‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣ THIS EPISODE ‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣
In this episode, we continue our “weekender” adventure at Mount Blue State Park in the mountains of Maine! If you missed the first part of this trip, you can check it out here: • CLEANING UP AFTER A LO...
After an amazing night cooking over the fire and morning hanging out at the campground beach, we headed out to hike up to the top of Tumbledown Mountain. This specific hike was the goal of this camping trip as it was a hike that we did 6 years earlier right before we hit the road in 2017. And it was just as spectacular the second time around.
It brought back so many memories. Of the girls when they were little. Of the excitement we felt as we faced so many unknowns. Of the beauty of that night and knowing that there were so many more beautiful and adventurous nights to come.
So much has changed in our lives since hiking up that mountain in Maine with the stunning lake at the top. Our girls have grown into lovely and loving young women. Our marriage is stronger. Our lives are richer and more fulfilled. And our future, though never clear, is hopeful and exciting and will always be full of adventure.
What changes in your life would allow you to spend more time with your spouse? Your kids? What would make your life feel more complete or fulfilled? What is your SOMEDAY? It may not look anything like ours, but whatever it is, don’t wait to make it happen. Make that change now. You are the only one who can.
Now back to the video…we make it back to Jess’ parents house, Corey breaks the truck, we say bye to everyone in Maine, almost blow a tire and have to change it at 2am at a rest stop and finally make it to Elkhart, Indiana. What is it with our truck and rig getting to Indiana???
Stay tuned for next week as we gear up for Season 8 - 2.0 and finally head OUT WEST! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new videos!
Don’t wait to live your life, find your 🔆SOMEDAY🔆 now!
PS. Hope you enjoy the special little treat we added at the end! 😂

Underscores the importance of doing a quick walk-around at every stop! Glad you caught that tire before it became a roadside problem. Would love to see some of the "old" footage woven in or even an entire episode of nothing but unseen footage. Thanks guys 😁
Thanks for stopping to see us! We love you guys!
The best part of the video was Lily saying “SALTY” we all cracked up!
Sad we missed Stuart this round, but it was so good to see you guys and meet some of your family!
You're Gonna Wanna Watch Until the End! Do not be drinking anything when you watch it.
We would love to see your old photos and videos. They may trigger a conversation about your thought process to go full time, concerns, the excitement, where you thought you were going to go and where you ended up. We have made our decisions and are making it happen. We sold our home last November and I can tell you, it is a great feeling not to be "living" to work on the house/property. Kids in 3 states, can't wait until Dec 1st, for Traci to retire and our new adventure truly begins.
The walk around was a great find. The trip to Elkhart is truly cursed 😂
I have a travel trailer parked at a private campground. No towing issues or hitching and unhitching issues. Hooked up to electric, water and sewer. 1200 forested lots with 2 swimming pools, club houses, ballpark, archery range, hiking trails, activities in the weekends during the summer and holiday weekends.
Doing a 1800 elevation gain family hike is epic! You guys have done so much since the start of your full-time adventure. You've given your girls so many memories to cherish. Have been inspired by all your videos. Thanks for sharing your adventures...
Flashback footage is wonderful. We get to see how much you have grown and aged in a good way. The girls grew so fast. Good luck with the hose. Hope you were able to fix it.
We would LOVE to see the oldy but goodie footage!! Please do a retrospect!! Love you guys
Of course we would love to see old footage, it is part of the history of your journey! Just put it on for a bit longer duration, you flash that stuff so fast that my mind can't process that quickly. Lol. Thank you as always, for your wonder videos! Oh, the tire damage sure looks like impact damage, like hitting a deep pot hole. When the impact has enough force it laterally pinches the tire between the impact object and the rim, usually braking the radial belt of the tire. Consider switching to a quality LT tire instead of trailer tires, just make sure the tire weight rating is the same or more. OMG! The ending was hilarious!!! Priceless!
YES!!!! SHOW US THE OLD FOOTAGE PLEASE. I love seeing how the girls grow. I have two girls also, ages 13 and 9. One is named Lily. We love to RV when we can. Also, your photography is beautiful. Would you consider doing a video on shutter speeds, ect. I have a Canon EOS Rebel T6. Love watching your videos.
