- I try my best not to complain about the rain, because it makes for the absolute most beautiful footage. That being said, it is beginning to make my job a little tough lately. I have been having to stop and wait a lot for winds and rain to die down, either to film, explore or even just drive safely. None of this is really a complaint though, I am enjoying my time down the coast tremendously. Wind and rain along the coast is one thing, but snow is another, and it sounds like sections of California are getting hammered with snow. I was hoping to head inland from Bandon Oregon, and then do some of the interior of California, but it's looking like that wont be an option so I am sticking to the coast. At first I was a little bummed out about this decision, but that disappointment quickly turned into joy when I got to see the unbelievable stone structures along the southern stretch of the Oregon coast. I think this was actually my favourite section, so I am very happy to have gotten the chance to see it.
All of the beautiful views aside, lets dive into the dune buggy adventure. Getting out and enjoying the dunes was really a necessity for me. I love any action sport, and any toy with a motor. I grew up spending my summers in Florence, and riding the dunes was always a highlight for me, so I really wanted to share that with you all. I have always been a huge fan of desert racing and rally, so I just couldn't help but push that buggy to the limit, and apparently a little past. The broken component ended up being the steering box, which stripped right out. Whoopsies. All in all, Florence was good to me. I had a couple of nice crab feasts, I was given permission to park at the Casino with power and I got to shred up the dunes. Florence also has a very nice beach, but its NOTHING compared to the unbelievable beach at Bandon. Wow that thing was amazing, and I wish I could have had one more day to enjoy it. Finally, I was so excited to see the wreckage of the Mary D Hume. I love history, I love ships, and I love shipwrecks, so its needless to say that this was a pleasure for me to see. This is one of my favourite episodes in a long time, so I hope that you all enjoy it as well. Me too‼️ I knew this guy was famous - he played the kid w the inhaler on GOONIES in Oregon coast‼️🤣🤣🤣
Holy hell Yes!
Oregon Coast line is just so amazing. Drove down it twice in my life. Also loved the sand dune riding.
Your killing it Dustin, thanks for the videos I love exploring but I'm too broke to go and do what I love so your videos are great motivation for me
dont let broke be a reason. I am sure Dustin thought that and just did it.
Dustin, you're content never ceases to amaze me! And the music is spot on.
I loved the old ship . You always wonder why someone didn’t save it these things have a soul and should not be just left to melt away and forgotten . Thank you for telling its history .
Thank you so much for helping me relive some of my most fondest memories with my dad, in our motorhome! Great video!❤

Dude! Epic videography! Ya crushed this one. Virtual high five!
Great video Dustin, storms included.
Gotta say the music works great. Very much worth it.
Dustin that was super cool as my wife, a native Oregonian, has told me about the dunes at Florence for years. I’ve ever been there, but it’s on the list. My wife’s a Pisces (water baby) so I know she’d love to go…
Looks like that old ships seen better days and if they want it to be around much longer they’d better get it to a dryer location...
Thanks for another great adventure.
Safe travels
Thank you for taking us along on this and all of your adventures Dustin. Your channel is one of the few I really look forward to. I know I am later from this video. But if you should see this post, Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you and your entire family.
God Bless!!!
Probably my favorite video. I lived in Florence for 12 years and miss it so much.
This was beautifully done. You are very talented.
It is always fun reliving our childhood.
Keep enjoying life. Stay safe. Peace.
Love the Henry hat! Thanks for supporting awesome local artists along the way. =)
I remember that lighthouse: took one of the best pictures I've ever taken of it, the combination of the sun peeking through the clouds was just perfect! Oregon is such a beautiful place I've dreamed of for so long and I'm definitely going back soon.
Probably one of my favorite episodes too, great views, great music, and seeing you get all giddy for a cool find always warms my heart.
I've seen waves crashing up and over that lighthouse! Love knowing you are in my part of the US. Oregon! Love your vids! You are one talented man😁
You inspire me! And your choice of background music is awesome!
