    OBSERVATION: Key here is to make sure the kb is levelled with your knee cap as it goes through your legs. That's how you know you're not squatting too much without the foam tube.

    Is the Kettlebell Swing meant to work the entire back or primarily the traps and rhomboids?

    • @Sam-vk8xd
      @Sam-vk8xd Před 5 lety +1

      It’s works the posterior chain (hamstrings, Glutes, and lower back) and the core (abs and hips) there’s some back involvement due to the pull aspect on the downswing but it’s mostly a ballistic movement for the posterior chain. There’s very little trap and rhomboid involvement since on the upswing the shoulders are mostly guiding the weight. There’s no shrug or anything like that at the top.

    I will be a bit contoversial and I will say that by doing any type of swing you will carry to much momentum. By doing that you will simply just get tired with not so much affect. What I changed in it was to use more negative movement on it and to slow down when we have kettlebell in this same position with our ankles. From that position move back up. If anyone is willing to try this and compare with kettlebell normal swing. I'm open to hear your opinion on it ;)

    My back is giving up,as I'm not walking so much anymore... You'd think there are more free roads in countryside. But no, it's much easier to go for a walk in a town.
    I'm a kind of a nerd, but it gave me position to get stationary bike... So I cycled enough to lose 50kg in 6 months, and the seat almost dug into my hip... Its easy to cycle while listening to podcasts,or watching cartoons and tv.
    Now I've learned that it's not really the exercise that burns the fat, but the muscle that is trying to keep up with fresh and nutrient flow of blood. So fat is one of the sources of energy that those muscle tissues use as a fuel. I think the muscle tanks some of the fat around itself, but as a more liquid form. Well this isn't anything I believe to be true, but only my vision to the case of how fat burns.
    I got some dumbbells, but no kettlebell saddly.
    Still I think working out might give bigger kick than just fondling with keyboard. Also it's a shame these things take quite a lot space.

    • @davidk5585
      @davidk5585 Před 5 lety +3

      Think of your arms as rope holding the weight to your body - they do no work beyond that (except maybe slowing the weight at the top of the rep to prevent it from going more than horizontal). The work is done with your hamstrings and glutes, that is where you'll feel the burn.

      ideally, hamstrings and butt should be sore.. in addition, abs and lats/mid back can also be sore
      if your quads or low back or sore, you are probably squatting instead of hinging and letting the knees come forward.. check this vid for more details: czcams.com/video/VpHnnXvGv5c/video.html
