100% Agree. Although it's definitely more than what just about any trail rider will need, this sled seems to be great all around and the slight upcharge looks to be totally worth it. And, for the type of riding we usually do here in the U.P. and northern Michigan area, I'm pretty convinced this should be my next sled. Hopefully I can snow check one in time. Thanks as always for the great top to bottom perspective.
Thanks Ted!
Have one and absolutely love it. Order one you won't be disappointed
@@adammack4772 I'm tryin. Lol
I totally love mine
Thanks Snowtrax another great video. I own a 21 renegade xrs 850. Love the sled. These XCR from polaris are great sleds also. Never been on one. But rode an assualt 850 in the axys chassis. That thing rocks. On and off trail. Smooth power but pull and the skis are up!! Off trail you can lay it on its side. Polaris has done an amazing job making the ridged chassis work. It makes average guys look good off trail. Thanks for all your great inputs on all brands 👍
Thanks Travis!!
I honestly think it’s insane how something that already seems perfect can still be improved on. What are the new improvements that are going to be on next year’s sleds? To me, it looks that you can’t make it better than it already is. What’s the next generation sled going to look like.
It’s awesome that these Motorsport companies are striving for improvement
i would argue the sleds have just been refinements since the 03 rev. alpha skid by cat has only been really out of boxing thinking since. some might say i'm wrong, but let me know what i'm missing.
Direct injection would be delicious
I almost snow checked the XCR but ended up going with the VR1 but either way absolutely love the sled and it's my first Polaris otherwise had been on Cats since the late 90's. Love all the reviews on every one of the manufacturers you guys do. Keep up the awesome work!
Thanks Mike!!
Awesome video explains the differences. I ended up going with XCR based on this video.
Great choice!!
Great review as always, killer looking sled
I will stay with the VR1. The days of full bore over the whoops has sadly come to an end. But i can still put junior in the rearview mirror! 28 years riding Luke? Your just getting started kid. 😊
It's amazing how Polaris puts all the other manufacturers to shame
Ever heard of brp?
@@DGfilms1996 yes I've been snowmobiling for 52 years they were junk then and they're junk now
@@DGfilms1996 Yeah for a ditch banger, lynx and xrs are better.
@@mv3380 nope been on all of them you're wrong
Great video I wanted to order a vr1 but had to go up to a switchback. Totally my fault for waiting so late pretty sure if I didn't wait I would have my machine
Way too many people are buying mountain sleds and trail riding them.
Agreed!!! Too many kids watching Burant on CZcams and buying Khaos and summits.. then sell them 2 seasons in when the track is Fu$%×d.
I have my XCR 850 getting setup up at my dealer now. My first new sled since my 1977 TNT Yeah I’m old at 61, but this is the sled that I felt was best for me. It’s too bad delivery wouldn’t have came sooner, but I took that chance when I snow checked
Great video like always I would love to try a new sled I'm still riding a 98 mzx 440
Thx for your advice Luke I've been thinking to get a Polaris Xcr 650 136 or Polaris indy xc 137 I'm getting already to be a aggressive rider for jumps and everything!
Plus I like the color it looks cool!
sweet, i qualify. overheated many brakes on trail sleds, even when new. brake is just as important as power if going fast!
Double limiter straps should be standard on every snowmobile ever made.
Polaris has nailed almost every aspect of the 2022 lineup. The only thing missing is a 4 stroke for the Titan and Voyager... Maybe 2023?
Fingers crossed!!
Looking to buy either assault or xcr 136. Had vr1 and liked what did you prefer when tested
I am just myself on a sled, not cooler, not better, enjoying the ride and terrian.
Good review. Like you, I’m an ex racer, over 40 & although I like to think I’m as fast as I used to be…a few broken bones & age have slowed me down. Unless it’s a high speed shot down a logging road or across a lake. I’ve never owned a Pol (owned everything else) but am interested in a XCR or VR1. My only gripe with Pol has been the application of a lot of plastic where maybe higher quality materials could substitute. Anyway, what is the difference in risers between the 2 models? XCR is a taller riser? And, seats. Same or different. A 136” x 1.6” Cobra sounds awesome. Thx.
