    Bro I'm over here doing hw, having youtube auto-play lofi for the past few hours and suddenly this shit starts playing and I'm just like "What the fuck is going on in with my internet??" and then it fixes itself for a second and I'm like "Alright its back" followed by more "EE- EE EE" so I'm just sitting here like "Is this part of the song's style? Hm that is quite a strange style, purposefully lagging" so I started waiting for the drop and when it kept just lagging over and over again I finally decided to come check after multiple skips and I'm just like "Oh.. its a how to" xD

    I'd love to see a video on your finger drumming technique. What I find most impressive is how you're able to play one handed AND have a "drunken" swing. I'm at the point where I can do preetty much any pattern I want one-handed using a kick, snare, and hats AS LONG AS it's a straight beat. Once you add in swung hats and a slightly early snare I find it hard to feel.
    Excellent video as always. Keep cookin up beats!

      Thats a great idea man, I need to do more stuff on finger drumming - patterns etc. I'll add it to the list. Thanks a lot for the comment and for watching!

    Dope stuff! Finally got one off of ebay the other day. There's definitely a learning curve coming from a DAW, but it feels great to just listen to the music while you make it vs listening and looking at it...if that makes sense. Looking at a step sequencer or midi notes can definitely get old lol.

    Thanks againnn for all your content man, propz really..! Two more questions 😅 (considering getting an sx or mkii) mkii overall workflow & options indeed seem like an undeniable upgrade. Are you still able to pitch down/up multiple pads once sample is chopped at the same time like on the sx? And is the compressor sounding the same on the mkii as the sx? Wanna make sure I still get that grittiness and punch like on the sx.. hope it all makes sense 🙏

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před 2 lety

      yes you can pitch all the pads on the bank at the same time...the 1.14 upgrade added that in which is super handy. I wouldn't get the SX over the MK2 just for the compressor. THe MK2 sounds very similar and also has the 303 vinyl sim compressor as well which is a cool alternative

    Are you able to use effects on separate tracks in the SP404SX? I'm not familiar with SPs, I currently use an MPC Live but have been pondering getting an SP for the effects. Like if I have a piano, kick and a snare playing, can I use the vynil effect or any other effects on just the piano, or can I even have separate tracks?

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před 5 lety +9

      You can choose which pads you have the MFX on but you can't run multiple fx on different pads. The only way to do that is by resampling a sample onto a new pad with the FX applied whist you use another MFX on different pads. Hope that makes sense man!

    • @Caribbean_King
      @Caribbean_King Před 4 lety

      From the tutorials I've watched, the SP isn't polyphonic enough to do that. As spvidz mentioned, you have to resample, it may allow for 2-3 voices but all the vidz I've watched make it seem like it's easier to resample, although tedious at times.

    • @Zlagie
      @Zlagie Před 3 lety +1

      @@Caribbean_King SP404 owner here, I believe it has 6 voices. Stereo cuts that in half, so it's important to use as many mono voices as possible if you're playing with multiple samples at once.

    One random question. Does this come with audio and effects or you have to purchase them separately like maschine? What does make sps special? Does it work with specific ant daws? Tell me some info about it if you can. Thanks in advance !

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před 4 lety +1

      it comes with a 1gb SD card with some sounds on but they are useless really. This is just stand-alone sampler, so you'll have to source your own sounds and also its not built to work with any DAW really, you can obviously record from it into your DAW or get the sounds of the SD card and put them in your DAW but its just a stand alone sampler really.

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před 4 lety

      The main reason this thing is so good is the built in FX - they are the key to getting an authentic lofi sound in my opinion.

      @spvidz  Před 3 lety +2

      Thats an odd issue man, i've not heard of that. Which MFX are you trying to use? I imagine the one you are trying to use is boosting the volume somehow and therefore making it peak

    Hi, I need help I’m searching a way to sync two samples together on the sp 404 mkii from weeks and I don’t have it. Do you know how to quantize perfectly to play some samples at the same time ? The only quantization I found is in the resample rec mode but no way to have perfect loops.
    Best regards,
    Eliott

    • @spvidz
      @spvidz  Před 2 lety

      The best chance you have is using the pattern mode to get them triggering at exactly the same time

    • @eliottgualdi5424
      @eliottgualdi5424 Před 2 lety

      @@spvidz thanks for the message. It’s just that when I record manually in pattern mode the loop is not quantized. I want to be able to record say a bar of guitar and a bar of a sampled song and I want them to sync automatically on the same tempo without me having to physically quantize them. Does that make sense ?

      Resampling is the only way to add FX to the pads permanently. You can only run one MFX at at time so you have to resample a lot so you can use more than one at a time on a beat
