The reasons for non-violence in Baluchistan and Sindh are quite understandable. The relations between the two communities were more harmonious, and the poverty was on both sides of the aisle. In Punjab and in particular Rawalpindi, the relations were tense because both were living side by side. The urban commercial life of Rawalpindi was dominated by the Hindu community, the landed elite were mostly Sikhs, while the Muslims were on the fringes of the system. So there was a clear economic dividing-line between the Hindu-Sikh and their Muslim counterparts.

Here we think the Pindi riots or other all over India had British blessings to speed-up their goal of neutralising the previous enemies ie, Sikhs and Muslims by bringing them to; “fight each other don’t come after us!”

How are the two periods linked? The mosque/cinema issue, and the independence period?
I fail to see the link.

The other side of the facts should also be reflected. One sided story cannot be digested.

The 1926 guru Arjun armed processions were meant to intimidate Muslims to remind them how they were punished after 1857 and loyal Sikh "masters" imposed and enriched to subjugate and lord it over the local Muslims.

Responsibility is with MK Gandhi, Jinnah and Nehru, who had agreed for partition without knowing the consequences. Also your peaceful dieen which directs you to do jihad and annihilation of non muslims. Mohamad bin Qasim, abdali, are your role models .

It’s not taught in Pakistan so how will it be taught in India? Isn’t that what the speaker was saying, that it was all hushed up by the British rulers at that time?

Very good sitting. But the main thing that needs to be addressed is what was the role of administration to stop this violence. If Mountbatain comes from Delhi to view the places. The question should be arises , what was the role of his policie and army to prevent it. Unfortunately, speaker and audience just neglect this point.
