Legends: a long, rich, complex story with trials, growth, and an ultimately satisfying conclusion.
Disney: Jango and Boba are just random bounty hunters who happened to have some armor.
Actually before Disney even bought Star Wars Boba, in the last two original trilogy movies, was loved by fans so much George made him a whole back story.
well, Jango was cast out of Mandalorian society due to his "unhonorable" ways, so Boba technically has Mandalorian heritage, but he himself is not Mandalorian. so, even though he's still badass, I like this version of him WAAAAAYY more.
The thing is Disney has never had a truly original idea every animation was just a fairytale reworked they took Lucas Films and made there biggest mistake they threw away all of the free research and stories that they could have used for almost nothing the fan would have lapped it up knowing their beloved stories would truly become movie cannon, even if they had just used some of it as a passing reference.
That is where Disney went wrong they thought they could write their own story and ignore 1000's of years of star war lore that most fans had accepted as lore.
The truth is George Lucas even signed off on a few himself making them cannon, so Disney, when you buy the next big thing, do what you do best leave the little people that know what other little people want alone to do their own thing and you just enjoy the money and we will enjoy watching what other little people make and keep sending you fat bonuses ok.

You know, after hearing the life stories of Maul and Grievous, seeing them go through tragedy after tragedy only to die bloody and meaningless deaths, hearing that Boba Fett had a happy ending made me really happy. Finding that at least one of those big names of the early days found peace and happiness made the whole story seem less miserable.
I don't often jump into the "Legends vs Canon" discussion but Fett is one of those places where I definitely ADORE the Legends canon for post-Endor. Legends Boba is just the full measure of greatness.

This is why Boba will always be my favorite character in Star Wars. His legends storyline was so complex and great narratively. I loved his adventures with his granddaughter and the fight during the second galactic civil war. I remember being 10 years old hearing disney bought star wars and wiped everything legends set out into the garbage. i know it’s extremely unlikely to happen but i wish we would get mirta gev and boba’s family eventually in star wars canon. the least we can ask is him being a true mandalorian
Imagine reading canon books for over fifth-teen years dreaming of the next trilogy before Episode 1 was made; knowing from the '96 release of Star Wars that Lucas had thought of the past and future of his story and waiting for it. Real bummer when he sold....

Boba Fett the man that was the reason Mandalorians were made canon and would become one of the greatest rulers of Mandalore. I liked that y'all talked about his philosophical side as well which to me has made him more of a complicated character and this served as a great development in his quest to finally bring Jaster's legacy to fruition.

Legends are way better than Canons. I can't believe this great story about Boba was scrapped and altered for the ongoing book of boba fett in the canon series.
This was the Boba Fett I grew up with.
I firmly believe and hope that Boba's family will be recanonized. They are all cool and add a layer of tragedy to Fett's story and fits the Star Wars theme of family. The part with Boba not knowing how his daughter felt about him for so many years or never seeing her ever again and feeling he failed her was both really sad and tragic and how his granddaughter wanting to forgive him is really touching.
This is why boba is easily my favorite star wars characters
I seriously hope that the Mandalorian has Boba wielding the dark sabor and is the true leader of Mandalor. Thank you for putting all of this together and explaining his story!

Disneys Bobba fett is just a husk of a character underutilized with so much potential but has to operate within the husk that is Disneys cannon.

"Canon" is a relative word, especially here. Legends itself forms a separate canon, so it's just distinct from the new one, not invalid or anything. But whad is a shame is that they don't publish new stories in this continuity.

With Disney they basically just stole some of this stuff and put it into Din's character. It feels like a total betrayal to Boba fans. OH MY GOD !!! I never really knew Boba Fett other than the movies and the Clone wars tv series. I actually teared up a lil at how he truly forgave Han and the Jedi and was even honestly saddened at what happened to them even when he lost his daughter. Wow his Life story deserves a movie more than any of the recent Star Wars Films. The Mandalorian was a good start, I hope it leads to Boba's incredible story !

damn i even got some tears in the end there, just loved how everything circled back to bobas old life meeting solo, skywalker but in a different light, don't care if this is legends damn what a nice story and end for just one guy we saw some minutes on the movie screen, Boba has really become one of my most favorite characters in all of star wars or rather in all of media.

A lot of extended universe stories suffer from trying to top everything that came before, or make their characters the coolest ever, but somehow the Fetts have a really satisfying and interesting story that doesn't feel unearned
To think disney retconned all of this out of existence... When it's this awesome. I'm utterly impressed.
I'm more invested in these side characters who all had 5 minutes of screen time at most throughout several trilogies.
Than I am in the modern day film adaptions, just from this series of videos this dude who runs this channel has made. That is such a sick story arc. Wtf. I'd have taken 5 boba fett movies over the last 4 or 5 movies Disney made. This stuff is sick.
I'm not even a star wars guy. This was killer. I'm kind of awestruck by how many twists and turns there were and how it all made sense. There's some real complexity to this, and it doesn't feel convoluted or ridiculous.

I am very pleased to find this appear just as I was thinking about it.
The algorithms are strong with this one
Amazing how this one side character from the animated Star Wars Christmas Special (we don't talk about that...) and The Empire Strikes back developed to this extent. THAT is the magic of Star Wars: The smallest things can be expanded upon to almost no ends. One small line can spark the creation of whole new storylines and characters (i.e. C3PO mentioning Kessel in the first minutes of A New Hope or Obi-Wan talking about the Clone Wars).