Two hours is our limit as weekend warriors. Downside of weekend warriors is the packing and unpacking the camper. Yes we keep basics, yes we keep the fridge plugged in but we don't run the air conditioner when not using it so all the chocolate cookies, breads, produce etc . Comes out. Along with the laundry. Then if parking for a couple of weeks I'll be moving my clean clothes out to wear.
Why isn't this family/Chanell over 100k yet, such great content, please share and like!
Had my turbo boot blow off my 2015 lml as well. Granted this was after the engine was rebuilt two times for bad head gaskets. Going from Frisco, co down i70 to silver Thorne pulling our TT, exhaust break on, then transition from exhaust brake slowing us doesn’t o accelerating up to the tunnel a giant bang. Parked on the side of i70 heading up to the tunnel with the family for hours trying to figure out how to attach it again. Luckily dealer down the street sent a guy out and he made a few trips to get it attached. State patrol told me to duck tape it lol.
Our spare ballooned on us and took out our water lines through our floor. 😮 thank heavens for smart relatives on fixing all of the damage!
We have a seasonal site about an hour away that is closer to family so our fifth wheel almost acts as a summer home at times. We also travel about 3-5 trips a year. Mostly within a few hours but at least one big trip every year. Our goal is to show our boys all 50 states before they graduate!
Your truck and trailer are shining like new money.
We would definitely like to see your old footage. We enjoy your family so much and look forward to seeing your videos each week. We love seeing the footage you get of God's beautiful creation and I'm always having to stop the video to make notes on my list of places to go. We also love the West and are getting ready to head that way! Thank you for sharing your adventures!
We like to hike but it's a hard no for THAT uphill battle LOL!! I'm glad we started our fulltime life when we did and have done what we have done because I think those hikes are behind us now. We have been on the road fulltime 10.5 years so the "See ya later's" have been countless.
We are full-timers, and originally from the east coast. We only go back east to visit family. The adventure begins again when we head west!
I had the same thing on my truck. The high side boot came loose and they believe that’s what caused the particulate filter to plug. At least that’s what they’re telling me and you know what I did after that.
Even though I am 60 something. You two would be the greatest mom and dad ever. Your kids are very lucky. Too be able to see this great country that we live in. Thanks 👍 for sharing this with us 😊 every weekend.
I agree I'm 57 if you are looking to adopt lol
Have fun and enjoy
@@tinacathey8241 you never know.
For 2 nights, we have gone as far as 250 miles way. For 3 nights, we have done a 475 mile trip once but usually only up to 350 miles, and for 4 nights we have pushed to 400 miles. Our longest single drive day was a 688 mile trip coming back from a week in Florida (we don't recommend that long ever in a single drive, but wanted to push it to see what we could handle once). And we stay at tons of different campgrounds, but have a few local state part staples we love. We average 70 different camping stays since 2020.
I live in KY and love heading out west. I enjoy the openness, mountains, and cooler less humid air.
Yes. We want a peek of old times. Agreed; Goodbyes are always tough.
Omg that pop! We thought the whole damn frame came out from under us by the noise but the black smoke at 25# of boost going uphill was horrific, we thought we launched the motor too.Sinister Diesel bulletproofed 2005 F350 turbo and it happened twice to us, we had to change the boot & new clamps. It happens, decay from heat & oil and they weaken. We carry a spare now with extra clamps.
Received the GREAT news today that we will get to spend next year, May through October at the Pumpkin Patch RV Resort as work campers in Hermon Maine. Lobstah here I come!
We stay 2-2.5 hours from home on weekends. We'll go up to 4.5 hours on a 3-4 day weekend trip. Love the throwback footage. Safe travels.
Turbo inlet tube... Before you opened the hood, I knew. Spray the metal with hairspray, loosen the hose clamp and slip the hose back on and tighten it down.
