That was pretty cool having a conversation in two different languages.
@william III Yes
Whatttt you’re leaving
@@donata73 no !
Not russian.
Ukrainian language
Fathers are the best teachers. Thank you Rusty
I love that dad's and son three-language conversation.
Your dad has a nice sense of humor and you both make a great team. I like it how you speak English to him and that he answers in Russian :-) I like both the mechanical videos and your travel videos.
Love your dad talking native language, sounds good... you talk in English he responds in native. Know dang well if met your dad on street corner and he didn’t want to talk it would be “No Speak English”. LOL, I think that’s funny as heck... God Bless...

Quality time with you're father, can't beat it.
He torques to spec the oil pickup housing like my dad with a impact gun lol 😆
Oil change includes an oil bath.
Your dad is really old school mechanic 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 by the way your dad looks young god bless you guys 🙏🙏💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
Its much easier to pull the pump and pickup out as an assembly and change those seals and reassemble on the bench then put it back in assembled so you don't have to fight it while under the truck. Side note to that, if you pull the pan down then pull all the bolts to the pump and pickup and let it drop into the pan you don't have to pick the truck up.
Brilliant oil change , wish i knew as much as you about mechanics , my first choice when i left school many many years ago , But couldn't get a company to hire me to be an apprentice , messy job , but yous smashed it ,till next time , happy trucking
Thanks for a great video father and son team. Me and my son use to haul new furniture together from nc to Los Los Angels together for Thomasville Furniture out of high point nc and we had a ball for many years. I think every son and his father should be a team whatever they do together. God Bless ya'll and keep up your good work together. 👌
It's a good idea to change the oil suction manifold which is that black thing with 4 bolts... Because it's plastic it becomes brittle and cracks... Which will make you lose oil pressure
This will happen over time, but with that mileage I think they are good for a couple of hundred miles more, however it's important to check the oil suction manifold, no cracks and that the check it's ok, otherwise it will have to be serviced with a new oil suction
That's the kind of videos I like best. Of course, all of your videos are amazing, just keep posting it all. Congrats!
Now this is the content I signed up for! Nice 👍
Great video man! Dropping the oil pump together with the oil pan helps catch the oil dropping from the block when the suction module is removed. Great vid!
Great video. Working with your father! Miss my father he saw me how to change oil in the car.
You are the best truck vlog on here brother. Keep it up. Wheels down shiney up!!
Great content Rusty! Stay safe 😃
Love your vlogs man, please make them regularly. I really wait for yr video......
Nice Job Rusty, I'm driving the newest Truck I've ever driven, 2012 Kenworth T660 with a 600hp Cummins and 18spd manual, never driven automatic wouldn't know how..this is my last year driving, after 40 years, nice to see you doing what we all used to do, now we go to overpriced underskilled Dealers, and get Hosed...good luck guys
If you own that truck consider yourself to be lucky. Automated transmissions are garbage, just garbage. I've been trying to get an aerodynamic truck with an 18-speed for four years and everything the manufacturers seem to have available are junk trucks with useless 9, 10, or automated transmissions. I don't want a 13, I want and 18. You can shift an 18 like a 9 when you are bobtailing or empty, or you can shift it like a 13 or an 18. I carry slag lube out to halliburton and other companies during the warmer months. An 18-speed is the better transmission for crawling off road and then running around the Rockies.
damn pops has no problem getting dirty!
Old school fools got no problem playing in the mud, great video thank you
That's what you call a real mechanic. I grew up just like his dad. Mechanics is a dirty job. Best part is, you can clean up once done and know your equipment is up and running because of you, not from a over priced "tech".
you guys are very talented
Loved this one.
Great to see you working on the truck with your Dad! Sounds like you both have A great sense of humor!
For anyone doing this, try wrapping the tube a few times with a small ratchet strap. Pass it through the eye of the hook or loop of the strap to lock it. Then you should be able to hook to any part of the truck & gently ratchet & pull the pipe out of the oil pump. Depending on your mileage & if you're diys or paying a mechanic you may want to change the old brittle plastic oil pickup manifold. They revised the design on the earlier DD15s. Also considering a new pump is just $300 u may want to throw that in too. Unless u like paying labor twice. Afa reusing the gasket. I wouldn't but to each their own I guess.
Agreed, that’s how I planned doing it on my truck. Thnx
Thanks for all your videos Save me a lot of money !
Great vid bud glad truck is better so be safe and godbless
New to the channel, keep up the good work brother, nice video.
Love the videos!
Love your videos!
