- In todays video we talk about the use of GEOs to suplement the gaming experence with Seasons for Farming Simulator 19. There is a discussion on how to add one to your game play, when to aded it for an existing game save, as well as a comparison between four currently avaialble GEOs. The standard base GEO included with Sesons, Wales, U.S. Mid-West as well as the Snowy Lands GEO.
The second half of the video is spent running thru a full year with all four GEOs to demonstrate some of the differences in sunrise/sunset times. Daylight temperatures and expected weather patterns as a result of the different GEOs.
Been watching this playlist being experienced with Seasons 19 and there are things i never knew! Very in depth series, I enjoy the relaxed tone. Keep it up!
Glad you like them!
I really like that Midwest GEO, I just wish there was guaranteed snow every winter. Maybe not the most realistic but I like the challenge of having to deal with snow all over the yard whenever you try to do any work in the winter.
A Deep South East US geo, that would allow cotton and sugar cane. Also hot dry summers, with occasional evening showers. A non existent winter or snow/ice storm of the century. Once again awesome video.
Emerald coast now has just such a geo built in.
Celcius - 0 is the freezing point of water. 100 is the boiling point of water. A comforable temperature is around 21 degrees. A very hot day is in the 30-40 degree range.
Man i love your indepth style of videos..keep up the great work!!!!
Great video again ....
A lot of work went into making it!
Thank you!
So i just tried turning on all GEO's.. since it can only run 1, it will pick one. In my case it was the top obe in the list. Dont know if it is random or always the top geo, but there you have it
Hello Farmer Klein. Love how informative your videos are. I have a question regarding GEOs on console..Xbox to be specific. Or if anyone here knows, I could use a little help. Will I be informed in any way that this change has been made or will the weather patterns just change on their own? I installed Seasons, and I also installed snowy lands. I checked them both off and loaded the game but nothing really changed. Maybe I didn't wait long enough? Maybe I did something wrong. I'm not sure. Thanks for your time
Great videos. Have not been able to get a second harvest out of seasons yet. It’s all part of the fun though. Made comment before I watched all the video. Midwest Geo looks like a good choice for double cropping
Yep. currently its the only choice for double cropping.
i added the new straw processing mod to a running save with seasons. in winter it started to snow straw pellets.
Yes this seems to be an issue with existing saves in that the filltypes can register on top of eachother.
What bug?
@you laugh you phill Thats not a bug with seasons thats a 'feature' of the base game. This will/can occur on any mod/s that add additional tip to ground items. The base game does not register the tip to ground items so when things are added or removed that add tip to ground filltypes the index values can change which can lead to what used to be straw suddenly becoming snow. Or what used to be snow suddenly becoming potatos ,etc. If filltypes where properly registered the index values would not change and when you removed a mod that had new filltypes that could be on the ground those filltypes would be removed vs possibly transformed into something else.
Does a geo replace seasons or do you need both?
A geo is an addon to seasons so it is used in conjunction
@@FarmerKlein 10-4 thanks man. Havent played in a while geos are new to me.
The snow falling sounds like rain some wrk needed there. Also don’t understand Celsius lol
SMA Clean and Green 0 degrees is water freezing point. -1 is frozen +1 is liquid. :)
ya that's the easy part.
So is there a GEO mod thats allows you to do 2 harvest in 1 year on 1 field? As in harvest in autumn, then seed before winter, harvest that crops in spring and seed new. than harvest again in autumn. I heard people daying it was possible with the MId West GEO in FS17 but looking at the plant/harvesting schedule it seems impossible to me
As outlined in the video the midwest geo supports a double harvest on a single field.
@@FarmerKlein oh, that's my bad. Thx again for the informative video!
HI i know this is an old video but please help!! i cannot get snow lands to work on console. Do i need to select Base Seasons mod and the GEO i want or just the GEO i want to use and not seasons as well?
Yes you must select both Seasons and the GEO as the GEO cant do anything with out the base Seasons mod also active.
@@FarmerKlein BRO THANK YOU!! Huge respect for replying on a video this old, just earned yourself a sub :)
I try to reply to any commet I feel needs a reply that I see regardless of video age. And thank you for the sub I hope you enjoy FS19 and when you move to FS22 there will be helpful content here for you then also.
So how do you actually activate the geo itself or do you just put it in the folder and that does it?
Same way you activate any mod. thats it.
I am having some problems with seasons I just mark seasons with no geo and it won’t work but if I take off seasons it works idk
Not sure I follow. what is the issue? it wotn work if you have seasons enabled but with out seasons your save will load?
Ok thank u that was my problem lol
Hey, FK, what´s up? I have a doubt concerning the extra fert state regarding Seasons. I´ve recently played on the Brook map available in the modhub, with the updated version ready for Seasons a couple days ago. I bought a field and when I used the subsoiler to plow i noticed I was getting 33% of fertilization, although i was not using any fert. So yesterday I tried Oak Field Farm Seasons ready and did the same process, but did not get the fert bonus. Any ideas?
