I just donât understand how such a perfectly written, interesting engaging story detailing Jangoâs backstory is just hand waved off as non-cannon. Not only did we see the rise of a legendary Mando, we got a glimpse of the Mando culture that wasnât part if the pacifist movement.
Sadly, Lucas and Filonni both mentioned during Clone Wars creation that Jango was most definitely not Mando, meaning all the novels and comics that went through Jango's past were already considered non-canon back when Legends existed as canon but most people ignored Lucas and Filonni's confirmation because like you said, it really stupid to just toss away an already established and detailed lore of a character's history.
@@WatcherMovie008 To be fair to fair, the way they actually did it actually seemed to leave room for interpretation, which makes me think at least Filoni intended to have some sort of "plan" just in case.
That being said, I do question how this lack of a Mandalorian history will play into Season 2 of Mando

@@WatcherMovie008 That was purely Filoni's choice. All George did for TCW was fund it. There is no evidence that he did anything else for the show such as writing, producing etc. other than fund it and maybe checked on the team once in awhile .

Stuff like this is why Legends needs to continue as its own thing and why more folks need to support the Star Wars Legends movement.
Its definitely a stretch, but I think The Black Series figure line only has canon figures (again to my knowledge and I dont have them all or look over every single one so I may be wrong), but with the new Jango Fett figure from the Bounty Hunter videogame it might mean that its canon. I say this because Sion, Trea, Revan from Kotor 2 are canon thanks to galaxy of heroes and they've not released anything really that contradicts their story or Jango's so they might be considered canon. The only thing I'm aware of in Jango's story is Almec (who lied to Obiwan about the warriors of Mandalore rebuilding, being a deathwatch supporter too who rivaled the true mandalorians) saying Jango was a simple bountyhunter who managed to get his hands on some armor. I may just be hopeful, but we might get more backstory in season 2 of The Mandalorian with Boba's jetpack and helmet making an appearance and Tamuera Morrison being casted this season đ

I see no reason Disney canon and Legends can't co-exist, Mandalorians split into multiple factions including several banished ones and I feel misinformation coming from each group explains the inconsistencies in each of theirs stories.
The Jango is no Mando argument comes from that Mandalorian Politician disavowing Jango to Obi-wan in the clone wars, Right after Obi-wan asked if they knew anything about his assassination attempts. Of course hes not going to claim a soldier from a banished faction that died out before the Phantom Menace.
Boba is more complicated, technically the only Mandalorian culture hes been exposed to is by his father, he wasn't raised in the group, but I think that leaves room for him to rebuild the army in future star wars projects or even maybe the Mandalorian season 2 or beyond Since he probably has a desire to rejoin his fathers adopted heritage (though not the pascifists or Death Watch, Jango would have taught him to hate those groups.)

Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau along with the rest of Lucasfilm (because they have the final say in greenlighting this stuff) agree with you according to the newest Mandalorian episode.

Wow, I didn't realize there was this much history about Jango Fett. And that he had so much loyalty and honor. This really has changed my opinion of Jango, for the better.
Shows how skilled the mandalorians and especially Jango were when they were able to take out over half of the Jedis without having any force abilities! The mandos are some of the most badass Star wars characters!
Disney wasted so much potential ignoring this much lore.

Disney have said they're looking back at past lore to see what they can bring in. Expect a lot of Legends to become Canon really quickly.
Lucas ignored this lore first. For him the Fetts weren't Mandalorians and that's why we got a corresponding statement from Almec in TCW when Almec said that Jango Fett was just an ordinary bounty hunter. So Disney has nothing to do with it. The fact that the EU was declared to be non-canon was long overdue in many places due to Lucas's canon policy.

In the both novels Order 66: A Republic Commando Novel and Imperial Commando: 501st
It's revealed Jango's sister Arla was spared and forced to join the Death Watch.
She was unwillingly became an assassin for the terrorist group.
As a result, Arla suffers from Stockholm syndrome and couldn't reunite with her brother since she reluctantly joined with the Enemy who slaughtered both their parents.
She also became suicidal.
She must have heard the Jango died on Geonosis and took it hard.
They should remaster Star Wars Bounty Hunter.

@@warlord0877 Gungans are actually great warriors. They have superior speed and reflexes to humans. I'd rather be a gungan than a normal human. Gungans would wreck rebel commandos, naboo troops, and imperials in close combat. They carried the battle of Mon Calamari and were the best troops by far. They beat Grievous.
Gungans are actually up there with factions like Genosians, Kel Dor, Chiss, Selkath, Ewoks, and Zygerians. But a bit below Noghri, Echanti, Mandalorians, Trandoshans, Umbarans, Yinchorri, Uri Fen's race, Iridorians, Night sisters, Wookiees, Vong, and Devorians. Gamoreans, Jawas, Cathar, Twileks, Humans, Mon Calamari, Weequay, and Rodians are all below Gungans.
I love the Sith and Empire, but I'm going Mando all the way.
When Almic said Jango Fett wasn't a mandalorian I'm guessing that was bias against Jango's kind of mandalorian
I always assumed that Almic and many pacifist were just saying he doesnât represent there faction and current Mandalorian culture

Honestly this Jango Fett is much better than the canon material Jango. I kind of enjoyed the EU stuff as it did expand much more of this universe where most people won't want to expand it. I also believe that there is room to have this info with Jango if Disney or even George Lucas would put into it.

That remaster would be godly among the current games we forced to play and receive. Plus it'd get casual Star Wars fans to look further into Legends. Disney Star Wars/Canon is going nowhere and hasn't been for the longest. The Expanded Universe needs to make a comeback. And I mean a big one. Without enough attention it'll just remain in the dark remain an infinite shadow of what current Star Wars could be...

Now the second book in the Republic Commando series revealed that Jango's sister survived Concord Dawn and became a Bounty Hunter till she was captured by the Empire.
Hands down my favorite Star Wars character of all time. Underrated but respected. Jango Fett was more than just a natural born leading Mandalorian and a perfect bounty hunter, he was the mentor of Boba Fett and Cad Bane. And those two were considered the best of the best in the galaxy after Jango's death. It is a fact if Jango ever survived he will still be at the top above Boba and Bane.
