Notice everytime she held the kid’s hand, it was so she wouldn’t scare him when she started belting. She was definitely a sweetheart.
Whitney in her prime was the most naturally talented overall singer. There are some who hover in her league, like Streisand and Lara Fabian, but Whitney’s tone and clarity while maintaining that level of power was sent straight from God. I wish she would have treasured that gift as much as her fans did, she was a once in a lifetime gift and worked incredibly hard at her craft. Rest in peace Whitney, we love and miss you!

I too am biased when it comes to Whitney. I will always love her and her music. I like and listen to many different artists but to me no one will ever sound like her, She was blessed from above to be able to sing when in actuality she wasn't even suppose to be able to speak. This was her welcome home heroes free concert for our military and their family. I had it recorded and watched it so much the vhs tape broke, lol. She started off with The Star Spangled Banner (since so many people were aghast that the super bowl performance was not live-even though she was actually singing, the mic was off but the people around her heard her singing). She also did a love medley with Didn’t We Almost Have It All/A House Is Not A Home/Where Do Broken Hearts Go that was amazing. This song The Greatest Love Of All was the second to the last song of the concert and her voice was still able to belt out those notes on pitch and sustained with ease.
Whitney is the GOAT hands down.. I used to be young and dumb thinking Beyoncé was better lmao… silly me.

I used to watch this concert over and over as a kid. My sister hated Whitney Houston but because she shared her light, her gift, it made me want to sing. I didn't know I COULD sing until I recorded myself singing THIS song on my mother's tape recorder. I recorded over one of her church tapes! 😂 Whitney, I am still as impressed by your beauty and your voice today that I was 35 years ago.