Oh Dustin, wow! You captured the beautiful Oregon coast! I have never been to the state but it's on bucket list. Amazing videography and drone shots! Great editing dude!
When you go to Oregon go up the Columbia River Gorge at least as far as Hermiston , Umitilla. Lots of things to see like the military storage facility ( looks like a random cluster of ant hills ) .
There are alot of "Mary D. Humes" out there.....just resting....waiting....exhaling in their slumber. Great show Dustin Porter!
Really enjoy your oregon trip. Nice to see you exploring in my neck of the woods.
My friend, I am envious of you. You are living the life I always wanted to. A few pieces of advice if I may... Stay free, don't let life get in the way of your dreams. And, NEVER...EVER GET MARRIED. I wish you the best 👍
Can't wait for the "Lets whip it!" and "Leave only Footprints" merch. lol
Drone footage was fantastic ! Thanks for sharing the ship wreck..... real 😎 ❗

Thank you
Once again Dustin, thank you for sharing your adventures.
Love it.
Good On Ya.
D,
Great episode! The amount of work you put in must be huge! Safe travels.
When I was growing up I lived in Baywood park, Morro Bay and next to the Montana de Oro State Park in Los Osos California. I never knew just how beautiful it all was until I had moved away for 30 years. Now, I regret not taking full advantage of all the Wonderful beaches, Dunes and Forests they offer. Back then as a teenager. They were just private party spots but nothing special. You can never really go home again. It just wouldn't be the same.
*Today the best vacation aren't Man made.*
Great video. Very beautiful country even if it is raining. Your videos never disappoint.
The best clam chowder ever !! I found mine too there. YAY !
Dustin now that was top end adventure you packed in the quality on that one. Amazing videography. I've not been south of Seattle but made me feel as if I have, thanks.
As always, great video and thanks for taking us on your incredible adventures
It has not been the best year or so for me. (Enough said) I found your site by accident several weeks ago and started watching. Thank you for inviting me to travel with you and showing me around North America. The world is not so bad when you're traveling with friends. I cannot wait to see where we go next in our adventures.
Loved this video! I drive the entire Oregon coast by myself in my Suzuki wagon way back in 2009. It was the perfect way to move past a bad breakup. Such an incredible place to do some thinking and exploring. There are lots of beautiful green agates on one of those beaches. Others have lots of milky agates - you just have to slow down and settle in for a walk and really *look*. Since you missed that lighthouse, you should try for Cape Blanco. I visited that one on my trip. It's high up on a headland, with incredible views even if you don't get up the actual light. There's also a lovely campground right there.
That beach was beautiful an loved the ship too. Thanks
Im so glad that you got a better boat!
You were freakin me out.
Dustin I’m having a blast watching your videos!
Another great one! Spectacular finish with the wreck and the sunset! Keep em coming!
Oh God this is the coast 30 40 yrs ago. My favorite times there. A true winter coast experece. Now I hve to head out and dive the coast tis week before the storms pass. Thank You for the memories.
Lots of editing and aim at getting good video, you did a wonderful job Thanks for the sounds of the waves. Have a great weekend, the best advice I can give, is to use your instincts.
Great video as always Dustin! I love the soundtrack of your videos!
I thought this area looked familiar, especially when you described the sand. Yup, 4th Generation Oregonian here. Im in the Rogue Valley, Medford. You made it look great, and it is,,, but dont tell anyone :-). I used to be a professional photographer and I say that for perspective when I say, you sir did an incredibly great job making the best of lighting!
If interested, I have photo' s of the Mary D Hume from 15 years ago and would be happy.to share. That poor thing has been beat pretty hard and the 2011 Tidal Wave from the Japanese quake really did some work.
Hopefully the next videos shows Brookings and Harris Beach, and the first place I surfed in Crescent City, California = South Beach. So cool to see you "here". Enjoy!
I really love your post. I'm fairly new to accessing Oregon from California as I live near Yreka now. I first heard good things about Brookings several years ago on a trip from the Bay Area to Cresent City. We skipped the coast to check out the cave near Cave Junction. Justin did a great job. I now want to do an Oregon coast trip asap. Gold Beach is becoming more interesting to seek out.
