Have a 55 Sportback and it’s supremely comfortable, added security of quattro, tons of power and plenty of range for me around 330km in winter. Plus the build quality is second to none. It’s heavy but can hustle down country roads. Also at HPC chargers the charging curve is brilliant right up to 90%
I am an owner of one ... 5000km on odometer, and I consistently get 500-550km on a full charge on highway staying below 110km/h. 600km if I hypermile with AC off. I chose the smaller 20inch wheels.
Have just received mine, happy to hear that! I think that AC will affect it a lot indeed.
27kwH/100km seems very high. I drove the previous gen 95kWh battery version and I was getting a consistent 22/23kwH/100km so I can't imagine the facelift with the new battery is worse! You must have been flooring it Nobby!
221 Kia EV6 owner here, a month ago we came back from France with the ferry. After that experience I would hate to see the charge maxing out at 150Kw when roadtripping. At the fast chargers we easily reached 175kw 235kw. If you had the money, I would def go with the alternatives that Nobby lists out at the summary. As for the 22kw on-board charger, it's great on your longer lunch stops so you don't get risked with the overcharge. But then, it'll be a while before you make that €2k back.
Folks considering this should wait for the Q6 or the new Porsche Macan EV. These will share new battery technology and should see ranges of over 600km
Electricity suppliers are gouging in Ireland, rip off Ireland that's why the cost savings are being lost.
Gosh, it's expensive. 43e to charge over night, wow, that surprised me. Great review, detail as always Mark.
There aren't many instances where you would get home with 0% battery at the end of the day. €43 is for charging the battery from 0% to 100%. You won't be charging that humongous battery from 0% every night that's for sure. My 2 month old, woefully inefficient SQ8 e-tron lasts me just over 4 days before it needs recharging. I usually have around +/-10% battery by the end of the 4+ days.
If you own and regularly charge an ev overnight, you should find an energy supplier with a dedicated tariff. £4.70 for a 0-100 charge on a car like this if done with the right supplier in the UK
Mark the lock icon in rear locks heating. it is a four zone A/C.
Is there an ambient lighting package on this car
Thanks for the video. Was it the 50 or the 55 version ?
55
What colour is that? Sorry if I missed it on video!
Plasma Blue Metallic
@@NobbyOnCars I've just ordered mine in this colour, great to finally see on in a review 💙
The 2k onboard charger option is completely useless without 3 phase electricity so a very pointless optional extra.
Not if you rely on public charging a lot it’s not
@@NobbyOnCars never once used a 22kw charger during the last 47k electric miles even though the car was a capable, DC fast charging mostly and 7-11kw more than enough for longer stays, really can’t see the benefit or scenario for slightly faster slow charging.
Will you review the new Nissan Leaf?
what new leaf?
It disgusts me that these huge heavy SUV EV monsters that consume so much more than their fair share of energy are touted as 'Green'. One of the Great Lies of the modern age
Audi never claimed that the e-tron is green. It's people like you (and green activists) who stick that label on the e-tron.
over priced for what it does and needs more for the money
massive battery with such bad mileage performance
43 euro for 400km (if youre lucky) that is laughable. Another example of how the myth of electric cars as a great advance is just that, a myth.
You don’t like clean air and energy security then?
Try 4.50 if you charge it on a proper tariff - 6p per kwh in the UK s about £4.80 for a full charge
