This amusement park has been a lake george area institution since it opened in the 50's as storytown usa and still has many of it's fairy tale and ghost town elements. This video looks at the many rides and roller coasters that can be found at the theme park including: the comet, the new for 2021 adk outlaw, alpine bobsled, raging river, sasquatch, steamin demon, canyon blaster and more. This video also shows off the hurricane harbor water park with it's many water slides.

    Its a good little park, I just wish six flags would focus on it and add some more rides or a new roller coaster, it could really complete the place

    I have been here a few times over the years because I had lived in the area for awhile and always had a good time here, the comet is a great coaster it's fairly intense and pretty fast and really love the alpine bobsled and yeah it's down a lot. One time I spent about five dollars just blasting people with water when they went on the raging river.

    Yeah, I'm a local at this park and the Bobsled can be a tricky ride to get on. It's usually only open from early afternoon to early evening, and there has to be zero chance of rain. This line is always one of the longest waits because of how small the time window is for it, but still very fun, even with the jerks.

  • @jbw9999
    @jbw9999 Před 3 lety +2

    First time I went to GE, Alpine Bobsled was closed. When I stopped back by a couple years later, it was closed again, but luckily it was just because I was there at opening and the ride didn't open until sometime later that morning, which I believe they said is normal. Speaking of Opryland, their bobsled track layout was the exact same as GE's, but Opryland's Screamin' Delta Demon had in-line seating, and the only other one that did was SFMM's (now at SFOT). I remember waiting 2-3 hours to ride SDD when it opened.
    Canyon Blaster's layout was slightly modified from when it was the TImber Topper / Rock n' Roller Coaster at Opryland. And the helix final may seem corny now, but when we were kids, it was a pretty big deal and everyone loved it (at Opryland). :)
    Great Escape always seems like a nice park to me, and last time I was there I happened to speak to the park manager, who was really nice and helpful, but I don't think he's there now.

    Great Escape is a nice park. Comet is great coaster and if you sit in the right place, gives loads of airtime. It actually rides better when its cold. Also appreciate Steamin Demon. A classic arrow loop/screw that might not look great, but its fairly smooth as arrows go, and is lots of fun. Great for a family park. The other nice thing is Six Flags havent crapped it up with IPs and ads everywhere. Its the least six flags six flags Ive been to.

    Ayyy it's my old home park from exactly 4 years ago today. Also 3 years ago, I revsisted NY, and Comet was running the roughest I'd seen from it. It's in my top 10 because most of my experiences were amazing.

    25$? That must be pandemic pricing Because I’ve never seen those prices. It’s usually like $70. Don’t get me wrong I feel it’s worth every penny. Love this place.

    Not that it matters but the ADK is short for Adirondacks. Can't wait to try it out, when they are running the park has a pretty good flat ride collection, despite the coasters being weak.

    Update: there wasn’t any big rides like it was good family rides but other than that there’s not much of a selection so comparing to like going on the biggest coaster in the world and rides at six flags it wasn’t that good but if you come with a little kid its good

    This is another one of those parks where I have to ask this very common question; what else is there to do in the area? But I do have another question as well and that is how far is this from Six Flags Darien Lake? Is it possible to do both parks in one vacation?

    • @IntheLoopPodcast
      @IntheLoopPodcast  Před 3 lety +1

      There is actually quite a bit to do in the Lake George area. Should have a video of it up next week. Darien lake is over 4 hours away, La Ronde is about 2.5 so would be easier to pair with that once the borders open.

    Near my family who lives outside Saratoga, so I go every summer. Wish they would leave Six Flags and get much better rides and new coasters. That place needs to step up its game and add more variety. Maybe Six Flags should pay more attention to that park. Nice place to visit though.

    Is the Great Escape amusement park a Six Flags park ?

  • @splatterpunk4529
    @splatterpunk4529 Před 2 lety

    It may be because familiarity breed contempt, but... Six Flags has REALLY let the park decline from them buying it. It isn't terrible, but... Most of the additions tend to be "We bought something from a carnival and put it in as standard."
    If you aren't going to the water park? It's not great. But if you want a water park, go to Water Safari.
