was up in Hamilton, ont. just yesterday when i came across a great festival there where april wine gave a free show.... brought me back to my youth. One great Canadian band!
Picture this. You are driving down a lonely and deserted road coming to a railroad crossing, listening to the radio with the volume cranked a bit because you REALLY liked the last song that played and now you're half asleep, then this song comes up, you're jolted awake by the railroad crossing alarm and nearly have a heart attack when you come to and see the crossing!!
The train barrier-closing sound effect and bass are amazing. Too bad about the lyrics though. "I just need a straight-shootin' woman to get me through the night."? Another missed opportunity for real poetry and messaging.
@@mikekennedy5879 I realize that. And that's why the song is NOT called "Oowataconcept" or "Oowataninnovation." But my issue here is that most pop music is about nothing at all. And yet, these performers are in a perfect place (and get paid handsomely) to share some kind of message, but instead crank out bullshit lyrics, song after song. For money.
One of the greatest bands who are so understated. Amazing track.

April Wine is going to be performing at the 30th anniversary Havelock Ontario Country Jamboree this summer on the 3rd weekend of August 2019.