Let's see the 4 sled manufacturers top sled side by side.... no excuses...
What is your average speed when going over those chatter bumps or medium sized bumps?
Where is a new 500 121” trail ripper. The long tracks a fine but lower speed fun of a 121 is hard to beat. A hot new 500 and lightweight 121 track would be a perfect trail sled for people who aren’t in the Covid warning weight class……
They won’t ever go back to a 121. Riders these days wouldn’t be able to ride them. They need a hero sleds.
A man has got to know his limitations.
Does anyone know if they are having the fuel pump issues they are having on the mountain sleds this season?
If you were ditch banging and trail riding in Minnasota, would you rather have a 136 xcr or an assault? I'm trying to decide my next sled.
You will have a winner on either model, I would base it off your budget.
@@bigguydiy2184 Agreed.
And now Polaris sends out notifications to not ride your new sled because of throttle issues than can result in a crash. All sleds should have to come with a tether
Eat Ur heart out xrs owners, always playin catch-up u doo girls!
Still waiting on this exact spec.
Me trail riding my 16' 163 summit laughing
Most of the XCR'S are coming with lower bar risers and 4 inch skags.
Shocks are shocks its just fluid going through a hole
16,500 plus tax
How does this compare with an XRS in terms of ride quality? I have a 2021 XRS Renegade which is stupidly compliant after adjusting the suspension. Rides smoother than my previous Axys. I would love a red/white/blue XCR or even a Lynx, but the suspensions make me nervous. I want to look cool without getting beaten to death on a long day of rough trails lol.
Those two sleds eat up rough trails for breakfast. Totally at home in those conditions.
That’s why I haven’t received mine yet. Everyone thinks they need an xcr and they don’t.
Nobody even needs a new sled they want a new sled
@@rmitchell1 the same can be said for just about everything you own
You probably don’t need one either lol so what’s your point.
@@Pfanny_John You cam in commenting, what’s your point?
The problem is everyone wants to think they’re cool with the XCR so there has been a record amount of pre orders. Meanwhile, people that actually ride them to their potential, still haven’t received them because Polaris can’t build them.
Honestly whatever.. I get it. I’m just pissed mines not here yet 🤣
Sorry you haven't got yours yet and not to rub it in but the sled is amazing. Got it out this past weekend and it rips. Handled everything I threw at it with no issues
and the left torsion spring is already bent..
Too bad the thing is priced out of reach for most of us.
Tomorrow I will be a 43 year old washed up rider lol. But with 39 years riding 😉
Yea he has been riding since he was 4 so
Sure have. Kitty Cat under the Christmas tree !!
Awesome! Happy Birthday!
Not one comment on how the rear suspension is like riding mashed potato’s out of the box? Even with the high and low speed clickers all the way in you can bottom the front arm shock super easy, and the rear torsions are too soft for an XCR type rider. I own a 22 XCR 650 128. And it’s a nice sled but I’m disappointed in the rear suspension for what all the hype is 🤷🏻♂️. Can be fixed with valving and springs.
People don’t like to hear the truth but you’re exactly right. The rear ended on the XCR is a joke. I’m 190 lbs and ride very aggressive and the stock set up bottoms on almost every medium to large sized bump no matter what I do with the torsion springs or compression.
Who should buy this? Someone who has the $$ for lots and lots of Uber expensive synthetic oil!! Lots!! 🤣😂🤣
I tried a VR1 850 last season , ride was awful and it blew up with 93 miles on it . I went to my local skidoo dealer he gave me a 850 XRS to ride , he never got it back .
cool story
Extreme Ridiculous Shape🤔🤷♂️🤕
No kidding a polaris product getting praised by Snowtrax, why bother watching these videos, we already know their answer
So you think the praise is unjustified then? Please tell us why the XCR isn't good because I'd love to hear your expert analysis.
If you haven't ridden a newer Polaris especially since they've come out with the axys chassis, you are missing out.
