Lolz more pygmy cories! They school more and swim midwater in bigger groups!
Hey MD! Please do a Malawi Cichlids tank. I'm waiting for it. ❤
I've said it before, but MD, you are THE most accessible fish-tuber around. So easy to follow, great for inspiration, and always entry-level explanations. Love YOU!
Yup
True! I couldn’t figure out how to keep plants with all the complicated high tech stuff. Now that I found MD’s Chanel now my tank looks like a proper low tech Aqua-scape. Thanks MD!
This donny has sold me a hobby for life 🤝🤝
please put names of the plants on screen while planting them like you used to do in older videos🙏🏻 and please write the dimensions of tanks and the watts of the light too. it really helps to know the intensity of the light that you're using for each specific size of tank
😭🙏The amount of sheer joy I got when seeing you posted I just know this is gonna be phenomenal!!
Me too☺️🤭
Hmm
Due to the crazy CZcams algorithm, I came across one of these videos while randomly scrolling, couldn’t stop watching every video and now I’m an aqua scape hobbyist haha watching the fish swim around in a little home you’ve created for them is so so so satisfying. Hard work pays off with lots of plants and no over feeding 😅
Guppies and goldfish are the usual starters and boy are their an incredible amount of variety in each. Awesome low tech tank MD. You are really tempting me to do more than just watch your builds!
I bought 1 sponge filter $10, and it works perfectly the fish shop has one in every tank 😍
Going to my local fish shop tomorrow! You inspired me to build my first planted aquarium, it's a work in progress but your videos help so much!
Just so you know, you inspired me to build a aquascape for my Betta. I felt very confident going into my local fish shop (Shout out to the Golden Guppy) thanks to watching so many of your vids!
I was just watching the platy island build with this exact set-up today how coincidental that bulid was posted roughly 8 months ago. Awesome tank and stand, your a big inspiration
Been home ill with a stomach bug. So happy you posted a new video today, has made me feel better.
Thanks for all your shared knowledge. I started my first planted aquarium 6 months ago and everything is still living today! It was nothing special, just a couple java plants and rocks for a Beta but it makes me smile every day. Thanks.
Love that you explain the products and basically every detail, thanks 😊
I deeply appreciate how accessible you make this hobby feel
Remember MD EVERYTHING is content : ) Even maintenance. I think we all just enjoy seeing your tanks, learning along the way. Keep the content coming. It would be great if you could do a new series that is just like 10min clips of different tanks with chill background music. Maybe a little informational text on the screen, but mostly just watch the tank and chill. I know my wife and I would love to enjoy your tanks vicariously!
Hey MD. Just rediscoverd your channel after a year or 2. Its fantastic! Better than I remember it!! Keep it up. 👌🏽👍🏼💚💚
I found your channel about a month ago, and I have been binge watching your videos. You are awesome and my favorite aquarium/aqua scape channel! I would like to see more variation on your fish species but that’s just me and you do you man!! 🙌🏽💯👍🏽
MD: I’m here to show you how to do it really cheaply
Also MD: tosses in $500 of plants and aqua soil
Still love watching 😉
lol my thoughts exactly
lol straight to root tabs
maybe his idea of cheap is different to mere mortals like us
@@cdropbox we can get it to look like that in 6 months to a year 😅
also, most people face challenges and need to get the correct information, usually scientific info and it's not all aquascaping tanks.
Thank you for giving down to earth tips for how to get started on a budget! And this tank turned out amazing!!!
Wonderful!! SUPER inspirational! Love everything about this tank, build, set up, planting and residency!!
Love you work MD. I wish you and your family all the best! Just bought some guppies last week and I feel this is a sign that I should by more…😆
Not very fond of aquariums and fishes but I've been visiting and watching this channel for a month and decided to build a tank of my own. Great stress-reliever I say. Thank you.
Skip the guppies friend!change your life with a pair of platinum butterfly fantail carp koi hybrids.purchace them individually, from separate providers.
Was about to start a low tech Guppy tank, and will take inspiration from this great video.
