A few of you have asked how I painted my Word Bearers.... Paint the whole model in Wazdaka Red, heavily dry brush with Evil Suns Scarlet. Paint the metal in chainmail/ironbreaker, ink the whole model in Nuln Oil, then do slight highlights with ironbreaker on the shoulder pads. The Robes are Mechanicus Battlegrey, Agrax Earthshade, Highlight in Mech BG. The demonflesh is Talern Flesh, inked in Baal Red, then high lighted in Talern Flesh. Some of these are older paints, but there are modern equivalents.
It was a sight to behold! One could write some seriously good narrative for that army. Converting or slaughtering their way across the warp as your dark apostles spread the glorious and malign word of the chaos pantheon!
Jake0997 I’d hope that when I learn, I find players as forgiving. I can’t think of a better way to play this than learning in a manner where mistakes are talked about rather than brutally punished because you didn’t know. Although I would expect continual mistakes to eventually be punished.
I havn't even gotten to deployment yet and all I can say is wow. That Word Bearers army is absolutely stunning. You should be very proud of your work Paul.

Personally, i never understood that warcry. In what sense is Goldilocks a "false" emperor? He may be a douchebag, a liar or a tyrant but he's neither a usurper nor a changeling.
@@Self-replicating_whatnot may be slightly late, however I believe it to be related to the worship of the chaos gods. the notion of the emperor being as powerful / on par with them is why he is false. Also maybe because its more like what csm perceive as a false belief in general of him being powerful and worshippable

God bless Paul for reminding Winters about like 4 separate gaffs on those attacks back on the combat on the left side of the map when he wiped all three charging models. What a legend.
Plenty of folks have already said it, but Paul was an ace guest. A beautiful army and his passion for the fluff of his Word Bearers is inspiring. A great guy, you have to have him back on. Great game to watch, thanks.
Love the WB army, the adherence to the theme is pretty impressive! The Imperials look really good too, especially the UM! I have a hard time not dedicating stuff to the Gods before the battle. Like, DS Terminators. Call em Slaanesh and get access to the 'fire twice' stratagem, which is a (rather boring) game changer! Actually won last game in the first turn in part thanks to that particular combo. DS Slaanesh termies with lots of plasma with a Termi Lord and Sorc, cast Warptime on the termies to get them close. Shoot all the special weapons twice by use of the stratagem, reroll 1s on the plasmas due to Lord, could even burn another CP on Veterans of the Long war and get to add 1 to all to-wound rolls. Then assault in and finish off whatever is alive. I think GW should have made the unmarked option a bit more competitive in comparison with the marks. The combination of the WB having the weakest legion trait, with Unmarked being the weakest dedication means your army just feel gimped unless you break with the theme.
Liking this channel very much. Have a vast but slightly old collection of third edition (5k points or so) put them away when my children were born. These videos are hugely inspiring to get back into the hobbie so thank you!
Another great report. I really enjoy this bigger setups, but at same time i miss the days of your fantastic thrilling max 50 minutes narrative reports, we were able to watch during the lunch break.

Damn that was BRUTAL! Each side is all kinds of torn up. I like turn 3-4 a red tide washing down the blue lines, and blue holding firm in the end. Demonprince and Dreadknight fight was EPIC! Awesome game!

As much as I love watching squads get decimated by artillery and boltfire it’s also really fun to have those tense one on one fights when you’re more invested in the survival of an individual.

One thing though, in regard to the possibility to shoot the Daemon prince at 1'36": in no case you can target a character if another visible unit is closer - it does not matter if that unit is engaged. I think this has ben FAQd, and in fact 'engaged' is an old notion. You are simply within 1" or not of the enemy now, and that's it. Still, that's how it works for characters. So even if you first destroyed the flier, you still could not target the prince because there was an enemy unit (within 1" of one of yours) that was both visible and closer to the rest of your gunline
