How Radu Albot kept his cool during the arguments is really mind blowing. He even got a code violation after that quite ridiculous mistake by umpire and linesman when the ball was clearly OUT! He's really one of the nicest person on tour and he just became my new favorite player. Really glad he won that match eventually.

true but you got to serve regardless of the wind. She can take a damn age to serve sometimes and redoes the serve 2-3- even 4 times sometimes. She needs to be called on it more often

That Putintseva shoelace nonsense really pissed me off the most because it's such clear gamesmanship. I guess it's just a coincidence that her laces only break when she's losing. If she knows she has these types of issues with shoelaces then you would think that she would bring an extra pair of sneakers that are already laced.

I understand Albot kept arguing. A ball so far out being called in goes hits all the nerves of fairness. If it was a closer call, he probably wouldn't have argued so much. But a ball like that? You just can't let it go so quick. Especially not when the umpire is being so bad in her role.

The call was obviously wrong, but Albot just had to drag it out even though it was clear that nothing would change. He was worse than Kyrgios. It's childish behaviour, any professional player should know when to focus on playing again. The umpire didn't handle this situation well at all, but at the end I was hoping for Albot to lose the match or to get defaulted while "protesting" on the bench.

She can demand a player to continue play, and penalise and ultimately call for the supervisor to default them if they refuse and continue to argue. Unfortunately she didn't handle that situation well and allowed it to escalate before eventually issuing a code violation. But umpires at lower levels tend to be less experienced than those working the tours, and sometimes this is the result.
@@pirateall1063 Would be nice, to inform yourself before commentaiting. Thats a not a question of rule, thats a question of fact. Supervisor cant change the call, its a "in the moment" situation. Asking for the supervisor is just unnessesary.

The ball was very close to the line. I don't expect the umpire who is sitting on the opposite side of the court to overrule the lines judge in these cases
@@patrikiosvatemanopoulos totally agree, I think what the umpire didn’t clarify was she didn’t have line of sight on the ball, so she has to go with the line judge’s call which was in. When she said, “it was my mistake”, I think she is empathizing with Albot as in, “sorry, I wasn’t able to see it so therefore it’s in”. I thought she was extremely fair in the way she handled it. Like you can’t argue a point for 10min and think it’s ok to ask for a supervisor for any situation, it’s unfair to your opponent, so I think the delay of game violation was justified. Sorry if I’m rambling but it was one of the more interesting drama clips I’ve seen in a while.

Its games like the Albot match where I dont see why they dont use Instant Replay like baseball, basketball, football, etc. Look at the video and they would see he was right all along, that ball was so far out. He was cheated. Good thing he ended up winning.

Imagine standing there listening to that whole ordeal knowing well and true that it should be Albot's point. Very poor sportsmanship.