One of the things I like best about your videos is that your system for setting up a tank is exactly the same each and every time. Even when working with the shop on their tanks the system of setup is exactly the same. That totally allows people to go back in your video lists and not get confused on what to do as well as seeing the different scaps mature over time. When it comes to your sponsor API. Even though I have only been a spiritic user of their products they have never failed and never had issues with them. I mainly use Tetra because that is what I started with bay back in 1975. Thanks for a great video once again.
Nope if I click it the count goes to 2. No black thumbs up here. Why would you ask that?
Beautiful setup MD, and always good to see Fish Shop Matt. Great job once again.
Loved this simple but impactful scape! I love how you try to keep things fairly cheap whist using tons of plants lol, I try to keep as many healthy trimmings as I can to make scapes as planted as yours without it emptying my wallet.
Looks incredible. I stopped by maidenhead to see your 8ft tank. Its something else seeing it in person. 👍👍👍 looks amazing
Really nice looking starter tank again MD, scape is on point! Great work and loving the videos.
you have no idea how perfect this upload was haha. perfect timing! I went and bought everything i needed the other day and today is the day my guppies get a bigger tank !
your vids take me back 50 years ago when i had two small aquariums, i find that guppies and mollies grew up better than swordtails and platys, you do great work here my young friend.
Gosh i love those guppies! You just inspired me to do a guppy bachelor tank!
Another beautiful tank MD. Makes me want to get some guppies and setup a tank.
You went from my favorite Aqua scaper to my favorite youtuber bro. I can tell you really love what you do and are excited about it. Top notch info and pricing on the builds! Keep them coming I'm stealing all your ideas haha!
Love this. My first (and currently only) community tank project is a planted guppy/endler community with a few ember tetras and albino corys. It's been so much fun and so easy to maintain.
same; mine is a walstad type and has been going strong for almost 3 years without maintenance
This is the kind of setup I have right now, love my guppies!
Beautiful work as always! I would love to see you and Matt have a chat about the Anoxic filtration or filtration in general sometime. Thanks!
Tetra were my first fish, I got neons :) I only recently got my first guppies (in May) because I was always like ehhhh.... they are just guppies. I saw some blue panda guppies and just HAD to have them! But they are so much fun as a fish to keep, so entertaining and I am loving seeing how the colours come up on the lil ones and the variety of patterns I am getting!
What a nice upload for me to see today. Thank you ❤❤❤
Been waiting for this one 😍 been planning on making a guppy tank for my living room so this helps
Officially my favourite youtuber thankyou MD :)
Great looking tank, my dad had guppies when i was kid.
Great little set up. Mat always has such a lovely selection of healthy fish in his shop. I wish you guys were in Australia.
Loving your show and series
You're a braver man than I to use any cyanoacrylate accelerant in an aquarium! Thin CA in tissue dries so fast it will often smoke with the heat
You made that tank look great 👍 ‼️🙂
Wow,beautiful,wonderful.
I vow to redo my butterfly fantail platinum carp koi hybrid tank,
Just like you show.
thankyou
Matt is so cool! I like seeing him!
This is very cool this is exactly what I want to do when I get back in the hobby do something that’s affordable
MD Fish alway's make it look easy. He has such amazing tank's and has a natural green thumb. Great video and content Mate. Like alway I'm truly impressed. Cheer's
"Flick off the sand that is all over your wood" The images of nudist beach parties that creates in my head made me chuckle
I'm loving the scape and guppies! But holy moly I wouldn't say this is budget. I'm in the US, and this would be multiple hundreds of dollars. Woods and plants both are hard for me because it's all online for me (no LFS). Plus a canister filter with SS pipes. And rimless tank to boot. But awesome awesome content! I'd love if you'd put together a true budget build. Like $100 or less. No old equipment or plant trimmings from other tanks.
This tank is literally thousand of dollars he’s ducking tripping calling it budget
I'm really inspired to watch your video, greetings from friends of goldfish cultivators in Indonesia
Those are some handsome guppies, you really showed them off well in this scape, MD. I haven't kept them in a long time but I'd be lying if I said this video didn't tempt me to go run out and get some. Take care.
Guppies aren’t my thing but they are really pretty, tough, and replace themselves. My #1 recommended starter fish when friends ask my opinion ❤ and what a beautiful home you made for them!
