What's Inside A Venus Flytrap?

  • Venus flytraps rarely catch flies, despite their name - instead, spiders and ants make up most of their diet. When a victim walk by and brushes against a trigger hair on the inside of the trap’s modified leaves, it sets off an electrical signal. If the bug doesn’t escape within 20 to 30 seconds, the trap slams shut faster than you can blink!

In ancient Egypt, you were considered blessed and/or favored by multiple gods and goddesses if you had lizards in your house. They ate all the mosquitos carrying diseases and virii, keeping the food and residents healthy and water supplies free of egg clutches.
If you have lizards, you're a third of the way there. Flytrap flora help a lot. As well as non-venomous carnivorous spiders that nest in webs in corners of ceilings. Live in harmony with these things and you'll be happy.

@@hlwatts9979 These all depend on random chance created by their genetic diversity, higher diverse you are more chance you can get in evolution. In sort, it is all bc of coincidence.
It is not how the plants want to develop, it is because there were high biodiversity and intense competition during ancient time. Plants as well as animals, try their best to survive, due to mutation and selection, some mechanisms/characteristics were kept till now but the other just die out.
Ex. A group of plants lived in the place at 3:27 , they might all develop their own features(we don't know bc they all die out now). One day one of them can absorb nutrient from leaves! Then this new specie grew stronger, its population colonized rapidly, no one can compete with it. Then the place were covered with this plant...until one day, one of them can catch insect with leaves! Then not only the new plant can absorb nutrition randomly from its leaves also can catch its own prey, the higher efficiency of getting nutrition makes it become new conqueror of these area.......ect. Similar procedure carry on for a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time till today the flytrap we see. This is all bc of coincidence of mutation, selection.
Otherwise, there might had be more strange weird plants or creatures than flytrap if they had not be replaced by other species(the ancestry of flytrap).
