  • I am having a few small problems with my 2019 Can-Am Ryker Rally Edition. My coolant reservoir is leaking and I have a few other problems that I will go over in the video. I have information on all current recalls and service bulletins. Please check your Ryker for any of these problems if bought before June 2019 and always do a preride inspection.

Also is yours all fixed and any other videos with new updates

    • @budyser365
      @budyser365  Před 3 lety +2

      I had all my recalls fixed. I am currently at 5k miles. No more issues. The dealer should have all the service records in the system. Mine is running great now. I think BRP has the Ryker figured out now. You can get a BEST warranty at any dealer even over the phone. They cost about $700 for 3 years. A good deal would be about $650. I highly recommend one. It coveres everything pretty much but brakes and tires.
      The Ryker you are buying should have new wheel nuts. You can tell if they are upgraded because they have an offset tooth. Also the radiator coolant bottle is a better plastic with a better seal. You should have very little play when pulling straight up on the handle bars. Also the wiring in the wheel should be clean.

    Last year I purchased a brand new 2021 Ryker Rally. The drive shaft "O Ring" failed at only 1,000 kms leaking out all the oil. Luckily I was still in town and not on a road trip. FYI....BRP warranty road side service only picks up the machine and not you. Fast forward to 2,500kms, now the machines anti-freeze reservoir plastic bottle is beginning to fail (leak). Knowing what I know now I would have never bought this product. Buyer beware.

    Hey there. I bought my Riker in January of 2019. And it has been in the shop three times. Once per year after the initial year that I purchased it. The first time was a recall issue dealing with incorrect fluid levels from the factory. The second recall was issued for some type of bolt/Nut they could potentially crack in the wheel. And now, in 2022, they're telling me that I have some type of steering column problem and can-am now will not repair it. My dealership says that factory warranty is expired. and I understand that. However, I do have an extended warranty. Now I am back and forth with Can-am and my dealership to try and get this issue resolved. My dealerships says that it'll be $275 out of pocket cost. I'm not paying that and I will voluntary repo the darn thing if that's how can-am is going to play it and I'll explain to the bank, my dealership, and can-am themselves as to why I will no longer pay. but any suggestions on what to do should they not fix it for me?

I am sorry to hear that you are having issues.

    Just had some warranty work performed on my 2019 Ryker 900 Ace. Had gone to the Dealer over a month ago for a high pitched - squeal type of noise on the right side. Turned out it was the fuel pump. Mechanic witnessed and heard the noise, they ordered a new pump and it was installed. They also did the recall work on the steering assembly and the Brake diaphragm at the same time.
    I have also noticed a clicking sound on both front wheels similar to when we used to cloths pin baseball cards to the spokes of our bicycles. Is that what brought your attention to the wires? I'll have to take a closer look at mine and also bring that to their attention again. Had reported the clicking a number of times to them, but they did not hear it.

    • @budyser365
      @budyser365  Před 5 lety +1

      I am glad you got all your warranty work done. The clicking is what made me inspect the wheels closely. It was the wires bouncing off the spinning portion inside the wheel. Stronger rims, skid plate, radiator screen, Rally mode, way better shocks, hand guards, and Max Mount included in the price. The regular 600 and 900 don't have those. Grooves , uneven pavement etc will effect how it steers/ handles so you ride and get experience, ( search ahead as you ride, locate anything ahead, anticipate how it will effect your ride, decide how you will handle it and finally execute how you will maneuver on your bike safely.

    1st year models always have some sort of issues, thankfully that’s why they include a warranty! I sold Luxury cars for almost 20 years. Most were great, some were a nightmare AKA Jaguar! LOL! Great warranties but I rather have a trouble free car, thank you. Moved to Lexus and never looked back! Jags sucked really bad. Then after Obama ruined our economy I moved to Hyundai!! Howl cow, what a pleasant surprise. They use to be junk, not anymore. Spent the last 5 years selling them. I’m retired now from the car business but I learned a lot in the business. Got a ton of street smarts in that business. There’s lots of dirtbags in that business, but the stores I worked for were all top notch, or I wouldn’t work there. My CSI (customer satisfaction rating) was always in the high 90% rating month after month and so was the store’s or wouldn’t have worked there, period. I really got lucky when I found Pugi Hyundai in Downers Grove, Il. They are a Hyundai/Genesis dealer that operated like they were a Lexus store only not as expensive. Miss them a lot. But the long hours and working every weekend sucked. Still love them quite a bit. As a matter of fact before I retired, I bought me and the wife a 2015 Elantra Limited. That’s the fully loaded model. The only option I didn’t get was the Navigation package. It even has heated seats in the back!! It has never needed the warranty in the 5 years we have owned it and All it has needed was tries front breaks wipers and a new Battery! Pretty perfect, in my book!
    Been looking at the F-3 with the bags in the back. However the Dealer won’t budge on the price! I may wait until winter to buy when they are hungrier. I don’t pay MSRP for anything anymore!

      Great information. Thank you for sharing. It sounds like you had a great career and learned a lot.

    • @troy9er
      @troy9er Před 3 lety

      Thanks, I did learn a lot. For instance GDI injection is great for gas mileage but dual injection is best! GDI feeds the gas directly into the combustion chamber which gives more power while saving gas mileage. My Elantra can get up to and over 40 MPG on the highway. But the older port injection keeps the intake valves stems clean by constantly blowing them with fuel. GDI can cause carbon build up on the intake valves causing a whole new crop of problems. Their new motors will be dual injection. GM has it on some of their newer models but I wouldn’t buy one of those POS cars! Hate to say it but I’d only buy Toyota, Honda, or Hyundai in the future. Ford might be an option but they like GM are cutting corners on quality to make more money!! Planned obsolescence, so you need to buy more product! If you can afford to pay a car payment for ever leasing might be a better option. Hyundai/Genesis warranty is the best in the business 5 years 60 k miles and 10yrs100 k on the motor and trans. I’m not a leasing kind of person. I drive my cars for ever to get my $ worth out of them! I still work and probably will until the day I die so my go to work car is a 1997 Mazda Protoge. It has only 117000 miles on it and runs great! They also have a non interference engine in like most now cars that require timing belt changer before or at 100k miles or it could trash your motor if the belt or tension pulley’s fail. I use to hang out with the techs a lot to learn as much as I could. Been a bit of a grease monkey my whole life! LOL!!

      They have all the bugs kicked out now. If you get a 2020, it has the wiring done correctly, updated wheel nuts, and the upgraded coolant holder. Everything should be fine. You get a 1 year warranty with it. I would buy the 3 year Best Warranty just in case on top of that. Don't pay more than $800 for the warranty. Once I got my recalls fixed, I have been trouble free.
