When men are in jail, there’s a huge amount of trauma that occurs. Most men are on meds for mental illness and don’t continue when released. There are no resources to work out these issues. Not making an excuse just providing awareness and hoping we stop being with someone just for the sake of being with a man. They do not like us and are unhinged
There are plenty resources for them when they come out of jail, it’s just that they’d rather go back to the streets.
@@cj5848 if you say so. I work in health equity, which includes the re-entry space, there are no resources available, the prisons do not set inmates up for release. Waitlists for halfway houses, therapy, many don’t have identification, insurance or income are not available. Resources are tapped out and especially for those who are poor. Going with family or a woman is usually ideal but it is harmful due to lack of prison education. It’s not a choice to not use what’s not available

We need to take these situations seriously. A person who has been to prison but has never been in anymore trouble, kept a job and a place to himself or herself for many years, and has been productive since that one incident, then that person may be worthy of consideration for romantic relationship. HOWEVER, folks who basically live in prison and jail . . . those people are not worthy of consideration. It's what our mothers say, "Let him get out and live something first." If he can't keep a job, keep a place that he pays for, and stay productive after one incidence (maybe two) in prison, then leave him or her for the streets. That's where that person thrives.

Either women aren’t doing background checks on the men they choose to pursue (or let pursue them) or they just don’t care. I am in no way, shape, or form judging anyone because I have unknowingly dealt with a criminal when I was much much younger, but I have definitely learned my lesson and never made that mistake again. The new generation has to step up and do better at teaching our sons and daughters how to navigate in this world so we can break this cycle.