Love your work MD, I’d say you should list a breakdown of cost total for someone to do this that is starting out but I fear even an attempt at a lower budget build from you would scare many people off after seeing that total. You’re looking at a ton of money for everything used in this one set up. That wood alone would be a couple hundred bucks in my area. I suppose you do your best to show us a “low cost” build but it’s just not adding up here… (see what I did there). Keep on killing it man!
Im glad you tell measurements in centimetres also 😃
Amazing videos MD! I’ve been binge watching the past few days 😂. More videos with FishShop Matt please!
You know I luv n watch your videos. I may not comment n like every single video, because my hands are in an aquascape 9 out of 10. But know you have my support 💛💙💚💛💚💙
Such a find inspirational Thankyou 😊
Love all your videos MD. Could you do a short video in which you show what equipment you use to do your water changes as i find it so time consuming in having to fill numerous buckets of water to both empty and refill my tank.
Hi MD, I only discovered you yesterday but I am loving your eco aquariums. I love fish!! always have!! and have kept a few different types of fish on and off through out my life. It has been a few years now since I last kept fish due to my health. I still want to keep fish and have recently started looking into easy and low maintenance fish and have been considering guppies, I've never kept guppies before, they're small and pretty and schooling fish and all that does appeal to me but I have still been holding off because tank maintenance is still tank maintenance ....... oh so I thought!! It wasn't until one of your videos popped up in my recommended that it had dawned on me an almost self sustaining eco tank!! I have finally gotten a diagnosis recently and now know I have rheumatoid arthritis so a tank that wouldn't need water changes in the long term and would only need pruning means that my health hasn't taken fish keeping away from me at least not yet!! I do have two teenage sons living at home who can help me with set up and getting through the stabilizing phase of a new tank. My health has taken so many of the things that bring me joy because they cause me physical pain now if I tried BUT you have given me hope and lifted my spirits and for that I can not thank you enough!!!!!...... and if by chance you can think of some tips, advise, suggestions that may work for me keeping fish given my health struggles I would be eternally grateful!!!
PS really looking forward to part 3 of the no tech eco betta tank!! Betta being the other fish I have been considering just because I instantly fell in love with a black samurai betta who was almost completely metallic silver but his belly and tail/fin tips were lined black!! I wanted to take him home so bad!!! lol but no doubt even if I rushed a set up he'd be sold before I would be ready for him
Hi mate love your video's, I wish I could have seen them around 1980 ish. Just a quick thought for you. I notice you scrape the sand/gravels back from the front of the tank for aesthetics, what many of us used to do (back in the day) was to used black tape across the front of the tank to hide the dirt/medium completely. Just thinking about it now, a black painted strip approx 2" (50mm) wide would also work.
Looks great!
G’day mate, from down under. Love ya Videos they are Bonza!
Reminded me that I need to get some root tabs. Guppies are cool little fish no matter how long you've been in the hobby.
Matt's t-shirt game is on point!
Love your videos MD, but this is the 2nd recent video you've used a 60x30x30 tank and the 2nd time you've said it's 90 liters. That size tank is only 54liters. One of my tanks is that size and yours looks a lot taller than 12 inches. By the way, I'm not criticizing, I'm just curious 😁
I bought some male guppies 4 days ago. Yesterday I noticed babies in my quarantine tank….. next time, I’ll double check at the store, there may have been some jumpers! 🇦🇺❤️
Love all your vids 🤩
Great video! Well filmed and so lively and enjoyable to watch! Not so sure, however, that's what I would call a low budget tank... or at least would have been nice to emphazise the costs of each element you've put in as well as the estimated total amount (of course you have plants you reuse from other aquariums but it's not the case for a lot of beginners etc.)... When you see, sometimes the costs of the roots/wood and stones... without including the plants, that's getting quite high in terms of prices. Anyway, beautiful tank and really cool video! Well done! 👏Thanks from Brussels, Belgium
Looks amazing
thank you
Saw the thumbnail already know its gonna be good
Your tanks are beautiful ❤
I used your method for planted tank. I copied angelfish scape. Only been one week already seeing plant growth, seems to b working
Lovely tank plants guppies and friends
I love guppies!
yes you do
Lovely tank and beautiful fish. I tried having a group of all male guppies, but found they bickered and fought eachother constantly. More than just establishing a hierarchy. I was wondering, MD, if you'd had a similar experience and if you did, what you did to alleviate it? Love the channel and content.