@@nancysmith2295 Over the years Gold Beach hasnt been getting near as many visitors as Brookings. Ive seen many businesses go under and some of the Motels have declined in quality. I dont say this to deter, just providing insight and recommend you research motels before booking. Some started renovating during COVID and still dont have pools and spas open,,,yet. The restaurants that are still open are open because they are all good. The low volume of tourists makes for a peaceful getaway without crowds, especially on the beaches. If you like to fish, Gold Beach is the best because much of it is done at the mouth of the Rogue River so the water is calm and you wont get seasick. My wife and I watched several salmon being caught from Jots Resort, where you can charter boats at. Irelands is another unique motel with Beach access (pool/spa is being renovated) The Family Pizza Parlor is my favorite, Spinners, the Porthole = all awesome. Hope this helps!
Love watching your videos, thank you for the adventures
Moved to Salt Lake City after high school in Coos Bay. Never quit missing the ocean.
Yay, Bandon! Go Tigers.
Young Lady, everything has not been found. Never will be. Mysteries yet abound!
🤦🏻
Awesome video!! I have lived in Oregon my whole life and been to some of these areas many times. Thank you!
then we got back to the interesting videos that Dustin produces.
Awesome shots and music
Another great video! 👍👍😎
Highway 101 is an awesome trip . I did it a few years ago with My Daughter , We left from Victoria .
Saw you in Bandon. Great pictures of our beach. We love it here. Enjoying your trip. Have fun. Ivan and sally
So miss Ty's r us . Lol another great one .
Great Job Dustin!
Nice to see you passed through Gold Beach. There's some cool back road camping up river a ways. It's prolly got a foot of snow up there now, but stunning in the summer. Great video.
Hey bud, you put out great content!
I could literally smell the salt water!
As always great content Dustin
This was a great adventure. I love the coast. I moved to NE oregon over a year ago and still haven’t made it to the coast yet. Now I have thanks
thank you for that i enjoyed it very much.
Another great one Dustin...Thank You!
I grew up in Coos Bay which got missed on your trip this time. There are some neat places there like Sunset Bay, Cape Arago. Cape Arago is where there is a site where an old mansion was built ( circa 1900) on the cliffs of the ocean. It burned down (twice) but there are still its formal gardens and some awesome storm watching as the waves crash pretty big on the rocks there. It is fun to dee you travel through the area where I grew up.
Jeremy, shush yourself! Just kidding, yeah Dustin definitely missed the jewel of the Oregon Coast, Shore Acres. What's worse, he missed it on a day with big waves. Oops... never mind nothing to see there, move along... :-)
I have visited this area before. It is so beautiful and rugged. Thank you for taking me back.
G'day mate, your adventures look so cool, your hard driving on the sand and those cold windswept beaches, only on thing l would need if l were there, a hot Rum and Coffee drink, a lot more Rum than coffee, thanks Dustin, drive safe, cheers, Neil 🤠.
great watch bud. hope you have a blast !!
I have really enjoyed this particular series , as l live on the Oregon coast. Ive either lived in , or been to all these places in these video's. Bandon has one of the most breathtaking beaches on the pacific coast . It tickled me to see you enjoy it so much !😂
You're actually close...more than usual. I'm near I-5 Yreka, California. One of our coastal trips we stayed in Cresent City across from the Native American Casino. The prime rib was great. We were in the vw vanagon high or fixed top. The rv park had power at a few camping sites. It was a welcome relief for power, laundry, and showers. We lived in Fairfield, Ca at the time. Now we're in Montague east of Yreka. It snowed here the other day. We need this weather with snow and rain. The
reservoirs are low. We have two near here that aren't. Iron Gate and Copco. They, however, are going to be destroyed to restore the Klamath River. One hope is to bring back the salmon population. It's a nice space out there at Iron Gate. We have seen eagles, bobcat, and coyote out there.
