*Tip dont use ordinary screws for the weight rack. Use lag bolts they are much stronger.*

Nicely built. Anyone who does this I would recommend using Timberlok screws. They are heavy duty screw/bolts used for heavy duty loads such as structural and decking so I would use them if you are wanting to load a lot of weight onto your racks

This is great! One suggestion, maiybe put some angle brackets or nail plates to help rigidity of it, plus like nail plates are cheap (74p at wickes). Also suggest deck screws for the timber!
This is a great project and will defo build my own.

Solution for the barbell supports - add a full length 2x4 to the front side of the main support sides and cut it on an angle so you have a natural holder that is fully supported by the ground. I like the basic design just need some extra safety.

if youre only attaching those bar holder bits with only screws, it can fail you can get crushed by a 80kg barbell. that needs to be more robust or you can drill holes and insert some steel pipes through to act as bar holders.
