Thank you for this encouraging message. Sometimes I feel useless to God as I get older and poorer and need a reminder that my salvation is wrapped up in His promises not my abilities.

Timely word for me. Because I have been sealed by the Holy Spirit at the time of my salvation, hence I do not want to grieve Him by my incorrect actions and talk.

I think I need to just be quiet many times. Hold my tongue. What a task! Lord, thank you for your Holy Spirit who will enable me to perfect this precept upon precept
So wonderful to hear what I also believe to be the grieving of the Holy Spirit. By not walking, acting and being uplifting like Christ this is what it means. So tired of all the tongue talkers that say we are grieving the Holy Spirit by not believing in tongues. At best you can say I'm limiting the Holy Spirit by believing cessation. The Holy Spirit is guiding my walk, making the bible very understandable, helping my prayer life and many other things. IF He wants me to speak in tongues I will. I couldn't stop it any more than I could have stopped my regeneration. What grieves me is all the phoney things being perversely done in the name of God. More people today claim God spoke to them than at any other time in history. Yet you sure wouldn't know it by the way we're acting. So I'll reserve my right to be extremely discerning in these matters. You'd think Halloween is right around the corner with all the wolves in sheep's clothing.

That's one of the bests if not the BEST teaching I heard from you Ptr. Begg !!! I thank God for your life and know am always praying for you...I keep on listening over and over.... you're such a spiritual blessing to many souls! So PROFOUND and so very true!!! I shared it to two members in my German church (they speak English and I hope the Holy Spirit will help them undertand)! Otherwise will try to transcript in German with a little (prayerfully proficient) help from online translator.
