I think people are sick of the theatrics of it all. That kid was suuuper edgy and it was cringey hearing him try so hard to be so edgy, but I think what people are so sick of is her reaction, the way she reacted on stream, the PSA style post about it, as if it was some world ending event that she is just SO traumatized about, rather than just an annoying thing she had to deal with in a video game.

I have been in lobbies where the edgelord teenager/gamer girl interactions occur, and when I actively say "okay so we can all just mute this kid and move on" it's completely ignored, and the girl just fuels the interaction until it's forced to come to an end by the game coming to an end, so I dunno I'm sick of the whole ass thing in a lot of ways, if you have to the tools to cut this shit off at the pass and you don't utilize them, then I feel like you bare SOME responsibility. I wouldn't drive down the highway without a seatbelt and then bitch at the car manufacturer when I'm maimed in a crash.

@Fxrrxt2x unsure of how I feel about it, on one level, it's like I said above, the tools exist to avoid these interactions, but on another level, I do believe that game devs have the right to take actions against people like that because it creates a deterence, although I think that perma bans may be a bit much for a single offense. I sorta like the idea of shadow banning these kinds of kids to their own special ques together, as well as things like auto mutes for people reported enough for being shitlords although both of these things can be abused when they are driven by player reports so I dunno what the right answer is, but I'd do believe in reprecussions on a level, because again, it creates deterence.

It's not because guys don't want to be restricted of what they can say. It is more of people coming into their playground and demanding change. Heres a story. I used to play street ball with a group of guys. One day, 10 or so, new people show up to play. Alright, cool, more the merrier. But once it was time to pick teams, oh, they didn't like that and said that they were already stacked. Well, you walked into our house, and you need to respect our rules, pretty simple. And there were other rules like we played no blood no foul, they didn't like that and everyone gets game time, and hey, when it is the 12 yr olds who has the ball and you are like 3 times his size, there is no need to be super aggressive. Needless to say, we smoked them. The point is, no one should go into someone's elses house and demand change. At my work, one of the first piece of advice I was given was that if they are not making jokes to you or calling you names, there is something wrong, and you are not well liked. Now, my rule is to take away their power. This is tame, but if someone says go f yourself, just reply with something like I do that every day that ends in Y. But no, it isn't because people do not want to be restricted. It is because people do not respect the rules of their house. As my pop used to say, "If you are going to play with the big dawgs don't cry when you get hurt because you will."

I’m not the best player but once I get on a roll, men hate and call me hella names but they don’t know I’m a woman so I just let them talk and then jump into a different lobby when the game is over. I’m just playing in quick matches. I like to hear the lobby talk but I don’t like to talk. So I let them have at it and just play my game and then when the match is over, I leave the lobby and hop into another one. I like playing with the different ppl every match

Alt+F4 hasn't actually been a hard-cut to applications for a long while, and there's plenty of programs that interrupt it.
The proper way to rage-quit is to install SuperF4 and hit Ctrl+Alt+F4. That shit isn't a nice question to the application to quit; That's a neckshot.

The main problem with multiplayer game is that its based on win-rate, not takedown-rate. If you won 4 matches playing support, your team will be filled with utter newbs because that's how the game does match making.

It is the way it is, and it really can't be helped at a population level. The Japanese even have a word for this : Shouganai.
Banning does nothing, as there is nearly an unlimited supply of these shit-talkers on online game lobbies; you'll essentially never change that, and you'll never ban them all. So what gaming companies have done, is the next best thing: the mute & report feature. No one lets you be subject to abuse; this is important.
In an IDEAL world, none of us would "want" to play with him; in reality, we're well aware that there are literally millions of "him", so we focus on what we CAN do instead, which is NOT listen to his BS by using the tools the dev has given us for exactly this purpose ie the mute button.