I would not call us weekenders as we have never gone anywhere for just a weekend. We are what I refer to as part of the “Dunworkin” family as we no longer work. We just play. Based in southeastern Pennsylvania we’ve done the following so far this year: Ouray, CO, Moab, UT, Lyons, CO (all on the same 30 day trip) a lot of one nighters to get there. Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore in Michigan for a week and one more planned trip to the Finger Lakes Region in NY for a week. We travel in a 27’ Airstream, TV is a Ford F250 gasser. We have to thank you for sharing all of your adventures up the coast in Maine as we might do that trip next year. I’ve been to the Maine Media Workshops in Rockport three times. We traveled to Acadia once together. We’ve followed your adventures for a few years now and would love to see the early footage.
I subscribe to several youtube channels, many RV related. All of them do some drone video, but I have to say the drone footage on this channel is the best.
My wife and I were watching the latest video and when Layla dry heaved after eating anchovies, my dear wife threw up in our waste basket. We laughed and laughed!! 😂😂😂😂😂
I blew two fairly brand new 10 ply radial tires in the same long trip to the keys with my boat trailer. Happened to me in the summer time on a really hot day in FL. I’m thinking due to the extreme heat of the asphalt. I caught the second one before it blew and it was rounded up on top as well. Since that experience I back off 8 pounds in the summer and never had that issue again. I didn’t have a TPMS back then but I do now. I tow my boat and RV ALOT. Still amazes me how much I see the tire pressure increase on my TPMS in the summer as the tire temp increases.
Sooooooo......it's official. Layla and I don't care much for anchovies. But, we are troopers and we did it. We don't have to do that anymore. Bravo Zulu, Layla!
We are weekenders, just got back from 2 hour trip. I always love to go and always love to get home, no matter how far we go.
Love your footage
Great to see you all back on the road...and good catch on the tire. Best part of the video was Layla's anchovy experience! 🙂
As weekenders, we go different places all the time. We try to stay within 4 hours of home and 3 night stays minimum. 2 hours away is a really good distance.
Oh my, poor Leyla andnthst anchovies challenge. I almost spit out my coffee. So funny, thx for sharing this personal moment
Another great video of a place we will never see! Thanks for sharing!
I can understand Corey's excitement about the prospect of heading West again. Though we live "Where The West Begins" west of Fort Worth, the prospect of heading to the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Northern New Mexico makes us excited! We met there 45 years ago, got married and it is a very special place. If we don't go there, it's Ruidoso NM near Sierra Blanca. Both places are a 10 to 11 hour drive from home. Money permitting, we stay somewhere after 6 hours. Otherwise, we leave really early and get there in the late afternoon or early evening. For us, the journey is as special as the destination. We stay in the same RV Parks. They know us and are expecting our arrival, so that makes getting there much nicer (we get to see old friends). For day trips, it's usually a couple of hours away from where we are camping at most. Mostly, we just chill, enjoy the peace and quiet and get much-needed rest (I'm almost 70 but still work full time.)
Safe travels, y'all. Hope to cross paths one day.
We have been camping for 25+ years. We usually try 1 new place a year about 4-6 hours away and the rest of the trips are within 2 hours of our home.
YES PLEASE!! would LOVE to see those videos. You're such great people why would we not.
That would be a great 100,000.00 subscriber's celebration !! Do a time line from the beginning ❤
Thanks for including us in your adventures! I especially enjoyed the clips of your h younger girls - like the anchovies! 😅
My weekend trip is usually to the Lakes Region in NH. That is about 2.5 hours from home. I have been going there since I was 7. My parents started that tradition as a 2 week family vacation. I now get there when I can for either a day trip or a weekend.
A big yes to the early adventures of the Nickersons, please! I was hopeful that the aftermarket kit was going to work out, but they often do. I'm sure you have warranty on those Goodyear tires, but still that's frightening. Glad you caught it. Will be walking around more at rest stops from now on!
Our 2 year old Grand Design has officially spent a year in service with unresolved issues.
We traded in our 2020 Denali Dmax on a 2024 and the past Dmax issues are resolved and tons more power.
We rarely go just for a weekend, but when we do, we keep it no more than three hours away. We travel now from two weeks to a month.
Loved the flashback at the end! Nothing funnier than kids and strange foods.
