  • Hey guys!
This is one of those difficult conversations I'm having with my followers. The reason for this video is to educate newcomers and students on tenant rights and to identify if you are being treated badly by your landlord. I will be posting follow-up videos on the same. Also, I expect people to be respectful here and not pass aggressive comments as this is a very emotional experience for me to share. Hope this video helps!!!

Thanks for sharing . Its useful for all young people. You handled it well. Someone less mature could have got more affected by this. Its not easy to share living space so easily with anyone let alone strangers. Requires very good understanding from all involved.

I've had such bad experiences with the owner and the tenants. In fact, I was once almost physically assaulted by a roommate for politely asking them to let me finish washing clothes. Since then, I decided to never live in shared accommodation even though it was a few hundred dollars extra. Some students might not be able to take this route due to financial constraints but if one can afford its best to live by yourself then get exploited by "landlords" or even roommates in some cases. If having your own place isn't an option, it's best to get awareness from such experiences of others and make yourself ready for any such situations you may come across and set your mindset to tackle it.

Keetu, Your videos are good. Keep making them by giving your perspective.
Be it any relationship, its better to communicate and set things straight from the beginning to avoid unpleasant experiences in the future. Upbringing matters a lot. How we treat others irrespective of the person's background requires some good spiritual knowledge. Most Indians in US lead a life of a small circle of fellow indians and rarely interact with non indians or even participate in any protest, marches wrt social issues.
Whereever one goes, one should try to be a part of that society, engage in issues for the common good and make friends with people from different cultural backgrounds.
I never experienced any culture shock or racism personally in US. I was influenced by western thinking even when I was in India and i could easily befriend others. As a research person in Mathematical Physics, I had friends from different countries and would introduce them to vegetarian food.
Wish you good luck in your future endeavors❤

Keetu, all this experience or story is not actually about them or about you.. it's about lesson of life... you should learn from it then forget it and move on... if they are bad then it doesn't mean all are bad or if someone good then all are not good.. so this is just a lesson of your life which make you mature and help you see things more clearly...

That’s not why I’m making this video.. this is to create awareness on tenant situation.. it’s got nothing to do with my emotions..

Keethu sorry that you had to go through all this, unfortunately you not the only one - to put it diplomatic it’s a very “ Desi “ mentality.
At the same time please don’t think all of them are like this the desi - Slave Master minded landlords, I’ve been on the other end and often regretted for being kind to people.

I agree with you.. not everyone are like these people but I’ve also experienced more animosity and hatred from fellow Indians than other people in Canada..

Hi, dear. I've got acceptance from Calgary University and memorial for master's in Environmental engineering and ESEM respectively. There is $14,000 difference in fee as well. Please suggest me where to go and also share your experience while studying in memorial in the same program I applied and living in newfoundland. I've been following your videos for quite a long time,so also suggest how can I seek your valuable advice.
    Regards,

You will have to decide what you want to choose.. unfortunately I can’t help make that choice.. good luck with your studies..

@@KeetusDiary, many thanks for your kind reply. I only want you to help advise if University really matters? Since, we both share common backgrounds, environment, is there any difference in courses in both universities. What you can really do for me is to give some wishful words regarding, housing, key contacts, part-jobs, or anything which an international student needs to be aware of. I wd be really grateful to you. I'd more than glad if could reach you to seek advice time and again during my studies.
Please suggest where( on which platform).
      Regards,

Another thing, I have already submitted my visa application for Calgary on 15th May, and got acceptance on 26th May from Memorial. Please advise how to change the University at this stage.
      I wd really thankful 🙏.
