It's not unusual for an autopsy to take 6 months. There's usually only one medical examiner per town or within a certain mile radius. They could be backlogged. Especially in an area where there are a lot of deaths. It could take months. I see it all of the time. Not to mention the lazy incompetent medical examiners, who don't do a thorough examination. Oh and she's black so that's a huge factor. 😢.

Why didn't they notice bruises under her neck or around it? What did he tell them about her that made a injury such as internal decapitation look like a drug overdose. My guess is that he had beaten her previously, at this point the external bruising may have healed already, this last time he may have slammed her causing her spine to separate from her skull. Question no one noticed that her head was detached from her body. I'm so surprised that her family didn't push this. RIP to that young lady.

And all due diligence was done and is still being done.

What I don’t get is when they came to get her body, did they not see the head was not attaching properly? I doubt an overdose creates that type of injury.
Unfortunately, she may have been an addict in the past. Often times families become used to the cycle: using, clean , using, etc so they probably believed him based of that.
He also could have killed her in a drug induced rage.

We have to stop saying everyone has issues in relationships as if it's ok. Everyone isn't getting abused physically, emotionally or mentally. Some people argue over small things but it's not toxic and harmful.

I’ve followed this story and what’s unfortunate is that this woman’s mother didn’t investigate or try to find out the truth or ask for an autopsy as she had not been an educated woman. This victim’s mother relied on the murderer because she trust him. I’m blown away but this is the reality when poverty and lack of resources and education happens.
Her mother is probably the reason she ended up in a toxic relationship. She was looking for love in the wrong places.
