The Wall is RatRace’s epic 70 mile ultramarathon along Hadrians Wall from Carlisle to Newcastle. This year 1,500 people were allowed to enter and with a cutoff of 26 hours, it was a great ultra for many first time ultra distance runners.
After running in 2018 and 2022, this year I took on The Wall for a third time, to see if I can finish faster than I have before.
In this video, I also try to share more information about the race for anyone thinking of having a go next year (distances and conversions are estimates and there’s bound to be a few errors, but you get the idea!).

Well done Mike and a sub 15 to boot! I ran with you briefly between Walltown and The Sill, I pop up a couple of times on the video. I managed to get over the line in 13:14:47! Again, well done!

Great video Mike, and thanks for putting it together. Your NDW videos a couple of years ago were a huge help and this is one after seeing this I might have a go off. It doesn't like a particularly technical race, which is not my strong point. I like gates as they are easier than climbing over stiles. :-) The quality of the video is excellent.

Great run! Currently only done half marathons. Aiming for a spring marathon in 2025 how the hell do people even make the step up to these kind of ultra runs?
Cheers Ben 🙌 good luck with your marathon goals. I do ultras mostly for the food and the walking 😂 half marathons are a very different challenge because you have to keep running the whole time! All the best
