You had to much slack on your line and it went above the drone. By that it caught your rotors, and thats why fail. I have seen it before happen to others and thats why when I do it I have tension on line and making sure line will always be nowhere near rotors.
This is correct but with one slide differentiation. I went too far, not paying attention to my line and it jerked it back causing the line to be wrapped around the rotors. I was trying to pay attention to the drone and lost sight of how much line was out.
He sent it out over 500 feet his line on spool would have run out and the rod would have pulled drone in hence reeling it in. What happens when you don't watch your line on spool.
Not so much oscillating but I was not watching the line and I had no line left. When that happened it jerked it back and wrapped the line around the propeller and it just took a nose dive into the water.😁
If you washed it with fresh water quickly and then blasted it out with high pressure air.....then did the rice trick qhere you bury it in rice to absorb as much water as fast as possible. I have seen that work with other electronic equipment dropped in salt water, though it's no guarantee. It may save at least some of the components, which would make replacement of the fried parts less harsh on the wallet. Worse case scenario you may have to replace a mainboard or the motors. Theres actually lots of vids here on youtube, including fixing drones that have taken a dive. You may have to open it up and dismantle it etc.....but if you can fix it, you've saved yourself 1500 bucks...and you'll know more about its internals, youll be less worried about damamging it again .....plus, you'll have the satisfaction of having fixed it...or at least tried to fix it (coz if you cant fix it, you havent made anything worse by tearing it apart lol)
Thanks for watching! I was upset but I understood the risk when I did it. The drone is not meant for fishing but you can rig it so you can drop bait. Anytime you rig something for a purpose it was not designed there is always some amount of risk you take.
In the sun you can lose site of the drone and the camera is not always a good indication of where you are. Also, there are times when the drop doesn't always release when you think it does. It could be delayed or not drop at all. With the wind and the other conditions, I thought it dropped so I went higher but ran out of line and it pulled the drone back and got the line wrapped around the propellers. That was the end of that. I will use my bait boat, see new video, now instead of using a drone. Drone is nice but I recommend getting a used cheap one and out fitting it. Just make sure you do some research of how much weight it may be able to carry. DJI Phanton 3 can do the trip and there are others. We will get another drone but use it mainly for video and I might get another one to use for bait.

That might of worked but I did not have fresh water of anyway to blow it out quickly. If I did, I do agree with you, it might have worked again.

I sended dji and pay 200 usd , than they send me back the new one !