Looks like a belt Brock in the tire but didn't cause it to blow out. Glad you caught it before it damaged your rv
Fulltiming is so much easier then packing and unpacking, but if you can't full time still get out there it's all worth it. Thousand trails the only way to go for us. Love your videos and how much fun you have. Love the great service projects you do.
We camp only 3,4,5 days at a time. As much as I always want to go back to the same campground, we always try something different. Different areas, full hook ups, just electric, etc. We will be ‘mooch docking’ at Drummond Island, Michigan this weekend. (Labor Day). Michigan has a plethora of campgrounds.
used to camp with my folks. & we usually went west to Jasper & Banff national parks. or to what is called the Alberta coal branch (especially when it's berry picking time). Jasper is about 3 1/2 miles west of where i live & Banff is about 4 hours south west of where i am. the coal branch is between my place & Jasper.
For a 2 or 3 day weekend we like to stay within 250 miles of home. Most campgrounds have a late morning check in, so we time the drive to get there as close to check in as possible. For a one night trip we keep it to less than 75 miles.
As a weekender right now, we usually do about a 2-3 hour drive in four day weekend trip. In October doing a week and a half trip down to Texas.
good catch on the tire. another reason to always do a walk-around every time you stop. I have never been a big fan of Goodyear tires. Look at the Sailun brand. We have been running those for 2 years. Stay safe.
We are "weekenders" and when we switched grom a pop up to a travel trailer got a Thousand Trails zone pass free for a year. We have continued with it and so mostly go to 3 parks in PA that are less than 2 hours away. When we have a longer amount of time ee go to one of three in VA & 1 in NJ that are 3-4 hours away. Have also been to the one in Wells, ME. Once we retire we will ho further away. We will also start going to different places then because we want to travel out west.
For us, we generally travel around 150 mile radius. But we live in Western Colorado, so we can go to the desert, or the alpine mountains of Ouray and everything inbetween.
I can't believe you hiked down that mountain in the dark. The tire minder didn't pick up that tire failure because it was still full pressure. I had the tread come completely off once and it didn't alert me.
You did the right thing air to air coupler I have blown many of them on tractor trailers.
Going down that big mountain looked a lot more difficult than going up. Wow, overturned ankle in a heartbeat. But, you guys did it! The flashbacks of the early days and the kids are great. What a fun ending. I so enjoy going on adventure with you guys.
I’ve lost boost pressure on my turbo engines only to find out it’s the hose.
Easy fix.
My new trucks, Ram, so far no issues.
Usually lost in boost it simple a leak.
Glad you fixed it.
We go to a few of our favorite campgrounds, living in West Virginia we have many great state parks and private campgrounds that we love.
When we weekend we try to stay within 3 hours of our home. We can get into Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, down to the Outer Banks area, or up the Eastern Shore within that time frame so that’s easy. Hardest part is finding a campground.
Since I still have a job that I need to be at, we weekend and weeklong several times a year. There are a few places we enjoy and go back to regularly with longer and unique trips mixed in. We plan by the distance from home vs the time we have. We've done thousand mile trips over a week and this past weekend we did a 500 mile round trip to WV to an airshow. Being based in eastern PA it is difficult to get to the west. Longer trips west are on our agenda and planning is in the works.
YES! Yes! We want to see the unseen! 🥰
We’re native New Englanders, photographers and raised our family on a small lake. Now that the kids have moved out, we sold the lake house, moved to Florida and bought an Airstream. We’re not weekenders, but we’re not full timing either. I call it long timing, most of our trips are several months at a time. Yes, every time we head out, it’s exciting.
Since we moved to Wyoming a few years back still exploring but we do have our favorites! We are driving 3 hrs for Labor Day weekend. But it’s a 3 nighter instead of two 😊. So many places closer to Cheyenne .
Has happened three time to me on 3 different Duramax pickups. Sounds like a cannon when it pops off at full boost. I'm going to carry one of those hoses with me.
Yes, I'd love to see early filming!!!
Tires, wow I was not expecting when we hit the road, how much time we would spend in tire shops! As a former auto mechanic, I’m particularly about stuff and man ST tires regardless of brand and not made like they should be.
