Hard to believe the suns had a 2-0 lead in the finals a few years ago. They completely destroyed that team.
Luka mortally wounded the Suns in that game 7--it has just taken them two years to finally die.
Book the only one left that plays from that entire squad. It's a different team. Ish does not play now even though he on the roster. Suns sold their entire future blew everything up for Beal and KD, and put themselves in a hole.

Now you can only add minimums, any coach is set up to fail, and trading KD is your only way to have significant change
This is an unmitigated disaster. They not only squandered this season but the roster construction has hampered their ability going forward for the next 3-4 seasons at a minimum. What is Flex talking about with "a path to fix things?"
He knows Suns will either Trade KD this year for picks back plus better roster construction (Suns won’t let him walk for free). Or, that Suns will cut their losses and bring back anything to relieve themselves of Beal contract. A desperate contender 1 piece away (where adding Beal actually makes sense) will ask about Beal to put them over the top.

1.) Vogel is a defensive coach, yet the roster doesn’t have the personnel to execute that
2.) Beal has a no trade clause and no team would eat that deal for the assets you have.
3.) thinking that no point guard would work made zero sense
4.) relying on a big 3 who all have injury history and couldn’t stay on the floor was a poor idea
5.) you have a team 75% of minimum guys with most of them unproven as positive players
6.) the only path to improve is to trade KD, but the risk in that is Booker possibly asking out
Regarding 3) Most teams don't have a non-star point guard who just sets up their stars. Those that do, their fanbases will often complain that defenses don't respect the player. The issue the Suns have isn't the PG position, it's that Book and KD don't create advantages by driving or having gravity from 3. You can't have that from your two biggest stars.

I don’t see a team taking on Beal. They don’t have the picks to pull that off. TBH the worst case scenario is KD asks out then Booker ask out as well. Either way they’re eating Beal’s no trade clause contract. If the trio stay then they really have no way to significantly improve this team for next season. I feel bad for the fans because the team they had prior to the KD trade had flexibility and would be in a better position to compete. You weren't going to get good wings for CP3 and Shamet.
Everyone knew Suns would struggle in the regular season and absolutely flame out in the postseason.
On the offense they are solely wing scoring oriented with no ball distribution or off-ball movement leading them to run basic af plays. There is no real catch and shoot guy to stretch the defense or even athleticism to rebound the ball.
On the defense there's no rim protection and rebounding, there's no real perimeter defenders and there is a clear lack of athleticism and size to really challenge anyone. Shit they don't even try hard in rotation defense either.
Listening to espo and flex downplay the draft and saying the suns future is bright? Come on, you keep drinking this cool aid and living in delusion. We are old as shit and our players are physically broken and soft as tissue paper. If you still think this team is in a good position to win anything, your better off joining james jones and vogel on their way out. Quit lying to the fans, we know better. All the warning signs were their when the season started. The bigger, younger and more athletic teams have been kicking our ass for a reason. We are undersized, we have no defense, no toughness , no desire to grind out tough wins. All of our guys are finesse guys. The fans deserve better than to see and hear all the mocking and bullshit that will go on till next season. Also, keep in mind thst we could of drafted a backup pointguard the last three seasons but james jones doesn't believe in youth and talent through the draft. Jared butler, ayo dosunmo, miles mcbride, collin sexton and tyrese haliburton. But yeah, we don't need a pointguard or the draft . The draft has no talent and is a crap shoot and their are no difference makers in the second round. Jeff hornacek, deAndre jordan,giannis antetekoumpo, nikola jokic, cam whitmore. The point being that it's possible for a team to get too old trying to add veteran experience. I think our front office is lazy when it comes to drafting and player development. Thats a big reason why we are watching younger, bigger and more physical and athletic teams beat us easily . Minnisota and okc are examples. You have to have a good balance of both vets and young talent to kerp the window open for chasing a title.
The draft is the very reason why this team has no depth. Imagine if we got one guy who was a playoff rotation-caliber player instead of Dragan Bender, Josh Jackson, or Jalen Smith. I think what Espo was saying is that its kind of a crap shoot, having picks or not. Certainly its great if you can get a guy but there's no guarantees the guy is even gonna last his rookie contract while usually guys you trade picks for are going to decent. Definitely important with the new CBA though to get some cost controlled talent.
True but given our circumstances for adding depth and talent still cheaper than free agency. We don't have to do a rebuild and that wouldn't make sense anyway, but we could use some youthful energy off the bench. Pretty much all the other team's winning in the playoffs do so they must know something our front office doesn't.

