A mechanic I watch saved a customer a lot of money because he had been holding onto parts from a blown-up Pentastar engine, and was able to replace a damaged (plastic!!!) valve cover from that pile of parts.
Sometimes its a weird bolt, or a bracket, or a sensor module.

In other shops it could be the one piece of birch plywood you have left over from another project, or those antique hinges you pulled off a rotting piece of furniture.
In my crafting room, it's that weirdly shaped piece of styrofoam, or the branches I cut off a shrub that I forgot I still had.

My dad would have loved watching you. He did woodworking as a hobby back in the 60's and 70's. He did a little lathe work but he liked making furniture.

THAT is a deluxe trinket box for sure. Just a simple and colourful little box like this can be absolutely adorable and beautiful! So don't shy away form making simple things "for us" from time to time, we love that as well.

I love the way that resin kept the swirl of color in there, and the way that the wood peeks through the purple giving off an almost orange as it penetrates.
The colors in this are incredible!! When you first hit the lid with the polish and the pink was revealed, I gasped. I had no idea there was going to be pink in there! It's like a little pot of magic!

It's nice to hear the change of perspective. Art is like science: question, theorise what might happen, experiment and discuss the successful outcome or limitations. Then, start the all over again. I love this piece because it contains all my favourite colours.

We bought a used lathe about five years ago. Back then I was watching so any of your videos. But life complications kept us from getting it set up. So I just got discouraged and unsubscribed from all my turning channels. Last week my sweet hubby finally got it set up! So I am back! I have a bit of practice behind me and think I am ready for something a tiny bit more challenging. I am so excited.