Awesome job
not sure how you knew the problem was there, amazing work
Nice vid. Cheers! ✌
Keep going rusty😍😍
Nice job......what's the reason Detroit did away with the canister oil filter.....I have never been a fan of those cartridge filters at least with the canister filters you can fill them up with oil and them put them on the engine....one more thing it's kinda a coincidence that your oil pressure low cause of those orings cause some of GM's older 5.3 LS engines have the same issue the o ring the seals up the pickup tube to the oil pump that seal can become brittle and suck air and the result is low oil pressure
Haha I figured this was the job you did when I saw the oil pan down in the other post.
Rockin' cascadia and good luck
While you had it apart you should have changed out the plastic pickup tube to the new updated metal one because the plastic ones have a tendency to crack and then you get a similar problem that you just fixed
God bless both of you
Good video lots of information
отличная работа Рус!
Torque specs= 2 seconds of the impact
Whats Poppin heck yea brother
Protection from corona virus! 😂 love it! You should do a video on the DPF system, how it works and how to do a regen on those trucks
I hope you will start making the Volvo truck real soon 👍👍 nice work. Be safe from Corona virous. Tc
Awesome great content you show how 2 fix the big truck oil and much more . soon will see how you wash them as well 2 . i see a small white truck missing a finder is that another project next 2 your dads big truck .
You guys are good!
very good job
What did u remove or raised to get the oil pan out?
cool video from cool youtuber
What was your oil pressure at idle before and after doing this job?
Hello Rusty, thanks for yours videos. Question: I saw a mechanic that did the same job, but he said that you have to prime the oil system, I don't know if you did it and not mentioned it or if not needed to do it? Thanks for helping
You and your pops won't go rusty with all that oil on ya's 👍
just as a thought i have a 2016 auto cas with dd15 i use t6 shell which i change a 50 000k much better oil does not seem to wear out and thin down oil temp hangs around 100
Nice video Rusty. Get your dad a rubber mallet to tap stuff with instead of hitting things with his hands. Be safe out there guys.
Раньше не видел ваши видео, езжу на каскакадии 125 , уже 5 лет 875 миль уже, хороший трак. Хорошее видео
In the comments on one of your videos, someone said they are addicted to your videos. I am too. I think this is why people like them. First of all it is not of you talking to the camera. You show stuff, like fixing a truck or driving. It is a good mix. Very good music. You are funny even when you complain. It is always upbeat. You also speed up certain sections that would be boring slower speed. I actually look at your videos at 1.75X speed. So many truckers only complain while showing their ugly faces. keep on keeping on. You are always doing something positive. You also do not cuss. Some do not like that.
Tim Babin thank you
is there a metal tube upgrade for it?
What was the low oil pressure reading ? When idling and running
That is the way to do it.
Отличная работа. Спасибо ребята
great bro
hi Rusty ? when will we see you doing some work to your Volvo
Good job
How did you fix the other issue???
Doesn’t freightliner recommend mobil delvac brand oil?
Do you need to prime the oil after replacing the suction manifold???
Oil change is good after...and better with a nice truck wash and detail
Part numbers for orings oil suction manifild and pickup tube orings?
This is why fathers are the ish!
Did you make sure it was a diesel synthetic
hey brother dude, what part in FL are you out of?
Just be glad that oil pan was easy to remove. GM 3.5L v6 oil pan take like 2hrs to remove it.
Sorry man can you explain where you put that oil pump to lift up the axle? Please?
Cool
You are the chrisfix of trucks
Hope you added more oil.
And on the plastic oil filter housings.
Use a clear grease. On the threads. Before screwing down. Saves them seizing up on the next oil change.
Is the gearbox and diff oil. Due also
12:46 Who’s the Steeler fan? 😂
old guys are the best
Family business very nice
I looking for this drainin value slugs
Im dude from Sri Lanka, i only have a 100cc bike. But here i am watching how to fix a semi truck's oil pressure.
The internet is strange
Now we are all ears, what was that off camera part 😆😎?
Naaaa, just joking😉. God bless Rusty, you guys are doing great job!!!
nice work! i just wanna see how u took out that oil pan.
Put a bottle jack between the axel and frame. Jack it up just enough to slide the pan out. ,
Is it the same process for automatic
The is nice super cooling
Your dad needs to convert from the standard oil drain plug to a quick drain valve. Also I would have changed the plastic bridge because if it fails your engine would lock up before you can pull it off to the shoulder.
Nice!!!
Good a videos thanks
You're dad is awesome
Should have changed the oil pump at the same time rite now. Just curious why you no change it?
Transport oil pump is good... also it’s like 1k and my dad has a new one already on another truck so if something fails we will replace it
I want a job like this -truck driver
Дякую вам за відео))
Yep , oil fixes everything even covid😂 LMAO Sick video
It waa helpful
Excellent video Rusty, looking forward to the Toyota 2nd video and more of the Volvo VNL, keep up the good work and keep on trucking........
Do you guys work on outside trucks, also are you located in FL and where?
