.
There have been studies that used mushrooms on cancer patients for example, and they found that a large sum of the patients came to terms with their mortality of death.
They did another study on clinically depressed patients and they found that mushrooms were extremely effective in treating their depression long term.
But they donât know why. You can look at all the parts of the brain that fire when someone is on these substance, you watch the levels of the neurotransmitters fluctuate, but that will give you very little insight on what the person is actually experiencing.
People are quick to write off psychedelic experiences as âhallucinationsâ which they are, but theyâre extremely complex hallucinations that take place in all 5 senses, that cannot be imagined, and can only be experienced within a specific state of consciousness.
The point Iâm trying to make here is you shouldnât judge people for coming to irrational conclusions based off of these drug experiences, theyâre trying to explain experiences that are insanely complex. And science has yet to explain it either. But weâre working on it.
Sources: Google âJohn Hopkins mushroom depression studyâ , I canât link it here due to spam
Ya, quite the opposite. Modern neuroscience is actually experiencing something of a revolution right now that is finding a lot of these crackpot ideas to have some validity. Expanded perception is like a fish coming out of water, seeing the rest of the world, then going back in to the pond and all the other fish not believing there is anything beyond the pond. The problem is that even the fish that left the pond doesn't really have the ability to comprehend it, so he comes up with all sorts of absurd explanations, that only make his case more unbelievable. This is how you get the guy in the video.
@@mikebarnacle1469 source
isn't the whole point of psychedelics that they do stuff to your brain...
yeah, and guy really doesn't understand that it doesn't widen the reality but just changing brain chemistry and making you think and feel in new ways. In a way i understand his point. You can't really say that it isn't real.. because he does feel it.. but then again, it is still just reactions happening inside your brain. It is real for him, but not real as a grand reality
Itâs an interesting topic because so many things in our lives do things to our brains. Watching TV, playing video games, the food we eat, the music we listen to, the way we move, the things weâre taught. Some may say that these drugs can help to undo some of our conditioning from life. I donât know enough about hallucinogens and whether there is an eternal truth to the experiences we have. But I do know that most things in our lives affect our brains and therefore affect the way we see and perceive this world.
Juwarra I totally get what u mean and yes it could be the psychedelics messing with our brain and making us see stuff but my best friends dad was born blind from birth and he tried dmt and was able to see visuals it was insane.
Well yes, but like some things will "slow down" your thinking patterns theres no reason to believe that some thing will accelerate them or even make your brain able to "compute" information it normally ignores in your perception and that's what hes getting at. Now does this prove anything? No abolutely not, but it also cant be disproven
Dragon flies and shrimp even bees see varying spectrums of light, itâs all in front of us but when on psychedelics youâre able to see from a different perspective that is going on in front of you

I feel like the believer side didnât include people with a strong scientific or journalistic background. There are certainly more professional individuals who can make a different type of argument than a podcast host who had a psychedelic experience, an IT guy who saw a UFO (not the same thing as aliens and a personal experience alone is not sufficient evidence), and a woman whoâs unsuccessfully trying to make a spiritual argument for the existence of aliens.
Ya I consider myself to be a believer of alien life forms. That doesn't mean that I believe with 100% certainty that they have had contact with humans.
If the universe is as endless as scientists say it would be impossible for earth to be the only planet with life.
I also subscribe to the simulation theory though, it makes more sense than any other universe theory (in my opinion), it isn't a fringe theory either, many reputable scientists believe in it.

I am open minded if you're whoever, Asian, transgender, black, white, straight, but not if you're a star seed. That's just far -fetched and illogical.
@@xestien No it isn't illogical. It's no more of a nonsense that transgenderism. Both are about changing in regards to how you feel in your mind. In face, starseed may explain transgenderism because if you are an eternal neutral soul beyond gender, sex, race etc then it is entirely plausible you can become confused when you incarnate to earth and are stuffed inside a body and suddenly exist in a society of binary sexes.

@@xestien So you're somewhat open-minded.
As soon as she said âas a clairvoyantâ I had to stop lmao.
So please share what you understand about clairvoyency? Ever had an experience where you could see in your mind what might happen next? A lot of people have the gift of the clairs, myself being one of them. Don't denigrate what you haven't experienced, just because you haven't experienced it.
Most of the comments are either about the starseed girl or the guy who took drugs... But what about the black actress who says shes a skeptic but agrees with everything and believes in aliens
I don't if it's just me but if someone claims they saw aliens and right after that they start to talk about drugs and mushrooms... I'm gonna have a hard time believing them
Same
agreed, but it's fun to entertain them at parties when they start talking about it.
Iâve seen aliens as a child. Was not on any drugs.
They all have a strange view on aliens. I believe the definition of âalienâ is any life outside of earth. It doesnât need to be dorky looking green people. An alien could be as simple as a plant found on a different planet.

Always Send âdorky looking green peopleâđđđđ

Yeah but it was a discussion about alien life visiting earth. So most likely life with some sort of intelligence.
sertu It could be some type of living matter that was accidentally tracked in on a ship and brought back to earth. Idk so many different views on it.
8:09-8:10 Jubilee was like stating Linet as a skeptic and then slowly puts a question mark beside itđ.
26:00 that was the perfect ppint to solidify the olser gentleman's point. Science is not the beliefs more than it is the set of principles the beliefs are tested against in order to solidify the knowledge about what ever is being tested.

They should have gotten a believer who was not high, annoying, or spiritual. Because I feel that there could have been a much better argument with highly educated believers [which there are].
They should've, but they're probably hard to find
No educated person believes Aliens have landed on Earth
I feel like thatâs the case for a lot of the series here in which a scrutinized minority has to defend themselves (climate change deniers, flat earthers, etc. and less fantastical topics like socialism vs capitalism.) they always get rather unprepared people

Dominic was my favourite, he made really good points with statistics.
I believe in aliens to the fullest but I'm with the scientific minds in this debate. The 2 male "skeptics" made so many great arguments. I need true evidence to believe in what I believe in. I used to believe in the unexplainable when I was a kid but grew out of that as soon as I started learning on my own.

Jett Cooper tiktok, I have a large following on there and I do science videos
I canât imagine being the older gentleman listening to the guy saying drugs caused him to âseeâ real aliens. Hallucinations are things that you think youâre seeing but arenât real. He kinda debunked his own beliefs in a way. This episode was so frustrating to hear the lack of evidence on the believers side and hearing them keep cutting off the skeptics.
Yeah and I think what Dominic said at the end is very true. If we accept that idea of hallucinations being the "truth," then we have to credit people with schizophrenia and all these other mental issues that cause them seeing things. It's real for them, but it's all on their head. Hallucinations are not tangible things. An acid trip that takes you to another dimension is not evidence. I kinda feel sorry for these people that think they are on another dimensions when they take drugs. Just shows how dangerous drugs are. I feel like the guy with the white shirt has created this reality in his mind that he can attain only getting high, and he and the girl have immersed themselves so much into their realities that for them it's so logical.
Yeah it irked me that they kept interrupting the skeptics and I couldnât hear their points.
To be fair scientists don't know what psychedelics do to the brain specifically, they are just labeled as halicigens
Does Jubilee encourage the recreational use of drugs? Im not sure đ€

Every time Greg speaks it goes in one ear and out the other. Because after taking psychedelic drugs not only will you believe things differently, youâll also see the world differently than reality.
