So glad your discovering Metallica! I grew up listening to them when the radio stations wouldn't play their music. We would patiently wait for all their new albums to hit the record stores and rush to buy lol. Seeing them live in concert is a must..the energy is like no other! This live performance was special, cant imagine being in that crowd lol. I was fortunate to be able to also see Pantera in concert along with Rage Against The Machine years ago..one of my favorite concerts I ever attended! Definitely check out Pantera!🤟

This is my favorite Metallica song bar-none. Great reaction brother! i never get tired of watching this video. I've seen Metallica more than 30 times live from 1990 - 2005. Their shows were untouchable, their stage presence, their crowd participation, their timing and impeccable in synch musicianship - just jawdropping performances. Then add the pyrothechnics, the energy, and the pure quality of their sound.
Thank you for reacting to this one! As for the 50+ deaths - probably a combination of dehydration, heat stroke, and maybe injuries from being crushed?
2 other great songs with a lot of build up that you were talking about:
Master of Puppets (considered by many Metallica fans to be their best song ever)
    For Whom The Bell Tolls

Basically anything from this show or Seattle 1989 will show you how incredible they are as a live act.
"Master Of Puppets" from Manchester England (in the pouring rain) is also epic.

The official Napalm records version. Heavy as hell with an unreal groove. Not to mention a female singer that is one of the most talented vocalists on the planet in my opinion. Loving your stuff. Subscribed. Brace yourself for another rabbit hole with Jinjer. The Jinjer fan base is insane too. You'll get tons of support. Keep up the good work.

The concert was during the tailend of the USSR's existence. This was the first western music performed in Russia since the 1940's. Security was handled by about 8000 Soviet army soldiers. During the concert, as mosh pits formed and began to circle the army commanders mistook it as the beginning of rioting and started bustin heads. 53 lives seems to be the most accurate count, and maybe a couple deaths came from other causes but the army was responsible for most. They didn't share much information about anything, and I haven't found any detailed reports. But the people were so hyped, many traveled for days, and the estimated 500,000 they predicted ended up at almost 2 million. The army counted up to the 1.6 mark but had to stop the count to provide "Security"! That was just the way it was for the soviet people. Their govt killed citizens on the daily. So anyone who was there is now a 40-60 year old Russian immigrant. The concert was free , however it is actually #5 on the list for record attendance!!!
Adogg , I am happy to see another metalhead being born. Metal offers very good music with meaning and relevance. (If they wear more make-up than your girl...skip it)

With all the LiveAid, FarmAid, BandAid, Comic Relief, and WeAreTheWorld that happened around the last 5 years of the 80's my memory is a bit distorted... also due in part to other goings-on of the late 80's.

"Slaves, Hebrews born to serve, to the Pharaoh" the Jews that once were believed to have been enslaved to build the pyramids.
"Blood running red and strong down the Nile" Bible talking about water turning to blood.
"Bush on fire" Exodus 3:1-4:17 God appeared to Moses through a bush on fire on Mount Horeb. telling Mosses to lead the Israelites out of Egypt and into Canaan.
"Plagues, darkness 3 days long" Well 3 days of darkness.
"Hail to Fire" Hail beat the crops, Locust then eat the crops, and what remained was destroyed by fire. Literally, Plagues from hail to fire.
"I creep across the land, killing first born man" God swept through Egypt killing the first born male of every household.
"Blood, Lambs blood painted door I shall pass" God told all the Jews to smear lambs blood over their door so that he would know that they were his followers and he would leave that house alone.

Great video friend ✌I would suggest Sad but True next..live of course is amazing! Glad you're enjoying Metallica 🤘 Master of Puppets is another, all bangers! If you do Master of Puppets imo lyric video would be best as the lyrics are very deep. Both of these have deep meaningful lyrics and amazing transistions