Yes I would be interested in the beginning…. How you guys started it all…
We are weekenders…we try to stay around the 4 hour mark and that’s pushing it. Grand haven is 4 hours from us and when we do that we actually do schedule an extra day. We will leave Friday morning and come back Sunday night. Jeremy brother lives 3.5 hours north of us and that’s basically the longest we will go on a Friday to Sunday. They live 45 minutes from Mackinac Island or petosky but most of the time we kayak the stergeon river that goes into Burt lake when we visit.
So breathtaking, Beautiful!! Love you all And thanks For taking me along.❤
What luck to find that tire. Have fun out west. We are just completing our MC trip to Ouray and Moab. It’s hot in the desert. We didn’t take the Rv this time because we went with 6 other couples for an epic dirt bike trip for the guys. Enjoy your journey. And we will be watching. ❤
We just got back on two months trip, ND, SD, Minnesota, Wisconsin St Louis, Cluster SD
Thanks for the Duramax Turbo tip! I have the Silverado equivalent truck and may have to do the same someday.
In answer to your question as much as I love the west and live here, but it is fun to see totally different country and culture of the east. After your series in Maine I am looking forward to seeing in person some day. Remember even though you have good friends up here at Glacier, would love to meet up and say hi.
We weekend in our '88 Airstream. We go to water, Lakes or Ocean. Here in Georgia we have a few large lakes around the northern portion. We go about an hour south of us to West Point and then about 3 hrs farther south to Eufaula Al. Both these lakes are on the Chattahoochee river. Also Destin(Camp Gulf), PCB(St. Andrews) and our fav Bryn Mawr in St. Augustine. We are going to Anastasia at the end of Sept for the first time. We want to hit Vilano Beach where you guys were earlier this year. The panhandle of Florida is a 5.5 to 6 hr drive towing. St. Augustine is a little longer at right at 7 hrs.
I usually go 1-3 hrs away. I do go different 00aces but it all depends on what I have planned (paddleboarding, biking, Disney). My favorite is always Anastasia SP and I will go there if I can get in.
We live in Miami so our weekend trips are usually within a 300 mile trip (north) I am an admin in the school system so our longer trips are spring break and summer. I actually had the same thing happen to my Goodyear. I caught it because the psi was about 5psi higher than the others while traveling.
Wow good catch on the Tire. Looked like defect inside. I would get the Axle Alignment checked too. Had to do this once. Kept eating certain tires. Was off a tad from curb catch. Towed harder. Ate tires.
Love seeing your mom on the video. Miss her and you guys. Have fun and be safe. Love seeing the video of the kids when little. I remember that kitchen.
Yes, yes & yes! It's all a part of your journey 😊
Live in CT. 3 hours max for a weekend. Over 3 is a holiday weekend. 5+is multi day...
Looking at your past can be good remembering the good times n not repeat your mistakes but looking ahead to the future could be scary 😅
We are weekenders, we normally go to one or two "local" 1-2 hours away, we started going out 2-4 hours this year (Michigan, Illinois, Ohio), but next year we are going out further approximately 6-8 hours to Missouri, Arkansas areas. We have been doing more Illinois while Mom is still able to get around at 84 we try to see her and grand kids all in Illinois. 2023 we have went on 10 trips and still have 4 more planned our busiest camping season so far since we started camping together in 1997 great information sharing. I have a Chavy but basically the same truck as yours. Excellent catch on the trailer tire I started doing the every stop walk around since watching your channel! Thank you!
So good to see the early days.
I really enjoyed seeing your early days videos, your beautiful girls looks so young. Wow that was a good catch on that tire, it was going to make a mess if you'd gone much further. As weekenders in Ontario, Canada who enjoy provincial parks we often have a 3 hr travel day. In September were heading north anticipating 5 hrs but we're taking an extra long weekend to that.
Hey family I have a few answers for you, first, round is a shape Cory, second living in Florida we have a few campgrounds that we spend at least 5 - 7 days per trip, third when we head west it is usually two weeks to a month because its so much fun to visit new places and we have a few go too's. Great video blessings from Florida, Jim
I’d love to see how it all began. The house sale, the girls and do on.
