  • What is the point of living, if you cant has as much fun as possible? At least that's the way I see it, and today might be "product testing" day, but dammit Im gonna make it as much fun as possible. Several weeks ago, Turboant reached out to see if I would be interested in an E-Bike. Im pretty loyal to the Gnarley Davidson, but I absolutely see the value of having an E-Bike. For most adventures, I personally would prefer the GD, but when Im in cities, or scouting boondocking locations, this bike will be so handy. Needless to say, I agreed to test one of their bikes, and I am wildly impressed. When my family and friends asked how I was planning to test the new bike, I told them I was going to try and ride it to the top of the mountain, and then go down the abandoned asbestos mine. They all laughed at me, and said "it's never going to make it up there" but who's laughing now? This bike went up there no problem, and even more so it came down the steep mountain face no problem as well. I have no interest in doing "product reviews" on this channel, but if I can make it into an adventure, that sounds good to me. I can officially say, that this bike is Adventure Certified. If you're looking into getting a E-Bike, Im excited to say that I have a code for you, to get $250 USD off of this brand: USD$250 off code: INDA250( For T1/N1/S1)

    I used to ride a lot of mountain bike and the best advise I can give you when going down steep bumpy hills is keep your weight as low and as far back on the bike as possible so if your front tire hits something you don't go over the handlebars. That advise comes from a lot of bumps and bruises.

    • @Ganiscol
      @Ganiscol Před 2 lety +3

      Dont swing it too far off the back, though. When your arms are fully extended, you can no longer respond to anything your front wheel hits. Butt back, but your elbows still need to be at an angle. Imagine you roll off a small drop with arms fully extended - you cant push the bike forward under your body as your front wheel leaves the edge and it will just fall down like a rock and over the bar you go. 😅
      The right fame geometry and fork angle is what makes riding steep downhills easier aside from riding skill. The less you have of the latter, the more important the former becomes.

    • @messagedeleted1922
      @messagedeleted1922 Před 2 lety

      @@Ganiscol yep if you can, drop the seat post lot of first timers don't realize hoe important a low sest is when descending (lol if you have a dropper seat post its a no brainer) . Allows one to get lower behind the bike without having to extend your arms to far.

    A couple of eBike things for your consideration. 1) When using throttle from a standing start ease it on, it doesn't like being snapped to full on from a stop. 2) The battery bar monitor thing isn't like a fuel gauge in your car. It takes forever to get past the first bar but they don't drop in a linear fashion, each succeeding bar goes away a little quicker.

    My boys play in that skidder quite a bit . Looks like you went russet bluff way end of south lakeside . If you go straight past the skidder your headed to the bluff . Lots of serpentine up there at the asbestos pit . The bench was put in sometime this summer was a sweet surprise for date night . We head up starting over on paxton and do the whole length of the mountain if you follow moose drop trail you’ll hit a really cool treehouse by the beaver lake . If you follow the B mark on the trees you’ll end up on the other Side of the mountain in chimney valley ,comes out across from brunson lake . There’s a huge inukshuk on the way worth stopping at . If you head past brunson brings you out by colepit lake rd . If you ever get a quad or dirt bike we’d gladly join you on an excursion ❤️ thanks for sharing your adventures

    Cool upgrade for sure but the Gnarly Davidson will always have a special place. Does the new bike have a regenerative battery braking setting ? I was re-watching a number of episodes and while doing so had my grandson (just speaking multi words) join me (grandma not happy oh well) he picked up on your "Don't Get Stolen !!!" right away. Now every time he gets off his trike he walks a few feet stops look back points at it and says"Don't Get Stolen !!!". Its so totally cute and funny, grandma and daughter/mom not seeing the humor in it. Its a sentence and no swear words :-) . Looking forward to your Mexican adventures.

Three questions: 1) What is your range with a tank of gas on the gnarly Davison? 2) What is your range on a charge with the e-bike? 3) What the hell are you going to do when the battery is dead; you can't just pour more gas in the tank (wink wink)?

    Anybody giving advice on how to ride a bike. Stick it. Sloppy, off camber, hybrid tires and a life threatening rutt.
    Knobblier tires and mud guards with more clearance. Just so the bike can keep up with Dustin.

    Cool bike. Does it regenerate while coasting?

    too bad China has this market locked down tight. Now it is just a branding industry, minor tweaks and slap a new decal on it. I like the idea of self builds. But a nice review none the less.
