SayHiPaul is back and this time he's brought a Primaris Demi Company. So I rought The End of All Things. This is a narrative battle report in the ruins of Iax.

One of the best fluff based games I've seen. You guys managed to hit the holy grail of a balance, fun and competition that I think we all strive for. Well played both of you.
Just in case anyone missed it, Paul's threat to kill Mortarion with the emperor's sword makes a lot of sense from a lore perspective. It's one of the few weapons in existence that can give Mortarion a true death, rather than just banishing him back to the warp.

I like to think Guilliman realized his tactical mistake in allowing his arrogance get the better of him in trying to 1v1 Mortarion. And after coming back decided to just shoot him down.
I disagree: the inevitable falsehood of chaos confounding the honour brothers and provoking the merciless retribution of the servants of the Emperor is far better.
I can imagine Fluffy, while hearing Guileman's challenge, rolling his eyes and gesturing towards Guileman, getting a nod of approval from Mortarion, to curse the loyal Primarch while he's showing off his bravado.
I watch a lot of battle reports and I gotta say Paul is one of my favorite combatants out of anyone I have watched. Truely a good sport well done both of you this is why I like this game.
Paul and Winters are essential persons to keeping this game alive and thriving. Much appreciation for everything you do. Pauls paint job was clean and crisp
What’s shocking to me is that Paul is actually a very good player, and I’m sure that he would do alright if he practiced to play in competitive, but he actually kinda owns the metagame of battle reports in a weird way. Repeatedly in these matches he makes decisions entirely in-character(fuck yes), and challenges his opponent to do the same. If it was just a 1 on 1 game, it’d be easy to punish, but because it’s recorded, taunting like that actually works amazingly. Obviously these are just for fun narrative matches, which is just a fantastic way to play, but I really think that Paul especially has this playstyle ideal for batreps.
I'm new to the hobby and have been mostly watching your games to determine if I want to commit to building an army. Paul is the best, his energy is infectious and his devotion to the lore is peerless. It's always a pleasure to watch games with him.
This was my favorite battle report so far. You can tell both of you really enjoyed the game. The narrative fighting was epic! (And the sneaky evil demon prince played unfair by interfering in the duel!)

I haven't played 40K since 2008 in high school. These battle reports got me back in and boy has warhammer expanded. Gonna start my own Iron Hands army whenever its safe to. Love watching these videos. Keep it up!
Kudos to Paul for paying the costs for the squads, but removing the 6th man to stick with the 5-man theme. Great narrative, great battles. Fantastic videos, guys!

The story and passion as well as the painting technique behind the ultramarine army just got my paintbrushes wet after a few months I need to get back on the tables!
My honey and I love 40k, and we try to watch battle reports from time to time, but usually end up getting bored. Long as it is, we watched this entire film. It was so much fun. There is nothing like watching 2 good players fighting with 2 splendidly painted armies on a scenically superb board. Have to admit, we were were let down when Mortarion punked out of the challenge, but that's Chaos for you. Wonderful game, wonderful battle report. Thanks!

After watching these videos, I've bought my first minis and are waiting for them to arrive so I can get some paint on them and get painting. All I can wish for is finding people who like the narrative games and are in it for the fun of the game as much as you guys are.
This is it: The exact Battle Report that convinced me to get into 40k. After I watched this, I called my local game shop and picked up Dark Imperium. Haven’t looked back since!
Winters takes filthy playing to a new level with Mortarian! 1:42:35 Paul, with that charge range you could have put the lieutenant down the flank of the plague marines then consolidated into the back rear of the tank meaning it couldn't fire and Winters would have had to move it forward to break combat. You are very thematic and not gamey though so well done.
Lovely as always Winters. You never fail to make the games so fun to play. Just a thing because it did impact the game later. The way you fired the Lantern shouldn't work. You pick the target and draw a line, then hit. The thing is your picked the Intercessors, but that line didn't go over Guilliman or the Ancient, if you picked the Ancient (which you couldn't him being a Character) that was fine. Or if you picked a unit behind the characters, but as played on the Intercessors on front that didn't work. It affected since the Apothecary was later healing the Ancient instead of bringing back the Hellblasters.

Guilliman would have killed him easily in combat in that phase of the battle, he was just shooting because mortarion didn't keep his word.