Hi Ricardo, FK has show that the 3rd fertilization state is give by the behind-the-scenes crop rotation mechanic! Basically if you use the crop rotation planner in seasons you'll be able to plan for and achieve 100% fertilization state more often.
there are many subtle mechanics of seasons that it is hard to say why exactly you saw what you saw. maybe you cultivated in a crop on the field and that gave you the bonus stage. impossible to know given the info provided.
@@FarmerKlein Thanks FK. I really could not figure this out since both my tests were done on a new savegame, hence the fields got reseted. The last test was done after the recent Seasons update so I really don't know if things have changed regarding this subject.
@@Jared91090 thanks for sharing this Jared. But I really could not figure this out since both tests were done on reseted fields (new savegames). One thing I realized though, was that the test done on oak field was after the recent Seasons update so...
Question, Can you use irrigation for drought?
Those mods spray liquid fertilizer. There is no concept of adding moisture to your fields beyond good ol natural rainfall. At least at this point.
I downloaded snowy lands and season's mod. Now it's snow all the time even though I uninstalled mods 🤔🤔
If you remove seasons snow can't exist as that filltyoe is associated with seasons. There can be some interesting things that occur if you remove seasons with snow on the ground.
Planning on swapping my Geo from Hazzard County to Mid west so I can double crop. I plan on doing it the first day of spring year 2. Think it will work?
I think hazzard has its own geo built in based on midwest. it might allow double crop already. If you do this I would not plant crops in the fall just to make sure swapping it does not affect growth stages and germination levels
@@FarmerKlein agree, I started from scratch and want buy land until spring. The Hazzard Geo has no spring grain harvest. I appreciate your expertise.
@@FarmerKlein swapped Geos just after midnight Spring d1y2 no problems.
How do you get the geo mods, they arn’t in the mod section in the game
sure they are just search GEO and you will see them show up in the farm sim mod hub on the website. If your on console I have no idea what category they are listed in.
Which map?🥺
All seasons how to videos where done on the base map Ravenporot.
@@FarmerKlein ok thank sooo much broo keep up the good work😊
Is it possible to run more then one geo? Just curious how this works
No. Also it is not advisable to change geos while there are crops in the field. Things could turn out rather bad.
@@FarmerKlein thanks
Ok!! So here's the problem Iv'e got. I have just started playing Oakfield with 9 day seasons, I'm now at the start of day two, and the weather forcast shows no rain for the next 5 days. I want to start planting as soon as possible, but now I'm really worried about the ground being too dry for anything to germinate. There is absolutely no signs of any precipitation. What should I do? do I wait and hope that the forecast is wrong, and there is going to be rain, or do I try putting in another GEO. I was thinking about either the Welsh GEO, or there is a new one released today for Herefordshire, and both of these GEO's are in a similar geographical area. I have not yet planted any crop as I have been busy just prepping the fields., so there should not be any problems with losing any crop by putting in another GEO.
you could plant a seed that is more resistant to drought
@@RealismusModding I could do that, but don't forget I'm playing on a UK map and like to keep things as realistic as possible so planting crops like cotton which is very drought resistant is not an option for me. Most of the crops that I want to plant have no drought resistance at all. Please don't take this the wrong way, because I really love this mod, but It really sucks that you can't water plants with a sprayer, or some kind of irrigation system. My soil moisture is currently at 17%, so what's it gonna be like in 5, or 6 days without any rain. This is probably gonna wipe out my entire season.
Real farmers face the same issue and potential risks. Of course they have real money and loss to worry about vs our virtual. Day two is still very early with another 7 days left to plant. Your just going to need to decide do you wait a few days and see what happens and still have time to get the work done or do you move ahead and hope for rain. I would not change the geo. But I am one of those I made a decision and im sticking to it good or not.
@@FarmerKlein Yeah, I get what your saying, but real farmers would not leave there crop to just wither if the conditions were very dry. They would water them which is something you cannot do with Seasons 19. Also, just think about what would happen in real life, in the UK, or any where come to that, if there was no rain at all from about the beginning of March, to the end of June. It would be devastating. reservoires would dry up, crops would wither and die, and I'm pretty sure a state of emergency would have to be declared. I'm going to wait and see what develops, but I'm not going to plant anything until conditions are suitable, and if they are not, then I'll just have to write the first planting season off, and maybe try and get some winter crop in. The one thing I'm not going to do again on other maps, is to use the default GEO.
What map are you on?
Ravenport.
How do you add them to your map
you just activate the one geo you wish to use as its own mod. some maps have GEO's built into them and if you enable seasons it will use the built in GEO vs the one that seasons has unless you activate one of your choosing. the order of priority is 1) a geo mod 2) a geo in the map files 3) the geo in seasons.
Ok thank you
Where are the tornadoes? :)
Folks are having a hard enough time with drought loss.
I can't! It's a Geo!!!
The GEO in the Season's mod suck. You get cold spring wet falls hardly see the sun. In the Snowleylands GEO why show a crop, you can harvest but you can't plant? And snow shows up without it snowing.
Snowylands is never intended to grow crops is for folks to play in snow. The base geo is to emulate the weather in a select location in the UK. No two years will be the same as there is no assurances of rain or sun just % changes that change during the game year.
The Welsh geo is garbage, based on a steriotype of Wales not the reality, should have been done by someone in Wales or at least England
