    I think you're right about to much power for this kind of car. It's more like a proof of concept. Even the first Buzz with the ID3 201HP motor was fast enough for a bus. But now with the new motor with 280hp it'll really be more then enough to accelerate unexpectedly fast in traffic for others.
    I've had a T5 with 130hp manual and it took like 14s to 100km/h ? This is just crazy fast.
    We have an ID3 and AWD Ioniq 5 and couldn't be happier. Thanks for your balances reviews

    I hope the next-gen LFP batteries find this van quickly. Not interested in NMC anymore. BYD can already have 87kWh of first-gen Blade battery in Seal U. Would like to see it here. Also I have no idea what's so difficult to make camp mode for a car made for camping

    Great review, much better layout for 7 seats than an electric SUV, the price will kill it's appeal, one fir the Jones. Is this a commercial vehicle with all that weight plus passengers.

    I heard that VW is going to introduce a 53-ish kWh battery. I'm not convinced it'll come soon enough.
    Sure if VW can make a faithful and affordable ID BUZZ like its Type2 sake, they would improve efficiency and overlap the prices with the ID4.
    VW should offer a 2+1 front bench and a 3rd row for the Short Wheel Base.
    If they can't do that bare minimum then I'm absolutely bored with VW. 7 years since the BUZZ concept and for what? A wealthy family's/boss' statement piece?

    I dont agree... same way you can challenge any kind of Range Rover or BMW X5M. with more and more EVs on the market sub 10sec 0-60 is fairly normal. And don't forget that this still can be a daily and bring some pleasure from driving. Also.. this 0-60 was measured with only driver on board and no luggage. add, seven people and a trailer and it will be different ;)

      @@NobbyOnCars You're wrong. Short wheel base GTX is 1800, LWB GTX 1600, non-GTX 1000 kg according to spec sheet. However, there are rumours that it will change once approved.

  • @timrothwell33
    @timrothwell33 Před 23 dny

    I'd normally agree about the power in this EV but isn't it required for those people with loads of people and stuff onboard and pulling the caravan? Otherwise, they'd get stuck at 10 mph driving up the hilly roads in places like Wales.

  • @ascari16
    @ascari16 Před 25 dny +3

    I like the car, quite a lot. A few things are not perfect like the interior seats being less practical than in the Multivan. However 87kwh in this size of a vehicle!? Really pathetic effort and makes it obsolete before it hits the market, VW really don’t learn from their mistakes 😒

    • @michaelridler5119
      @michaelridler5119 Před 24 dny +1

      My ID buzz has 77KWh and it’s fine, does everything we need it to do, including taking us to the Alps ( from London) at Easter.

    • @ascari16
      @ascari16 Před 24 dny +1

      @@michaelridler5119 sure, I am aware it is possible, I have made many a long jurney with standard range teslas, my argument is it does not make it a compelling product at that price point. If you travel at 135kph in the French autorute in winter with a fully loaded car (as I suppose you do) you are stopping every 200km or 1.5 h driving, that just doesn’t cut it in this day and age and at that price… in a car made for long road trips… terrible imho

  • @brukanbrugner6978
    @brukanbrugner6978 Před 25 dny

    This kind of car must offer big battery, long range, comfort and maybe quick charge. You will not do drags with a van. So it's kind of useless to have so many bhp.

    • @josefv8708
      @josefv8708 Před 21 dnem

      You can use it...but there is no must. Usually you use only a little bit of the engines power...not comparable to an ICE...forget what you have learned.
      The power is not the same like for ICEs...you get it easily by any electric engine and power of the battery.
      AND...if you limit the power...you limit the power of the regen, too.

    • @brukanbrugner6978
      @brukanbrugner6978 Před 21 dnem

      @@josefv8708 That was not the point. It costs to put more BHP and they are not required for such a car. Of course you can use them or not, but better invest in battery pack and other features than to make a hot wheels van.

      The fact that VW doesn't offer the BUZZ with its commercial's 2+1 front bench or a 3rd row.in short wheel base form just shows how little VW are trying.
      It's not the fault of being an EV. It's a fault of excess and profit gouging a retro icon

    Agree with the speed being unnecessary. 4wd with a reduced power and an increase efficiency would be better.

    • @AndreasHappyfarm
      @AndreasHappyfarm Před 21 dnem

      The motors wont be more efficient with less power.. Aerodynamics, overall vehicle efficiency and battery capacity is what matters

    • @josefv8708
      @josefv8708 Před 21 dnem +1

      Increased efficiency is always better, but has nothing to do with the power of the engine. Can be seen here, too...the new APP550 with 286hp is more efficent than the old one with only 204hp.
      Teslas are the most efficient and have a lot of power...
      All you have learned for ICEs...forget about it, since an electric engine just delivers very low power and has low consumption, if you do not ask for more.
      AND...if the engine is weak, you are limited in regen, too.
      A Taycan for example can regen at 400kw, due to the strong motor, and in most cases it needs no friction brakes at all.

    VW is seriously shoving the Buzz and MEB platform in the wrong trajectory.
    Have the Halo car/bus, it's hot sure 🥱. But the explicit lack of focus on accessibility and good value affordability will be VW's downfall especially with Chinese EVs.
    I'd honestly say the same thing with Toyota's newest Prius.
