I love this! Every song needs a guitar solo, even if they don't want a guitar solo it needs a guitar solo.
"Every song needs a guitar solo" - If it's done right and tasteful, maybe. But we've heard terrible guitar solos ruin good songs. Don't cope this.

Alex Melton has a great video and feel for that Taylor Swift song. Why there’s not more guitar solos in Pop music is beyond me. Doesn’t have to be a 7 minute epic song. A quick 20 second solo is more than enough to boost a song to the next level.
That's the way some country songs do it. "Quick ; you've got 7 seconds to do something fantastic ." And they do.
Solos have actually been becoming much more common in pop recently, both synth and guitar. The number one song a few weeks ago ‘Lose Control’ has an awesome guitar solo in it
To have a guitar solo you have to have a guitarist and most modern pop songs are made with computers and basic templates and programmers.

I do agree that a lot of Taylor’s songs would also sound killer with some more solos, I’m not a massive fan of hers but We Are Never Getting Back Together was the first one I liked from her and she does have some other good stuff that I’m into as well but another song of hers that would’ve been great with a solo is Love Story. I remember playing it with my band in my senior year of high school and we just turned it into a massive-sounding rock song so that arrangement definitely gives a lot of killer solo time

I didn't mind the songs that much except that Beyonce pile of crap, but I thought that Taylor Swift solo was the only good one, as great as he is on guitar, most of those solos just didn't seem that good.
I do this all the time in my year-end videos, but I do them with pop songs I like and think would be even better with a shred solo. Probably my favorite instance of it was in 2020 with "Blinding Lights" by The Weeknd where I gave it the most 80's guitar solo I could muster.

I watched you last night, and i thought to myself, ( after i wake up ), what if i play with a song with no guitar in the song, will i failed!!!! then i was searching for want i can play with a song, and sure to be hold, i found one, will it's not perfect to play a guitar with the song, i just have fun doing it, with a little frustration.

I'm usually not a sucker for pop garbage, but "Shape of You" for me is actually Ed's best work by far. It has a uniqueness to it that really works wonders.
I believe popular 80's jam, 'Manic Monday' by the Bangles should've had a guitar solo.
I’ve been wanting to take on a music project like this. Like a Me vs (insert pop artist here) remix lab-sorta thing. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard a Weeknd song and guitar melodies starting playing over the music in my head.

That Ed Sheran (I don't know how to write his name) song doesn't sound bad. It's an ok song. But I wish I could hear the solo. Taylor Swift's songs are ok, as well. They kinda remind me of Florence And The Machine, which I actually like (unfortunately, I don't listen to FATM, because it gives me PTSD. It's a long story with a sad ending)
If you love guitar you should check out popular Japanese music - some songs by Eve and Kenshi Yonezu have fire guitar. Linked Horizon also has some insane guitar solos
I ended up hating "Hey Soul Sister" at the time, because my ex-phone company used it on their ads, and I'd have to hear every time I had to call customer service, which actually happened quite a lot 😅
What about Eruption by Van Halen? It doesn't really have a lot of feel, and i feel like a guitar solo would bring that song together nicely.

Another way to fix these songs is to put the vocals back into the pitch correction software and completely change the vocal melody to something less annoying.

In general I'd like to see more instrumental breaks in songs. All of the best songs have great music, and even the majority of fans don't notice because they're focused on the lead singer.
Only way I will listen to the song "Last Night" is the No Resolve, Drew Jacobs cover of it.
I can happily and proudly say, I have never heard most of those songs at all. The rest only parts of in commercials or passing 😆🤣

Damn remember to be careful. Some magazine made a negative review of Taylor and hid the name of the author because they have gotten death treaths in the past. Then unaffiliated reviewers started getting treaths.