As I've written all season, and for the final time. James Jones is the problem. He constructs mentally weak rosters. JJ must go then you can get rid of anyone you like, except Book, but Jones must go ASAP. I just got to the point in the video where Flex isn't ready to throw JJ under the bus. He got us in the past season an albatross contract that no one will take for 2.5 years probably and a center that can't play in the playoffs.

James Jones was overruled by Ishbia on the KD and Beal trade. That's why Ishbia isn't going to fire him, because he knows its his fault.

NFL and NBA coach is completely different. X's and O's wise, NBA coaches don't call plays except out of timeout. Players freelance when plays are called. Also, given how small NBA rosters are from NFL rosters, its harder to get buy in.

They weren't getting Jrue Holiday for Ayton. Bucks got Dame for him, a player way above Ayton's caliber. Reports were they were going to waive CP3 if they didn't trade him to get below the 2nd apron (only $15 million of his $30 million was guaranteed) so that they could get the taxpayer mle (~$5 million contract). They were never going to get depth with or without him. CP3 still made $30 million which would've put them over the 2nd apron regardless and they still would only be able to sign minimum contracts. Ayton was a scapegoat but was also just as mentally weak as the rest of the team.

In the end the Cards had zero leverage. The Vikings just said no and waited for McCarthy to fall to 10. If you watch those guys you know what I'm saying is true.

The coach, the gm, the roleplayers, none of those matter if 1 and 35 shoot the shot diet they have this year and most of their career. It makes them have to be ridiculously efficient just to keep it close, while other teams who have stats who take high volume 3s and have rim pressure have a much larger room for error.

First we need to say goodbye to james jones as he was the mastermind behind this roster and will most likely follow. We need to add youth, talent, athleticism, defense, playmaking and toughness/ dirty players. We have the 22nd pick, start by drafting tyler kolek or devin carter. Move one or two bench players for a second round pick and take a big, athletic physical backup center that can block shots. Kel'el ware, adem bona, hanson yang. Players that play very good defense and are very competitive- jamal shead, dillon jones,ryan dunn,ulrich comche and dj wagner. We will most likely have to keep the big three, so beal comes off the bench similiar to jamal crawford. Maybe next year our roster could look something like this- kolek, booker, durant, bol, nurkic . With our main bench guys allen, beal,o'neal and kel'el ware. Adding guys like kolek and ware address several of our weaknesses. Maybe also pickup jamal shead as an undrafted rookie, he's the best defensive pointguard in the draft and could really pressure other guards as a backup off the bench.
Ishbia was the mastermind behind the roster. I know you love the draft, I see you comment on almost every video, but no 22nd pick is saving the team. No 2nd round pick is contributing to a playoff roster their first year either. They could make an impact a couple years down the line, but If they are going to give up the next 1-2 years, they should just trade KD and get it over with. Idk if Booker wants to stay for another rebuild / retooling.
@marcrego196 they don't have to come in and save the team, that's the job of booker beal and durant. I'm not talking about a rebuild, keeping the big three and adding a pointguard that can come in and pass, handle and shoot or come off the bench and play defense and an athletic big that can block shots and rebound. They only have to come in and play a role that we currently don't have an answer for. We are too darn old, injury prone, lack size, defense and playmaking. We could bring back thomas, but he's a scorer, not a playmaker. We need a backup center that can bring a different dimension from nurkic. We can't afford to find that in free agency right now and attempting to run it back with exactly the same roster and bench? Bad idea. Sure, this team could develop chemistry and having playoff tested vets help but our team still ran out of gas and was outmatched, outdefended and faced a younger, more athletic team that they had no answer for. Keep the core, you have to anyway but get an infusion of youth and athleticism at positions of need. Extend the window to chase a title.