Amazing video Dustin. Super good to see you at Thanksgiving!!! Keep on keeping on, you rock!!! Thanks for the content I have had fun watching your videos 👍😁🤟
This was an awesome surprise comment. Thanks for enjoying amigo.
@@Destination_Adventure of course! Hope you had a good Christmas D 🤟
You Totally squeezed Winchester Bay in there sooo cool 😎 to see it from your perspective. From Perpetua to Port Orford is our adventure stomping grounds man. Love the Docutrip, sooo many awesome Beaches no way to see them all. We have been hitting them for years and only scratched the surface. You we’re smart staying on the coast we got hammered with snow!! Maybe on the way back you can hit the Volcanic greenway through the Klamath Basin to Crater Lake 👍👍 tons of cool 😎 stuff to see. Collier State park Logging museum, Jackson Kimble park float the wood river. Tons of stuff. Keep on trucking buddy we’re watching 👍👍
Just awesome 👏
I liked the "Don't chew do it." I play that game too. And you could have stopped by here in Oceano dunes near Pismo Beach. Rentals for days. We locals get the dust from it, but I'd have coughed and wiped the tank lid for you. Journey on Sir!
I love your going through Oregon, it’s my home state I lived in Eugene
Dunes party!🤘🤘🤘🤘
Excellent!!
The Oregon Coast is one of the roughest most dangerous oceans in the world during the winter. Rip currents, sneaker waves, monster surf every year 👍
King tides good video buddy
this turns out fine.. patience is a virtue and it shows in how you captured this one. thanks for sharing
Your cam and vid skills are top notch my friend
To see the ship right away, jump ahead to 17:44.
🤔I knew I recognized you‼️That guy from THE GOONIES‼️🙋♀️The one with the inhaler‼️👈🤣JUST JOKING‼️Looks like fun!👍KEEP on keeping on‼️ Merry Christmas 🎄 & happy holidays, world 🗺‼️🙂 ps. MY parents gave me a little convertible to drive in HS. It looked SOOOOO cool 😎, black lil spyder TR7 (European). From age 12-15 I stared at that car 🏎in the garage. Dang, I knew my DAD had a plan! He bought me the most gutless race-car🏎 on earth! It had it freakin’ 3 cylinder engine. This man knew I was gonna be a lead foot & I AM! My first race at 16 was w my friends Mazda RX7 (a Mazda against a JAG🤦♀️) & I lost w my foot to the floor, revving those 3 cylinders singing like ummm 9.3 horses 🐎🐎🐎🐎in the red zone. Now ya know why I drive a AWD, traction-controlled turbo lots 🐎HP Benz SUV‼️Fast‼️💪WANNA RACE?‼️ oh & I love the 🛳 ship-wrecks history & all. My Gramps in California built his own boat (for the OCEAN 🌊omg😳) and nearly killed us on “fun trips” a few times 😆. I am in N DAKOTA now - 13 below zero Fahrenheit right now🥶🙄🥶 - can’t wait to get out this summer w my teens‼️😅 (☝️& only redeeming quality here is the spinning on ice 🧊- love it).
Man... some of the best cinema photography i have ever seen, love ya work. 👍👍👍👍
Iv got a min bus in the uk I’d il be on my travels soon man thanks for your inspiration ❤️👌👌🪝🤞✌️⚓️🧲🧲🙏⚓️
Love the chowder side note. Best I've had in my life was a seafood chowder in St. John, New Brunswick
I gave up waiting for you to pick me up! 😲😫😆 That's alright you just enjoy yourself in the sun. While we stay behind in this crappy cold rain!
Yoooo that jellyfish transition??? Good shit! You’re a pro videographer
Bahahaha. Thank you for noticing. I thought that was a fun one.
looks like fun. Gramma Candy
The bike jump into soft and wet sand 🤣🤣🤣
Love Gold Beach , we were just there a few months ago and stayed at motel 6 by the bridge. Our friend lives at the end of town going south off 101. Loved it there !
Neat old ship wreck .