Another great video!
We are weekenders for now, we have a little over an hour drive to get to our seasonal spot in Minnesota.
Although we have taken 1 trip to Florida last year in the beginning of November. Where we actually got a chance to meet you guys & several other awesome people that traveled there for the LJMJ huddle.
Someday, we hope to become full-time rvers...🤞
As far as heading east or west....when you're from MN like we are...any direction is an adventure! 😎
Love seeing the little girls. We had a pop up and took our two little boys all over maine hiking and biking. Other states too ! Bittersweet to look back. The “boys” are 33 and 30 now. One a firefighter and the other a doctor in the Navy. I miss them but have amazing often funny memories. Hang on to these last years with your beautiful daughters.
Corey, longtime Duramax owner here and currently pull with a 2016 LML Duramax. I'm a lifelong mechanic that retired March 1, 2022, and have many years of dealership and independent shop experience. For the low cost of the hot side turbo boost hose, I'd suggest carrying a spare boot as well because they sometimes damage beyond use. Three years ago while pulling our living quarters horse trailer up the rim out of Payson Arizona, the same failure happened to us. We were running very heavy as we hit the scales at 26,009 CGVW earlier in the trip, but that wasn't overloaded for our K3500 dually GMC. So I know the truck was pulling a lot and probably it the boost significantly prior to failure! We were able to temporarily McGyver a fix and limped in to Camp Verde where we bought the same boot repair kit you did. That boot lasted until the next summer when we were headed west out of Denver when the boot burst. I'd not previously monitored my turbo vane position A, which is the actual position of the variable geometry turbo vanes, compared to the turbo vane position D, which is demand from the ECU. What I quickly determined upon hitting the road again was the turbo VGT was sticking and causing an over boost condition, thus blowing off the hot side charge hose. The boost pressures would easily hit 37-40 psi which is exceedingly high. Looking back I had noticed the engine temperature rising more than normal just before the hose failures which is another indicator of over boost. If you have the instrumentation, I'd suggest start monitoring your turbo vane position A and D and see if they ever vary by more than 15, which should at some point turn on the check engine light with a P003A code and possibly a P2598. If you don't have the instrumentation start watching for abnormal higher engine temps when climbing steep grades. You may also find less effective exhaust braking as well. I enjoy the quality of you video's and just wanted to pass on our experiences with blown hot side hoses on the turbocharger. Unfortunately for us the fix was turbocharger replacement.
Great video! We go out at least once a month for 10 days. We are very fortuate to have the best camping State Park in IL just 30 min from our house. Rockcut State Park in Machesney IL. We are some what limited because we help to take care of my wife's mom. We did however, head up to Door County Wi this summer for a great 8 day trip. Love your channel! Some day we will head West!!!
Your photography is absolutely unbelievably beautiful time and time again. Your girls are terrific and glad you have taken the time with them.
Had the exact same thing happen to one of our Goodyear endurance tires. Less than 3 years old and I just happened to notice the bulge while I was doing my pre check. Good year warranties the tire. But still a inconvenience.
I would love to see the never-before-seen footage from the beginning!!
The whole tire is misshapen. In the daylight part of the video, you can see even the sidewalls were bulging.
Yes show everything, that’s so cool..
That’s from the donuts at sunrise Korey. They seemed to stick around the belly area.
Some of the best cinematography on CZcams! Really glad you caught that tire on a walk around. Safe travels!
From the west here, born and raised in California. I do get excited when we are going east. I know there's new stuff I'll get to see and new adventures to go on. But, after being in the east for a while, I really start to miss the wide open space of the west. We are just about to start our trip back and I'm excited for that as well. I was telling Toni that once were back west we are spending a week boodocking in the desert!!! Safe travels!
that was a hard 5 miles all the bouldering is allot more strenuous than a flat trail. I go local and same campground on weekend trips a hour or two, weekends go by so quick don't want to spend too much time driving. I'm in the mid Atlantic and campsites at the last minute are hard to find anymore.
