Yes....this is the best interview (conversation) I've heard on your podcast. As a business owner myself (of 20 years), I always (and still do) feel that I'm not enough. Then comes Paul Smith. He's the closest I've ever come to mirroring someone like me. Non confrontational, decent, kind, attentive, thoughful....believes in slow incremental growth, not carrying debt in the business, doing thigs the right way......all the things I was told are a weakness in me. Thank you Paul. All I would ask is for to re-invite him back and ask him more in-depth about how he grew his business. I'd love for this story to continue
well said Sanjay,humility is everything
It’s great to hear a genuine and authentic conversation with an entrepreneur who is so humble about his success and built a fashion brand where quality and individuality is key.
He isn’t interested in just having a global brand. The value is in the quality and service and individual choice.
We should celebrate his hands on approach to his customers which is as important today as it was when he set up.
Absolutely one of the best interviews, so incredibly refreshing. His humility, his genuine interest in life and also an incredible story, building a business on his terms and still in business and successful.
Brilliant episode! Down to earth and just a genuine bloke who loves what he does!
Bloody brilliant. I was lucky enough to meet Paul when he came to a Ferrari launch event at the Grand Prix museum at Donington Park, back in the early 2000's. He was humble and curious about design. A brilliant and underrated human being.
What a humble, engaged, impressive man. Best of British 👍
Love Paul,a great Nottingham man, just a humble guy
My first ever 'large' clothes purchase was from the Floral Street shop. 1987, Classic Loafers, individual shoe bags (Never knew they existed before!!!). Never forgotten the experience and been a fan ever since
What an amazing humble man! He’s always been on top my list of someone I’d invite to dinner 😁offer is always open Paul 🤣🤣
What a great chat! Nice to have somebody on that is so down to earth even with all his success. Watching this and hearing his values makes me want to go and support his business and add to the belt that I was given by a ex city player for the FA cup final!
Great conversation… so real and grounded!! 😊
I've always loved Paul Smith clothes . It's fascinating to here from the man himself and the insight of how he started in his business.👍
such a lovely pod, I wonder how busy PS is going to be on Saturday's now
Love Paul Smith! Got my first PS Watch in Japan and still love it after all of these years. (Edit: Forgot to add that I love your channel. Keep up the great work!) ❤❤❤
I listen to your excellent channel whilst indulging my aging torso in it's daily bike routine. For todays conversation with PS l was in just the right spot. Extremely enjoyable. Thank you.🙏
What a brilliant man.
Great character love to see a follow up in his natural environment 👍
Seems a very genuine guy, not smug like some, down to earth and easy going.😊
Loved this podcast what an interesting human being
Interesting People are Interested People.
Knowledge & Experience is transferable, regardless of what field or trade they may specialize in.
Thanks for this + looking forward to the future podcasts.
"Too many adjectives in a sentence" totally defines our times...
A great conversation, he reminds me of Andrew Ritchie from Brompton who wanted to keep the company small and do a great job! He'd be a great interview guest for the pod
Cool

lol Woolworths this boy too far gone!
Please don't beg for subscribers. It looks very desperate. If people like the content they will subscribe.
There’s a big difference to success when reminded to subscribe, so it’s less desperate and more part of the strategy
You tripping?
All the biggest podcasts and CZcams channels always ask people to subscribe. It’s important to help any channel to build. Look at the Diary of a CEO. Steven asks in every single interview. They have 5.5million subscribers. High Performance has great guests and deserves to grow its audience via asking people to subscribe. It takes a second of someone’s time and doesn’t cost anything.
They ask for totally legitimate reasons and they deserve to grow.
It's not a beg! Ffs!
It's a very polite reminder of an option! Tis all!
"The cat sat on the mat!"
High performance means nothing to him. He has no concept of what it means! I stopped watching at this point.
What a limiting attitude.
Well, you missed a great chat - particularly how humble a great man can be (and should be). I suspect this might be useful....
