The Fox Kids Club makes its first visit to the Power Rangers universe! In what Fox Kids itself dubbed THE BIGGEST EVENT IN ITS HISTORY, the Ninja Turtles and the Power Rangers met for the first time! It's an intriguing look at where two pop culture titans were in 1998... which was a very different place than either franchise occupies today. Nor was this the last time the Rangers and the Turtles teamed up...
Very special thanks to Pop Arena ( / poparena ) for providing the inspiration for this series. Please, check out his Nick Knacks series, it's fantastic!

Christopher Kayman Lee has mentioned on numerous occasions about how he and the rest of the cast were NOT happy about filming this episode. They had only just started filming for the series (Lee, especially, being the newest member of the cast) and before they knew it, they saw the turtle suits being unpacked and were told they were doing a crossover. Lee's hatred for the turtle suits did end up helping him in the long run, making his fight scene with them a BIT more believable.
Oh, BTW, Koichi Sakamoto actually had a small role in the third Turtles film. I'm not kidding, go look it up.

Man, 1998 was a whirlwind year.
    Marvel vs. Capcom 1
    Blade
Sailor Moon & Dragon Ball Z's debut on Toonami
    Scooby-Doo on Zombie Island.
The Powerhouse era on Cartoon Network.
    How I miss those days.

Crossovers like these are the kind of corporate junk food I crave. Is this is good television? Probably not. Does it hit all the dopamine parts of my stupid 90s kid brain? You bet it does!
    Great video!

For me in particular, my version of it was the Jimmy Timmy Power Hour (probably the closest thing we've gotten to the two kids giants crossing over since) and that had two sequels and a few promotional crossover comics.
Funnily enough, the specials, especially as they went on, felt more and more like FOP specials that started the JN cast albeit in different ways (e.g. more and more time spent in the FOP world, the writing becoming more or more dominated by FOP's writing style of the time).

Man, I love New York-set scenes of Power Rangers. All two of them, they’re the genre of our lives

As someone who was fully a TMNT fan growing up (and still is as an adult) while never getting too deep into Power Rangers, this was a solid look at a piece of television I've long been aware of yet never had the curiosity bug to ever check out for myself

If there is another TMNT/PR crossover comic, I really hope that they can get Jennika & the new Venus in on it in some way. They've been great additions to the world of the Turtles, and I hope they'll get adapted to TV or a movie someday.

Props for giving this crossover an unbiased opinion, and even showing your own growth as a fan. Even if I would have thought the same thing about Mystic Knights at the time.
But that's not what I want to ask. I have something more pressing on my mind, and it has to do with your Hulkie D tag name.
    Did you...
Did you collaborate with Jeff Harris in 2002?
DID YOU TELL HIM ABOUT CNX IN THE UK 22 YEARS AGO?
Because if you did, that would explain so much about your shared enjoyment of WB properties shackled by idiotic business moves. His generation was AOL, yours is Discovery, but they both use the same tactic.