I love this Chanel and your jungle style with the drift wood and plants coming out. I have started on my own large tank with with massive pieces of drift wood sticking out however I just has a dojo loach jump out of the tank. (The tank is in good parameters.) The emergent drift wood prevents a glass lid on either side of the light like I have on the rest of my tanks. I have thought about using mesh to go around the drift wood and emergent plants however I can't think of a way that wouldn't be a chore removing everytime. Do you or anyone have any suggestions for a lid?
another awesome tank , on a side note guess is time to have a shirt or woody that says " chunck'em up" ehhehhe
MD great video! How many fish would you recommend for a healthy 60cm tank? So it looks nice and busy but not overstocked?
4:20 correction it will work out the same price for your collection of wood but you will have a better variety in the end because shops usually only get a few good looking pieces per delivery.
Make a bowl scape with under-gravel filter. BTW absolutely love all your videos. 😍🙌
Love your vids
Do you have a video on how you made the stand? Would be cool if you did. lol
if you do some digging, he’s got a few videos on how he builds his tanks stands. i’m pretty sure he’s been using the same technique for quite some time. i’ll try to do some digging myself and come back with a link if i find anything.
check out the fish channel called “thekingofdiy” he has some in depth videos on building a lot of different stands, he goes into more detail than md does
Yaay New vid :D
Beautiful fish.
The single thing i hate about them is cuz they breed A LOT.
I had like 5 guppies in a tank.
In like a week they got 36 fish.
And The tank was extremele small for so many fish.
I ended up giving them.
Really? Thanks for the warning 😀
This is amazing! I've been following you for a while and your aquascapes are inspiring. I would love to see some celestial pearl danios in one of your scapes one day :)
There are some CPDs in MD’s Rare (Fish) Ecosystem Tank, but they are hardly to see. I think the other fishes are too dominant/wild so the CPDs stay shy.
I’ve about 40 CPDs in my community tank with some calm fishes, so they are very active in the foreground 😀
I'm getting my very very first tank delivered next Monday. Planning on getting about the same kinds of fish in there too. Curious how it'll all turn out after watching a ton of your videos. :)
You inspired me to get a planed aquarium (:
Hi MD,
Firstly, love the videos (I have basically binge watched them all... lol) and secondly, where can I purchase a similar hose to what you use for filling tanks?
I am looking for something similar to what you use. Something to fill a tank without blasting the substrate into the 5th dimension.
Now that I'm into aquascaping, and low maintenence systems, I hope you continue to make content because it is very inspiring :) :)
Can’t help but seeing a Sea lions head on the end of the wood facing the front on the right hand side, but this tank is epic you really Excelled yourself 🙂
This is lovely! Where do you get your driftwood and do you cure it before using it?
I would love to see an Australian desert aquascape
Its looking great!
Love from the netherlands ✌ and please come a year to vivarium the biggest show about aquariums terrariums in the netherlands
Great videos, love the channel!! Which frosted film on the back of the tanks do you use?
The big issue I run into is when you want to buy wood or rocks, a single piece of wood can be upwards of $50 for a smaller piece and rocks can be $20-$30 for smaller ones let alone ones with some decent size. This in turn leaves my tank lacking the hardscape it needs to pull of a scape like this and makes a "budget" scape run not so budget anymore. Overall though I love the videos MD!!!
Could a good really budget option be to go find some interesting ones for oneself? Or would there be bacterial issues? Seems to me it could be part of the fun
I fking love you and love your vids. Always an inspiration.
Thanks!
You make me want to do a whole new tank on the regular! Random question, will we ever hear (or have I missed?) an update on Poncho? I adore him and Timmy!
Pancho passed away long time ago 😢
What a weird coincidence, my assorted guppies showed up today for my planted community tank. Got a few eclipse guppies that look beautiful, if only my tank was this nicely scaped lol
Nice video! Do you feed the fish in this tank regularly or is it just at first while the tank gets itself working?
